More Adam Lambert news this early morning 11/14:

  • Scans of the cover and interview featuring Adam Lambert in the Out magazine special “Out 100″ issue   right HERE.   He’s on the cover, with a few other notable out-and-proud celebrities.   via LiveJournal That interview was just a taste. Look for a much longer Q&A (& better quality photos) next week.
  • There’s a rumor that director Jamie King and associate director Stafanie Roos is set to work with Adam Lambert, directing his upcoming TV appearances and tour performances.   King directed the tours of pop stars Britney Spears, Madonna and Rihanna.   Unfortunately, the only source I have for this news is the Examiner.com, which is notoriously unreliable.   So, kids, I’m calling it RUMOR until verified by a reliable source.
  • UPDATE: The Jamie King rumor has been verified by his management HERE.

Well those quotes were truncated to hell. So much for ‘in-depth interview’ because no part of what I saw was. Hell, Details had a better and more in-depth of interview of Adam. And even Details didn’t chop up quotes of his to supposed questions we never saw.

Jeebus, OUT and Elle both utterly failed. In terms of their interviews AND pictures. The pictures in OUT were pretty pedantic as well.

Not even joking, but Details has had the best, artisically speaking shoot of Adam mag. spreads thus far.

So yeah, FAIL to Elle AND OUT right now.

    Lames and sad.

finally some publicity in magazine of his target audience.

    What you mean gay people?

  • Crayonas

And I agree, he looks hot because, well, it’s Adam. But I don’t know, the pictures look kinda…amateurish or something. And I wouldn’t call THAT an interview.

    What the fuckery was this?

  • LuvAdam476

I was expecting a full layout of a photoshoot in Elle Mag. I love the 3 pics on the one page, but where is the rest of the shoot? Where is the interview?

So far Rolling Stone Magazine and Details Magazine win hands down, for artistic photos and in depth interviews. We all know there is a lot to Adam and not only do we want to see this beautiful man in pics, but we know he is intelligent and would like more in depth interviews to learn more about Adam.

Is that to much to ask for?

  • Truthiness

    What the fuckery was this?

Seriously, what the actual feck was that crap? Because I still have ZERO idea about what the actual feck Adam was talking about with that quote of his about pagents and whatever. Which doesn’t surprise me because obviously it was chopped up, the question is never referenced, all of his few actual quotes, are just put in there in front of a picture of him. So much for some interview talking about things honestly and blah blah blah, because I think US Weekly gives the same kind of interviews and length of quotes. But at least no on pretends that US Weekly is really going to answer questions about someone.

MAN that Tweet is even more annoying, because there is STILL no context for the quote or the question or any-fraking-thing.

Wow, OUT, you might just take Elle’s EPIC FAIL crown away from them yet.

  • LuvAdam476

    Truthiness:
I remember seeing an interview with Adam where he talks about the pagentry on Idol and didn’t want any part of it. That was why he did his own thing. He didn’t want to be like everyone else.

  • VegasGirl

He looks so cute on the cover. Love his facial expression. Didn’t the interviewer say there was going to be an in depth interview onlne?

That’s cool, and? Because this quote, this “interview,” didn’t tell me a goddess damned thing about it. There is no context in THIS interview. No context or meaning in THIS quote(s). And frankly these pictures are also pedantic as hell. WTF is this meaning about “school days”? Because besides what they assigned people in terms of their lame quotes/roles, the pictures have nothing to do with those things and are DULL DULL DULL.

Tiny, plastic, Jeebus, but these pictures and “interview,” are only slightly less bad than Elles. But considering the Elle pictures give Tiger Beat a run for their money, that’s saying a lot, is it?

  • LuvAdam476

    Truthiness:
Look I haven’t read the magazine. Someone put up on twitpic the cover of Out, pg 2 and pg 3 with article. I’m not the editor or publisher and don’t know WTH “school days” is about. Guess I would have to see the entire magazine and see what the theme is for the month or whatever.

