Adam on Oprah!!!! When!!!!! Love the EW article…. just makes me Want his album more…..

Adam’s got some really cool and intriguing song titles in “Strut,” “Loaded Smile,” and “Suburban Decay.” I love his description of all the songs too, especially “Loaded Smile.” They must feel pretty confident about all the songs mentioned in the article being on the album, right?

Randy Jackson tweeted this yesterday…it sounds like he might be a part of the Oprah taping too.

Loaded Smile and What do you want from me, both sound like my type of music. His songs sound like you can connect emotionally with them. I love songs that make you feel powerful emotions. I can’t wait, I am starting to understand why all of those people are raving about Adam and the songs. The songs have substance, not full of fluff and nothingness.

I cannot wait to hear these songs. They all sound fantastic. I hope we will get to know the date Adam will be on Oprah. She is gonna Love Adam. Those songs sound amazing. I pre-ordered 2 copies. And I pre-ordered the 2012 c d. I can’t wait to hear any song Adam will put out.

Psyched about The Darkness dude being involved in his music. And after watching a crazy glam-inspired Max Martin video yesterday, I’m much more excited about him being involved. And why not a Pink/Max song? It works for me. Man, I am so excited!

Well, if they are taping Oprah today it must be airing in the not too distant future.

So we know of about 6 songs now? (counting the un-named song from Alisan’s tweet) I am also guessing at least one by RedOne and something from Teddar will make the album.

I wonder how well he knew MJ. MJ’s friend, choreographer, and director of his movie is supposed to be on today (second segment). Randy could possibly be part of today.

I wonder who else is going to be on with Adam. I hope they’re people who have some talent, instead of those being followed around by cameras. I wish they could put shows like AI in their own category, like competition shows, talent shows, or something to indicate they are not lumped in with shows like Jon and Kate…

OMFG this is huge for him. When u get Oprah’s attention u know you’ve done something right…perhaps she feels like most of his fans do about him not winning (while Kris is a great guy and has undeniable talent everyone knows Adam is the better singer)…I for one dont understand how soooo many ppl went to go see him on tour and how that didnt translate into votes…perhaps it was BECAUSE he didnt win….maybe that ultimately helped him gain support…u never know…

Thanks mj for the great article. There is a woman or girl on AO that claims she will be at the show. So apparently the taping will be today, but I don’t know yet when it will aired. I can’t wait to hear a song in it’s entirety.

Hopefully, in Adam’s segment on Oprah, they’ll warm up the crowd with a song from the show showcasing his incredible voice and focus on how the show catapulted him from a virtual unknown to having a huge excited fan base. Oprah tends to focus on the positive, so we can hope, right?

From what I understand, Adam hasn’t hopped a plane to Chicago, he’ll be interviewed via Skype from Los Angeles.

I’m a little annoyed about the Skype thing – less than stellar visuals there. He’s in LA, for pete’s sake, not backwoods Arkaaa… Missouri, so why not just send a damn camera crew or send him to a local station for a satellite interview?? Maybe she’ll make up for it by having him on for a full episode later in the year once she finds out how in demand he is.

I’m excited to hear Adam’s album, the way he describes these songs is very intriguing. I do worry about whether there is any thread running through these or whether the album is going to be a collection of songs with no real connection between them. I prefer albums that have some sort sort of theme or cohesiveness to them, rather than ones that come off as a bunch of potential singles tosased onto an album. Still, either way, I’m really looking forward to hearing this.

I would bet the Oprah thing will air next week? They don’t usually tape things way in advance of air dates do they?

Where did the info come from that this had anything to do with “Reality” shows. I guess I missed that tidbit of info. I was thinking she would showcase the DonorsChoose project he was involved in as well as his overnight popularity, etc. She’s big on charity and that is right up her alley.

Yes indeed. My neighbor and I have already decided we must go to the movie just for this. Whether we stay for Michael or not just depends on how compelling the rest of the movie is. Funny, I’ve never gone to a movie before just to see a trailer, but I got to see him on the big screen. It’s just too good.

I didn’t realize that Speidi and the Kardashians “competed” for anything on their shows. As far as I know, those shows aren’t contests. I can imagine she might have someone from “So You Think You Can Dance”, “America’s Got Talent”, “Project Runway”, “Top Chef” and yes, maybe “The Amazing Race” or “Survivor”. We know she’s at least got “American Idol” covered, so cool!

I’m happy that Adam will be on the show. If being on Oprah can do for him what it did for Michael Buble last week, he went to #1 and is still there, it will be great! Taylor Swift was featured on Oprah’s show on Wednesday, and she jumped up 50 places on Amazon in 24 hours!

I love Adam ´s descriptions of the songs. So Adam I am excited!!!

