Sad, but everyone knows that the first thing one does when one becomes “famous” is to dump the dead weight. Sever ties with the past. As Madonna once said, and I paraphrase, “What can I get from them now, anyway?”

LOL! Just today when I saw the Glee kids singing I thought “Hmmm. Wouldn’t it be cool it the rumors of Adam Lambert being a guest on Glee was true and Adam and Chris Colfer hooked up?”

I mean, really, Chris fits the type Adam said he likes, younger and small.

P.S. The so called gossip blogger is Katy Perry’s BFF. He is at her beck and call.

He almost always attends red carpet events with her. Maybe now she has a new escort down the red carpet.

Good relationships are difficult to maintain in ordinary circumstances ….even harder under public scutinty.

I don’t think Adam would dump Drake just because he is now famous. He’s not that shallow. All relationships have problems and we don’t really know anything about theirs nor should we. That being said, long distance relationships are difficult at best and they were separated by the miles most of the time.

Have to agree with this! Hopefully this was a relationship that just ran it’s course and came to an amicable end. There is so much going on for Adam right now and I wouldn’t want him to feel too down about this.

They hadn’t been dating long enough or public enough for Drake to be dead weight IMO. I think the time apart while Adam toured and then working on his album couldn’t have helped. Starting a new relationship when your under the microscope is only adding to the pressure.

I’m sad to hear this, but not surprised. Relationships require time and effort, and Adam has had little to spare over the past months. (I worry about the strain on Kris’ marriage too, for the same reasons.) It’s not a matter of “dead wood”, but the ability to keep it going in the face of seemingly never-ending work, distance, and their personal respective needs. I hope the future is happy for both of them.

I usually do not want to discuss an Idol’s love life, but well, since MJ put it out there for discussion, here goes…

I have always suspected that Adam Lambert is a different sort of gay in that he is (how to put it) — FLEXIBLE. He can be attracted to both men and women.

That complicates his relationships with whoever his current partner is even more.

Adam has stated that he’s not bisexual (ie flexible) and even if that were the case from what I’ve read about Drake he has in fact been with women and actually has an ex-girlfriend who is quite bitter about him dating her for years and then coming out as Adam’s boyfriend.

I wish no ill will to Drake. But I am sitting here thinking what pressure Adam must have been through the last couple of weeks trying to wrap up his album and going through a break-up at the same time.

So the suck-face a few weeks ago was like pretend? Also, I’m not surprised. I mean, with what happened during Idol…so just par for the course, I think.

And there was a rumor that Adam & Drake broke up soon after Idol finished or whatever. One of the tricks for save-face PR is to stay until it’s deemed time to break up — like A-Rod & his pregnant wife.

As for the kiss, you can’t kiss someone and then break up a couple of weeks later, unless it’s some kind of media stunt? Hmmm, okay. Break ups aren’t easy, and considering how Adam talks about wanting to be in love, maybe he just thinks that Drake isn’t the one and doesn’t want to prolong it. Maybe it’s just that simple.

Drake is an artist. He doesn’t need to get a job and has not been idle.

I am sorry but I never felt there was a true relationship there to begin with. Drake stated back during the tour in an interview that they were close friends and had been for years. I believe after Adam stated he was gay that everyone started with all the questions. The pictures showed up of them holding hands and when ask Adam said we are friends, don’t you ever hold hands with your friends. No one listened but ran with it and so did Adam and Drake. This took some pressure off of Adam about his personal life. Everybody was happy that Adam had a love life and now on to his future.

I think they are still good friends and Drake helped him when he needed it.

Adam is going to be a real busy young man trying to fulfill his dream, with not a lot of room for anything else right now.

I know Adam will achieve much success and hope Drake does also.

Not that it’s really any of my business, and I don’t usually speculate on the relationships of others, but since it was already made public on TMZ, I have to agree with a poster above who said Adam didn’t look comfortable with that kiss. He certainly is not the one who initiated it. When it came on TMZ, I remember commenting to my hubby that Adam kind of turned to find Drake’s face right there leaning in for a kiss. He obliged, of course, but it was kind of an awkward moment, IMO. I’m really only commenting on this because, based on the fact that it clearly wasn’t Adam who initiated it, I don’t think it’s fair to make the accusation that it was fake.