If you read my comment above I stated I love to see pics of Adam, but there is more to him than meets the eye. I myself would really like some indepth interviews and learn more about Adam the person. I know he is gorgeous and talented and hot as hell, but he is also intelligent, articulate and knows what he wants. I admire that and would really love to read more about him through a really nice in-depth interview.

I’m witih you. I was VERY disappointed in Elle. I thought there was going to be an entire layout from a photo shoot that took an entire day. So WTH happened?

  • Destry

Too bad the Rolling Stone photo shoot had to be the first. I don’t think it will ever be topped

This is it for this magazine, though. Nothing personal to either one of us, but these pictures and the randomly, mad-lib quotes on the side of one of the pictures, are it for “in-depth interview,” for Adam and that’s it for pictures. He has part of the cover. Nice picture of him, dull cover. A picture for the articles list and then one for the part where they could put out of context, meaningless text from and about Adam. Hu-frakin’zah.

I mean seriously, Details and Rolling Stone are kicking the ass out of Elle and OUT magazine in terms of good pictures and actual interviewing. This is not what I expected. But please OUT magazine reporter talking about how Details didn’t have the only scoop about Adam? Well at this point? and RS aside, yeah they actually do. So yeah OUT magazine failbots, shut up.

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ adamaloha

I like the cover. It’s got a sense of humor and Adam stands out as the prettiest of the bunch. It’s great for him to be acknowledged as a breakout star in the gay community.

The interview was interesting and to me needed no other context. I had no trouble with what he said. None. I didn’t find it pedantic at all.
Just another great showcase for HBIC. Could there have been more? Sure. We’re all pretty greedy when it comes to anything Adam. But remember he’s sharing the spotlight with 5 other “breakouts.” He can’t have all the ink! :)

He looks beautiful and comes across as honest and intelligent. That’s what matters to me.

  • soverymel

I think he looks gorgeous, and I love that we got a bonus pic of Adam over the table of contents. I think the pictures have striking angles and shadows, and for me a hint of the moodiness that captures the feel of “school days” (the theme) that resonates not only for those dealing with being gay and coming out at that time in their lives, but for anyone who struggled with acceptance in high school in general.

As for the article, I think I thought it was going to be in depth too (I vaguely remember the writer tweeting about it, maybe) but in retrospect the previews of others like NPH and Kelly McGillis were no different from this. Maybe she’s doing a longer interview for the online version? Anyway, if this is all we get for Out I’m happy, I’ll just keep looking at the pretty and LOLing at how many times he manages to say fuck in one column, especially after the debate for the nth time over his dirty mouth in the last day. Heh.

Elle was a fail after all that twitter buildup. But for me, seeing him on the cover with people that I completely respect, and looking so beautiful in the pics, Out is just lovely.

ETA: Also I really look forward to seeing versions of the cover and photos that aren’t grainy scans. It’s like trying to make a final judgement off a 30 second song snippet, LOL.

MJ, sorry I don’t understand. Is there another, separate issue or just more in the issue we’re looking at right now?

I wonder if it was really necessary to drop four F-bombs in four short paragraphs … Adam has always been more articulate than that, I’m disappointed that he is displaying vulgarity in his speech. I’ve been a huge Adam fan, mostly for his voice, but also partly because he was always so classy in speech, dress, and manner … not so much anymore.

According to the journalist who conducted the interview, there will be a longer Q&A with Adam in next week’s Out.

You may be referring to this:

    http://begaylittlebird.com/post/242749872/i-just-wanted-to-be-really-careful-that-it-didnt

“‘I just wanted to be really careful that it didn’t turn into a fucking pageant. I can sing my face off. All this other stuff is part of a personality, a persona.’
    ‘”
adam lambert in the next issue of out.

a heads up from shana: it’s a big issue in which 100 people were all (beautifully) photographed in the theme of ‘school days,’ so there (sadly) won’t be pages and pages of sexy photos. it wasn’t quite appropriate or practical.

what you will get is a very long transcript of our very candid interview: talking about life inside idol, outside in the real world, and in the middle of the love game. out soon.”