I bought my ticket to MJ’s movie. My boss saw my fandago print out and said, I didn’t know you were a big fan of MJ. I am surprised. And I stammered and said, Um, yeah, a read an article about him in the New Yorker and it was interesting (which it was), and…um… I couldn’t tell him about TFM b/c he would have laughed at me (tho he is the one who gave me the RS with Adam on the cover, b/c I could not find one. I have since subscribed). I am not seeing it an iMax theatre, but it is a big one with staidum seating and surround sound.

WHEN WILL WE HEAR TFM in its entirety? SUNDAY? I want this bloody album to come out more than anyone ever. I want to download it THIS MOMENT and every bonus track as well. It’s insane.

just read the article from EW…the little tidbit about him having an “identity crisis” was interesting even though it was barely mentioned…
it seems he’s going the more “rock” route which I think is an excellent choice for him, especially coming off a show like American Idol…
if he wants t do future projects that are a complete departure from what he’s doing now then cool, awesome…for me anything he does is high quality but to do that he needs more time than just a couple more months…thats just insane not only for the producers and songwriters but it takes a toll on his voice because he cant afford on taking a lot of breaks to rest…he has to get it done in very few takes, which thankfully is easy for him because his voice is practically limitless but for other past idols I can see this as a real obstacle…Kris’s vocal style is more easygoing so I dont think its a problem for him either and Allison is 17 so we wouldnt expect her to be doing tracks like “Cry Baby” just yet…hopefully this all means we are in store for some great music.

Do you mean the themes of songs, or the sound? Because it sounds like he’s got a clear path for his sound.

Ugh. Yes, I agree with you BestAI. I never understood why it was called a reality show when it is a competition.

eta: just read some of the earlier posts explaining this. i had a different def of reality show. don’t really watch a lot of these shows.

And does Adam ever want you to want all 28 tracks….drool baby drool, but we aren’t going to get a double set for 9.99 dudes and dudettes. so, we will have to come back to the trough the next time around and pay for more, but boy oh boy (pretty boy oh boy) will we.

As to cohesiveness on the CD? Accept that every track will be nirvana when we hear that snake charmer silky sound wash over us….anything else is just window dressing, and since it’s all Adam…that’s pretty f………amazing too.

Seems that they also are anxious to hear what his album will sound like (and if it will have enough rock in it so they can keep him on their lists!) — although they are much more patient (and dignified) then us poor souls. We have completely lost it…and I include myself in this.

I find “WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?” a bit telling. Listen to what he says about it, “… this whole thing is a little freaked out, please have some faith in me because I won’t disappoint you”. It must be hard to hang on to the reality of his life right now with his career streaking across the world faster than Halley’s Comet! He frequently mentions how surreal his life seems at the moment! He hardly has time to take a breath let alone assess what is going on in all aspects of his life, (good-bye privacy!) sooo important that he is in good hands right now! And as far as “disappoint” I don’t think so, he puts 110% of himself in everything he does and I think this is one of the songs that he will definitely emotionally connect to. Can’t wait to hear it! Do you remember when we waited everyweek what Adam will do next Tuesday? If there are 14 songs left over, I wish he could release it one per week, every Tuesday again after Album is released. That will hold us for 3 more months

Now that I think about it, I think it is still too early in Adam’s career to be Oprah’s main guest. Wait till his album is out, and he makes a few other appearances. Fan expectations and not wanting to disappoint us are definitely on Adam’s mind. In this quote, from the Star Magazine Anniversary Party, he acknowledges the presales finally!

I was interested in this, too. I sounds like maybe a subtle shift from pre tour. I ain’t complainin’ because I love me some rock vocals, and rock guitars. My only hope is that he manages to keep it fun. Glam rock, of course, is thoroughly fun, but sometimes weaker classic rock can take itself a little too seriously (i apologize for saying it, but I’m not sure TFM, much as I love the godly vocals, quite escapes that fate). What I love, Love, LOVE about Adam is how much FUN he’s always having, how he doesn’t take himself too seriously. Whatever its weaknesses, that playfulness is one of electropops strengths, and I hope its very evident in his album.

Lol, I posted this quote in one of the epic day threads. My reaction was awww I just want to give him a big hug. He does really seem to want to please us but wants to do his own thing too so we will see. Its a balancing act.

I like Adam’s thinking that his voice will be what ties it all together. Personally, I think it will be awesome to have a buffet of assorted Adam delectables on his CD. That was his M.O. on the show and one of the things so many of his fans loved about him — the fact that he could sing so many different styles and that he changed things up from week-to-week. It’s only fitting that his first CD offer a variety of sounds. And I love the idea of electro-metal. Very, very fresh!

Very good points re: your whole post midwifespal. I love that about him too. I like that he wants to have fun and make his music fun. He can laugh at himself and all the craziness going on around him and he lets the criticism slide right by him.