I know I’m not in a position to say this, not knowing either one of them, but there was something about Drake I just didn’t like. Not liking his tank tops is too superficial. He seemed clingy and needy to me. I always thought Adam needed somebody who was more on his level. Drake came across as lower class. I know that sounds snobbish, and I have no way of knowing one way or the other, it was just always the way he came across to me.

On the other hand, I think Adam is a good judge of character, and Drake is probably a good guy. He always seemed happy when he was with Drake, especially at the Pink concert. I hope they can remain friends, and find love and happiness in their lives.

I suspect that they came to the conclusion that they were better friends than partners. I mean that is pretty normal for people in their 20s as they are figuring out what they like and don’t like and what they want and don’t want. They are both young and at the start of their careers. I hope they both are doing well and are not sad.

Not that it matters…. but I think you need to look at the video again. Drake did lean into him to kiss him. Adam was starting the car and was looking down when Adam turned his head he backed up for a sec then after Drake puckered up he went and Kissed him back. I was part of the discussion here and my memory is that most agree with my assessment. But really who cares…..For anyone to assume it was done to squash rumors that they were having trouble. WHY….most fans did not want Adam to be with Drake in the first place. It would not have hindered his popularity or likability factor in anyway. My take is they were having issues, were trying to make a go of it…and realized it wasn’t going to work. I don’t know if any of you have been in a relationship. Relationships take work sometimes more then others. There are times when things are not going well, but you are still doing your best to make it work. …sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn’t.. Kissing someone during the rough times does not make you fake or pretending. Whatever did happen its between Adam and Drake and really is not indicative of who Adam is or his music. IMHO

I never got the impression that they were all that serious, so I’m not too surprised about this.

But best of luck to Adam and Drake, I hope it really was an amicable split, and may both find true love ♥

I’m not sure what you are saying, given that I don’t have a clue as to what Drake could have given Adam that Adam now doesn’t need (your last sentence -quote), however, I agree with someone who mentioned about how hard it must be on all the idols, especially the married ones to be away from home and now preparing to release albums and start touring again… Regardless, I hope Adam is okay, and that he and Drake remain friends if that’s what they want. But in the bigger scheme of things while it’s fun to joke and tease and fantasize, I really don’t care about the idols’ personal lives. (their music, touring, fashion sense, humour, interests is another story though).

Of course Adam dumped Drake. He is a star now.

Always remember a play/TV/movie? (forget which) in which a younger man asks an older married man (1950′s) how he managed to stay married so long. The reply resonated – “In our day we expected less, but, in the long run, we got more.”

I have to assume this is still rumor and gossip, but if it turns out to be true: I don’t think they were faking a relationship, but I do think it was a “romance” developed out of a friendship — which is usually the best way (if it can happen). And yes, it may have gone further for the same reason a lot of people wind up with each other — habit, comfort, laziness, fear of being alone or having to start all over. But if it was based in friendship, then there was a solid foundation to begin with, and that’s the reason I’m sorry (even sad) to see them break up. Drake was the last person (i.e boyfriend) that Adam will ever able to trust as someone who loved him as himself and not “adamlambert.” They were together before Idol and certainly Drake was there for Adam’s increasing celebrity, but whether he was dazzled/impressed/influenced by it or repulsed or intimidated, the relationship with Adam was something they both needed at the time. Adam was in no position to be “looking” much less “dating” (and he sure didn’t have the time!) and now he will be out there on his own with the “Hollywood” vultures and leeches who can “smell” vulnerability and longing on anything new and pretty that shows up. Oh, sure Adam will have fun being a kid in a candy store for awhile, but my greatest (and, in fact, only) fear for Adam is that he will wind up like Janis Joplin and (as she said) make love to 20,000 people a night on stage . . . then go home alone.