By the way, it says a very long transcript. Doesn’t say it will be wide. ;)

  • Truthiness

Well I hope so, because what in this issue is weak sauce.

I wonder if it was really necessary to drop four F-bombs in four short paragraphs ‘ ¦

That’s assuming that those 4 sentences were part of 4 very short paragraphs, which they obviously were not. They didn’t need ellipses to denote it, but the “interview,” in this magazine was clearly a bunch of stuff cobbled together with little to no context. Groovy! I guess the actual interview is next week. Meanwhile, not impressed.

  • erinnthered

More in the issue you’re looking at’ ¦is how I understood it.

Usually each of the featured people get a page, and that includes the photo. I’m pretty sure that’s it for Adam in this issue. If anyone gets a full article it’s usually someone who’s a real figurehead or power player. Like a David Geffen or Ellen Degeneres or Tom Ford.

ETA: I see janus has it covered.

(This is part of the ETA, not a reply to mj – hope there wasn’t confusion) This issue is not about Adam. It’s about 100 people who are “game changers” and icons who happen to be GLBT. Be happy he made the list. It’s considered an honor.

Seriously. This cover was soooo dull and done. I’ve seen this cover for years now and this year’s is non-impressive. I guess I was just expecting more given, again, given previous work. Why is it that other years are better than this year? Have they sacked all the good people? is that it?

  • 4Msrmyn

The author has a twitter account name shananaomi. “Look for longer Q&A next week” Is OUT a weekly mag? Do they have OUT online? Maybe online, I think. She said she could only give 50 words because of 100 people to interview.

  • NewFan

I’m disappointed that he is displaying vulgarity in his speech. I’ve been a huge Adam fan, mostly for his voice, but also partly because he was always so classy in speech, dress, and manner ‘ ¦ not so much anymore.

The F “bomb” isn’t even much of a ‘pop’ anymore. It’s a, not too vulgar, not too meaningful, not very shocking, commonly used, adjective.

Now if, on the other hand, he were using the “C” word … that would shock and offend me.

  • tinydance

In the Rolling Stone interview a couple of months previous he said he had been in love only once. In this interview he said “I have only been in love twice”.

  • NewFan

Also, Adam’s pose looks out of place with everyone else.

    erinnthered:

I looked at it and immediately thought the same thing. His visage is so much more posed, uptight and ‘stoney’ faced than we’re used to seeing. He looks uncomfortable while everyone else looks friendly and relaxed. And he’s the only one who’s body is facing out of the picture and away from the group which makes him look standoffish or outcast and, as you say … out of place. Weird. I’m not sure what the photographer was playing at.

edit: oooops. Looked again and he’s not the only one with his body turned to face out of the group

  • lola

Out of place, lame, not impressed…so much negativity. But you can’t deny that it’s still publicity whether it’s good or bad. I think he’s in a better position because press go after him and not the other way around.

  • 4Msrmyn

The word “twice” definitely stood out for me. Also, noticed the “f” word.
Seems like there has been more swearing lately.

  • erinnthered

Of all the Idol contestants to get the “OMG HE/SHE’S SWEARING!!!eleven!!!one!!!” response, I never thought it would be Adam. This is shocking to people?

He like Burning Man and admitted to cocaine use. He may be very “safe,” but he never came off as wholesome.

I hope he gets caught smoking. lol

Cue a bazillion Kradam fics over the “twice” thing. I’m sure he just misspoke in the first interview because it sounded more dramatic.

  • NewFan

so much negativity. But you can’t deny that it’s still publicity whether it’s good or bad.

Just my impression, but the quotable swearing seems deliberate. Maybe to change sweet apple pie image to more of an adult like FYE. Maybe to be less like AI.