One more thing I love about him is whenever he is interviewed and someone mentions a fan hates this or are fighting about that. He directly addresses it and says there should be of that.

Thank but not really my birthday…. just my horoscope for today.

There was a lot of presure to move the Britney album up in front of Veterans Day which is 11/11/09 — because it is not an impulse item (expensive) and the retailers wanted it in the store for the Veterans Day events. I don’t know if this is why they moved it to 11/10 but it makes more sense than avoiding Adam, SuBo and Lady Gaga on 11/24/09.

Out Magazine — Adam is in the Out 100, I am almost certain that there were tweets about the photo session for this ad it was in NY.

The cover for the Out 100 was multiple people last year — Gus Van Sant, Katy Perry, Sam Sparro and Cheyenne Jackson. I would not be surprised to see Adam on a shared cover for 2009.

I don’t remember all the details (although I’m sure someone around here has it fully documented), but he flew to L.A. for like one day during the tour for a long photo shoot and we couldn’t figure out what it was for because he had already shot the album cover.

He left on a private jet from Kansas City, MO and fly to LA immediately after the KC Idols Live! concert.

The LA shoot could have been Details, but they almost always use fashion photographers and their HQ is in NY. It’s not impossible that they used an LA photographer, but I doubt it.

LA says to me it was either Rolling Stone or related to “2012″. It needs to be something big because it was a long shoot. It was a long as the Sebree shoot and that was several looks.

He is also in Elle — on sale 11/17/09, too!

ETA: I am expecting Adam to be featured in US Mag, too. It’s owned by Wenner Media (along with Rollling Stone) and clearly Jann Wenner is an Adam fan. That should be another fashion-lifestyle-celebrity piece vs. music focus.

There was def an Adam photoshoot in LA on 8/31/09 — in the morning he had his hair redone. (Oh, I can’t believe that I remember this!) There were several reports about it — but no photographer or location ID’d.

Since they were shooting after 9:00PM, it was probably a studio session and 9 + hour shoot = a feature article or something else with multiple looks. IMO it is NOT “Details” mag.

Nope, not positive. This is pure speculation on my part. All we know is he did have a shoot between 31 Aug (and possibly) 1st Sept. This could have been for Out magazine. Or maybe, to save time he did both shoots consecutively.

Watched Oprah ‘“ the Tyson stuff was pretty intense. Nate is on Monday, so Adam would be Tuesday at the earliest.

The TII stuff was OUTRAGEOUS though. Wow, now I’m getting excited for the movie. And yes, I’m extrapolating, but I’m sorry, Sony would NOT go there (meaning having Adam “open” for Michael) if he thought he was going to be upstaged. Yes!! I couldn’t quite fit in how this would all play out. I kind of thought they were underplaying Adam’s popularity and reach by Skyping him in on a “reality show” show. Everyone who thinks the demo is fuddy-duddy and Adam shouldn’t do it, besides not thinking short or long-term sales wise –doesn’t understand the Oprah power. Everyone selling anything, especially in show biz is looking for any means possible to get on there. 20 million viewers. And that monster web site. Good enough for Beyonce, good enough for Adam.

The only risk is the same as the upside – if something astonishing happens on Oprah, be that good or bad, it’s sprayed all over the mainstream media. (Remember Tom Cruise jumping on the couch….)

Oprah asked him whether he’d come back to sing something at a later date and he said ‘I really hope so’ . Had the feeling Oprah really wants him on the show. He was asked about whether he was upset that he didn’t win and he gave the usual answer, that no, he still got everything he wanted.

I wouldn’t put any stock into the verbiage ET uses to promote the story. They tend to make even the simple act of changing a tire sound salacious and scandalous. It’s why I “fianlly” couldn’t take it anymore and had to quit watching a year or so ago.

There is a very active fake Kris Allen twitter out there-confuse lots of people cause it very hard to tell because the i and the lowercase l look so alike

When you think that Adam can’t get any hotter. Now I know for sure Laura Saltman was talking about Adam’s Details’ cover because she was fanning herself after she said she’s not sure if she is ready for this. I bet she had the cover, but can’t reveal it until Oct. 20.

I didn’t know too much about Details magazine so I wikied it.

The magazine has been described as Vogue for men, though a men’s edition of that title has also launched since the revamping of Details.

Though primarily a magazine devoted to fashion and lifestyle, Details also features reports on relevant social and political views. Politically the publication appears to take a libertarian view.

I hope they have some fashion shots of Adam inside. Suits, casual clothes, etc. I also hope there is an interview. Very exciting news.

Now that Details and Elle are coming around the corner, is it too much to hope for Vanity Fair? I don’t know if he would get a cover, but I would love Adam to get a photo shoot in Vanity Fair. Especially when they dress the subject (i.e. Adam) in period clothing. I would love to see all of the different looks. Plus Vanity Fair has terrific writers.