I think maybe there were looking at the future. Adam is going to have a lot of traveling ahead of him and will be in such big demand for Press. Maybe they decided it wouldn’t be fair to Drake to sit at home all the time while Adam was racing all over the world. I think everyone should be cool and leave them alone to sorts things out. Adam doesn’t need all this now. If they are meant to reunite they will when the time is right.

I know! Because everyone knows the only reason famous people break up is because of fame. Whereas the rest of us non-famous people NEVER break up when dating because we’re not famous, therefore no reasons. I mean we date once, it works out, we get married and never divorce. This must be the Unicorn Filled Magical World that is Adam’s Lisa Frank cover!

Because where I’m from relationships don’t work out all the time for a variety of reasons at a variety of stages. Better that Drake and Adam broke it before they had any real time invested and it hurts more.

I saw a nice quote about Drake, in a very long paragraph of thanks, from Adam made at the beginning of the tour. Yes, he Tweeted Perez that he was taken, because it seemed that Adam’s and Drake’s relationship had progressed to a committed one. Yes, I saw Adam saying there was another Drake in his life. I don’t know that I saw Adam being in love. I don’t know what Adam in love looks like, I don’t know Adam enough to know that. I only know from the public statements that Adam knew Drake for a while, but didn’t start seeing him, and then only casually until the middle of AI. Then sometime afterwards they seemed more committed from casual dating. And oy vey that I know all of this! But in love? How the hell would any of us know what that looks like for Adam? We’re not his friends or family. We see pictures. Though yes, Adam did seem happy at times with Drake. Okay, but happy =/= IN love.

Rose colored glasses anyone? I don’t know anything about the personal relationships Adam has and no one here does either. Adam is a touchy – feely person at times as are at some of his friends whom I have personally met. He always said he was just dating, nothing more. I took him at his word.

I think Adam’s jacket was cool. I was thinking he could be a less pretty Edward Scissorhands next year.

Yeah, the jacket was good, it was part of the infamous Michelin Man Meets Bob Big Boy shoot that the make-up person sent Tweets about, and one Tweet too much. Anyhew, yeah, jacket good, shirt good, hair good and glittery, face as sparkly as Edward Cullen’s in the sunshine and the make-up is interesting, but his expression/angle of the camera is not good for him. Unless he was trying to look like a really undead, dangerous, going to drain all the blood out of your body now, kind of vampire, in which case –job well done.

But a sexy glampire? not so much. Especially considering his Glampire looks from years past. So yeah, maybe Adam was feeling some stuff from the break-up. Love or committed or not, the guy is an affectionate person who says he wants love, so breaking up, amiable or not, isn’t fun. So maybe that’s why his Glampire isn’t sexy, but scary/fierce this year?

My last word on this subject because frankly it’s just not that interesting to me nor is it really any of my business.
As far as I can tell, the Adam-Drake thing really only got started right around the time that Adam was pretty busy with Idol, so I can’t imagine there was much time to devote to a budding relationship. Sure, they had that Santa Barbara getaway and probably a lot of texts, but even then Adam’s life was changing. Not like they could do that day to day stuff you have to get into as a relationship develops.
Then comes the tour, and once again though we saw Drake show up now and again there really wasn’t the time to solidify any lasting relationship. I woudl suspect it was pretty fun and exciting and sexy and satisfying. But it was what it was.
Then comes the whirlwind of working on the album, the adoring fans, the photoshoots, the famous friends. Drake either hangs on for the ride or realizes that this is not the ride he signed on for. It would take a pretty darn amazing person to be able to withstand the Adam storm.
So for the few of you who think this was some lifelong, once in a lifetime, deep romance and everlasting love that Adam will never recover from, relax. It ain’t that deep. Life goes on.
Sure it may sting, there may be some sadness, but they never even had the chance to be just a normal couple before Adam’s star rose. I truly believe he’ll be fine with them being “just friends.” For now, I think that’s probably the only thing he has time for.

Anyway, let me again put my vote behind Team Zadam! It’d be so logically fierce! Or fiercely logical, either way.