  • http://www.thelambrits.co.uk Starryeyed

Just adding my tuppence worth…I think he looks gorgeous. The photos inside are perhaps not as daring as we might like or be used to but they are pretty none the less and do capture the high school theme a bit. The cover though I think is quite striking, well he is. Someone mentioned up thread that he was the only one facing away from the group, like an outcast but I don’t see that. I think he is more engaged than the guy on the right, also facing outwards, because his actually looking so directly at the camera. And I love that cool-guy slouch against the wall! Well, either way, my eyes were drawn to him (I know, I’m biased but still). It’s no mean feat that he can still stand out on that cover when he’s sharing it with Cyndi Lauper! I also think it is telling that he is so poised on this cover. The others look great, and natural yes, but Adam is a born cover boy methinks (along with born singer, entertainer, performer… boy has a cracking CV!).

  • http://www.thelambrits.co.uk Starryeyed

The swearing doesn’t really bother me that much. I would have trouble convincing myself that, sweetheart though he, Adam was not a little bit of a rebel child! Edgy with a smile people, that’s all it is. We know he can be articulate and gentlemanly when it matters, I wouldn’t worry he’d ever swear in front of your President or our Queen (hey he could meet them, it could happen!!!). And I agree, 4Msrmyn, it’s setting him apart from the idol cookie-cutter image that so many have.

Smoking?…please no Adam. We love your voice, need your voice! :-) I hope he protects it well!

  • will

Rolling Stone: “I’ve only been in love once.” Out: “I’ve only been in love twice.” Possible explanation: He fell in love with Drake in the interim? Before he broke up with him that is? Just a thought.

Just my impression, but the quotable swearing seems deliberate.

    I agree.

  • 4Msrmyn

will-never saw that as serious. That TMZ kiss seemed to put an end to it.

  • Janus

Just my impression, but the quotable swearing seems deliberate. Maybe to change sweet apple pie image to more of an adult like FYE. Maybe to be less like AI.

I think we’re actually seeing the real Adam. For example, when he was fighting to wear the the infamous “flaming headdress” for his Zodiac Show performance, he said “I want to come out with this thing, and have flames coming out of my fucking head.” He even drops the “C” word in one of his pre-idol songs. He’s not a choirboy and doesn’t speak like one. Of course he had to censor himself for the TV show.
But it really shouldn’t come as such a surprise to anyone who has followed him that he swears and probably as a matter of course in normal conversation. In a recent 2012 interview where he’s simply talking about his nail polish among other things, his language is peppered with swear words. He’s probalby not much different than his brother Neil, and really, have you read his blog?! Yes, Adam can clean it up when he needs to, but I suspect that he usually swears quite a bit.

  • 4Msrmyn

Janus-I don’t disagree with you. I just don’t remember interviews during the AI show and tour with swearing. Now there is swearing. He doesn’t suddenly have less control over his mouth. This seems purposeful to me.

  • justjude

Adams language only slightly startled me!. I think he Suss’s out the interviewer and goes with that. In this case he would be relaxing into a familiar arena “OUT”, and, they are his comfort zone. He belongs in that club, and probably felt at home ,enough, to just sound like a friendly peer.
I remember my Mother telling me that there are no BAD WORDS just
people who do not have a extensive vocabulary. I was 12 when she
handed me “Lady Chatterly’s Lover”. She explained that I would often see “that 4 letter word” in the book. She wanted me to read it because
it had been banned, at one time, and that she thought the banning of books was very wrong. I think she had strong feeling about banning
literature, because of, using the actual words that people speak!!
So, while I can swear like a Salty old Sea Dog, generally I choose not to.
I love that the words can be pulled out for rare emphasis when needed or, I just want to!!!!!HEEE!!!

  • jms

Unfortunately, the only source I have for this news is the Examiner.com, which is notoriously unreliable. So, kids, I’m calling it RUMOR until verified by a reliable source.

LOL Considering that the examiner.com are lying liars that lie I don’t think this should even qualify as a rumor.