Oh so sad to hear that they broke up. Adam seems so happy with the relationship. But we know that for any relationship to work, time is key. Time to nurture and grow the relationship. Without time, no relationship will last.

We have come a long way in this country, when we are know discussing the love life of an openly gay singer. Sorry to hear of the breakup, because they seem to really care about one another. Hope their friendship will continue, because both seem to be really good people.

As for the comment on here about how of course Adam would dump the “dead weight” now that he’s famous, well, that’s a littke cynical, isn’t it? Famous people have the same sort of relationship issues as the non-famous. And there are famous people who have been married for a long time to people they met well before they were in the public eye, so those relationships can work.

Anyway, if it’s true that people dump their partner as soon as they become famous, wouldn’t that mean we should assume Kris and Katy will split up, too? Somehow, I don’t see that happening — (although again, since I know neither of them, I have no clue as to how solid their relationship is).

I don’t think his personal life is overshadowing his music. Adam was first noticed because of his voice and style, and that’s what people find so fascinating about him. Whether Adam goes out to dinner with a man or woman, it’s going to draw attention. Adam is not a one dimensional person, he has many facets to his personality. He won’t be boxed in or do what everyone expects his to do. He’s living the life he wants and to try to conform to what other people think would make him miserable. He’s an openly gay guy in Hollywood and he can’t get away from the fact that whatever he does not making the headlines. But what it comes down to, is that this man draws attention whether he’s on stage or not. He doesn’t blend in, he stands out and Adam likes it that way. Yes, Adam do talk about his friends and try to give them credit when he feels they deserve. Even if some of his friends are self-serving, his name is still being mentioned by famous people in the music business. If people are not talking about you, then they are not interested in you.

Well, manny I would say “great minds . . . etc., etc., ” but unfortunately, I think we’ve both (all) ventured more into “inquiring minds” territory! I, too, thot of Ferras: He and Adam went out to dinner the other nite and were at a party last nite — both times the two of them were together even tho they were out with a larger crowd. I can’t believe this is even a topic. OK, yes I can since people would sidetrack every other thread by talking about it.

I never got the impression that the Adam/Drake thing was much more than casual dating borne out of friendship. I also felt it was a matter of convenience. It’s much better PR-wise for a gay guy to be in a committed relationship than to be presumed to be bedding everything that walks.

I thought it was pretty low class for the friend or friend of a friend to make an announcement that they broke up. 15 minutes of fame.

People are way too invested in things that are none of their business.

I thought the same about Ferras. I took note when they went out to dinner (or was it lunch) a few days ago. Don’t know if he’s twinky enough for Adam but he can dress properly, is mad talented musically, and they seem to share more common interests than drake and Adam ever did.

I’m not afraid to admit that the “lives” of the rich and famous are a fun way for me to relieve some of the boredom or stress in my life. Heck, when I get together with my friends we “gossip” about our other friends, our co-workers, and the neighbor down the street whom I have never met.

Personally, I don’ think Adam is dating anyone else. I think the guy who posted was perhaps defensive when people gave him a bad time for posting about Adam and Drake breaking up. I think it was good that he did post it, as this saves Adam having to answer awkward questions.

I think Adam and Katy are the best of friends and I suspect he is very good friends with Ferras. I think this is a good time for Adam to be around good friends who love him. He’s about ready to launch his album and he needs a good circle of friends around him. I know he has his familly and longtime friends, but people like Katy and Lady GaGa know what it’s like on this fame roller coaster ride. In the celebrity world they do, also. Anyone who is naive to think we all live in the same world is in for a surprise. Gays still are fighting for the right to marry, but that is neither here nor there. It’s just not that much of a shock to me that they broke up.

It’s Sunday and All Saints day none the less and I am laughing at what you posted….I am going to burn in hell…….it’s so not right…..LOL

From what I understand, Ferras has been a good friend of Adam’s for years. Perhaps unlikely that they would suddenly hook up in a different way now I would think. I’m hoping for a really loving and supportive relationship for Adam, with someone fabulous, smart and classy and into music!!

Imma just going to reincarnate quickly, BRB…..

It got 33 first day, 9 yesterday. The numbers jpfan posted were the combined totals for the HAC and Pop stations. The other spins likely occurred on stations not tracked by types (probably dance or club stations).

You see it over and over: an attractive young actor or musician hits big, suddenly becomes a celebrity, and their life is full of stuff any of us regular mortals can’t fathom — photo shoots, fans demanding autographs, handlers, a breakneck schedule, and (of course) a whole lot of temptation from groupies (men, women, cats, squirrels — you name it).

I have no idea what went wrong with these two, or Kimberly and DC, or whomever. But especially in the crazy whirl Adam is in at the moment, it’s pretty hard to give your squeeze the attention they crave from you…..

I agree, though I didn’t equate that a Ferras/Adam pairing would come into play, seeing as they’ve been friends for a long time and have the same circle of friends. The Twitpic of them looks innocouos (sp?) to me, just 2 friends dolled up ready for their night out.

I thought the tweet would deter any OMG! assumptions that Adam would be ‘cheating’ just by shock!horror! talking to or even looking at another guy.

It’s sad timing for Adam, with his career just beginning to get started, and I hope with FYE being released it doesn’t take the shine off it too much for him.

No offense, but I find that offensive.

Me, too, but I do recognize that no offense was intended – this is such a common and wide-spread misconception.
My son is gay, and he is definitely not into the “come and go” mindset and is disdainful of those who are – just as there are straight guys into the “come and go” mindset.

If true, I hope Drake takes a page from Brad’s playbook and not “kiss and tell”. I am sure that he will be offered money to spill anything juicy about their shortlived romance. This goes for his family back in NO also who loved the spotlight and more than eager to share stuff via tweeter.

ITA- Just like a hetero man and woman who hang out can’t just be friends. NHP has known Adam for a long time. They both sang at the Upright Cabaret and NPH also was a guest judge this summer for the AI auditions. They have a lot to talk about

Not mid-twenties, 27. So he’s on the shady side of twenty. Not that it matters! Totally cool for people who meet who they want to marry when in their twenties or before, but personally I’ve always been more of the mind of waiting for real committment until your thirties. Maybe because I associate the late teens and twenties with going to school and starting ones career and establishing one’s personality outside as an adult. But that’s probably just me.

With Adam he started dating later than a lot of people 20/21 and now his career is taking off this past year, so I don’t expect him to settle down anytime soon because of that. I suspect he’ll continue to date, of course, but I’d be surprised if it was anything serious for a while.

I think this rule only applies to celebrities. And, it’s much worse for hetero’s. There is an entire tabloid industry based on relationships that do not exist. US Weekly and OK and the like routinely print pictures of 2 people who barely know each other having what is probably a casual conversation, then proclaim them the new “it” couple. Celebrities often joke about the fact that their rumored dating lives are more interesting than their real ones. So, I don’t expect the tabloid standard to be any different for celebrities who happen to be gay.

Adam should just get used to people constantly making up crap about his life. That just appears to be the way it is in LA.

At one point when Adam was being interviewed on the red carpet of the This Is It premiere, Neil Patrick Harris was standing alone in the middle of the carpet looking over at Adam. I thought he was waiting for his interview time, but know I wonder. I feel Katy Perry was the “beard” for the evening for Adam and NPH. I know Adam says he likes them young and smaller than him, but NPH is doing very well-he is on a hit show, he is a sought after emcee, he is rich and he recently broke up with his long time boyfriend-so he is free….. Who knows what may happen?

LOL to the NPH match up coz I think all of us fans may be jumping the gun a little in pairing Adam up so soon after the alleged “split up” with Drake?! On the other hand, Adam may have a lot of respect for NPH as he has for all his peers in the entertainment scene so getting together with him, I don’t think so!

I just hope that Adam is not too “heartbroken” over this whole affair and is single minded in focusing on his fledging career instead. I would think that at this point, his schedule must be so jam packed that he would hardly have time to hold down a relationship.