  • soverymel

    This seems purposeful to me.

To me it’s only purposeful in the sense that he’s not editing himself for language like you do for nuns, small children and Idol.

For example for several years after leaving home I never said the word fuck in front of my parents. Everything else, but that was a word that never passed their lips when I was growing up. So regardless of the fact that I pretty much used fuck as preposition around my friends, I bit it back around my family. Then my Mom said fuck once. And we all laughed. We’d all been editing ourselves. Now I still use the word more sparingly at home than I do in daily life, but things feel more natural around my family now without that constraint.

Long story short, for those of us that do throw a fuck into practically every sentence even when talking about something as mundane as the weather, editing that out is totally easy but feels slightly “not you.” The longer I’m around someone and the more comfortable I feel, the dirtier my mouth gets. The OUT journalist (and for that matter, the Rolling Stone journalist) sound like really cool people that Adam probably felt really comfortable with.

    Just a theory.

Okay, back to looking at the pretty pictures.

we are just starting to see the real adam.. dats what he is. he knows when he needs to be a little tamed and knows when not. he is so smart and intelligent and very much aware of what is happening around him. just like what his mom said about him being hyperactive, he is not accdg to the dr, he is just precocious(if im not mistaken). and im loving evrything about him. love him or hate him dats it. well, but i love him.

soverymel-I think I get what you’re saying. Sort of speaking the same language as the interviewer. I wasn’t criticizing Adam. Just thinking about the change in recent interviews.
Back when his brother was doing Negative Neil, he had a letter from Uncle Dave (I think) about Thanksgiving in his blog. The uncle was complaining about Neil’s behavior. The hilarious thing about it was that nearly every other word was some variation of the “f” word.
I don’t know if anyone else remembers this, but I’d be happy for anyone to tell me if I got anything wrong.

  • http://www.irish-wolfhounds.com Buderschnookie

I think the cover pose is intentionally school boyish as he is the freshman of the bunch. Wearing a suit he has outgrown, Mom tied his tie and used spit to fix his hair and kicked him into frame saying “stand up straight while they take your picture”. It is totally appropriate for the theme.

As far as language- ha. I seriously don’t think he is being anything other than 100% himself. The only thing purposeful was when he didn’t do it on Idol in order to protect the delicate ears of America.

I have a serious potty mouth, and have often said “fuck” when I shouldn’t have only to grab my mouth and say “Shit! Crap! Sorry!” making it 10 times worse. It’s a word and I am firmly in the camp of “words only have power that you give them”.
    Fuck has no power.
    Language evolves.
When I can look in a dictionary and see that “orientated” is now an acceptable word (as opposed to the correct “oriented”) then I know all bets are off.
    And forecasted?
    Don’t get me started.

    He is Adam being Adam.
    Expect more, and worse.

  • alwaysintrouble

I am LOLingg at the people shocked that Adam, a 27 year old man who has been a resident of WeHo for 8 years, swears. That’s classically hysterical. I’m a 41 year old white chick who works a 9-5 job and I swear like a sailor.

He looks hot on the cover, imo, hotter and more charismatic than the others. My eyes are immediately drawn to him in that picture.

Him saying he’s been in love twice made me awww for him because if he fell in love with Drake and then it didn’t work out that’s sad for him.

  • soverymel

I think I get what you’re saying. Sort of speaking the same language as the interviewer. I wasn’t criticizing Adam. Just thinking about the change in recent interviews.

Oh I didn’t think you were criticizing! It just seemed from the way you worded it that you thought Adam might be purposely adding more fucks than normal. My point was just a twist of your thought, that he’s not making the effort to add them, he’s just finally relieving himself of the effort to edit them out.

The hilarious thing about it was that nearly every other word was some variation of the ‘f’ word.

I totally remember that old post with the comment from “Unca Dave” LOL. That was hilarious, he wrote fuck like 7 or 8 times in about 2 sentences. I got the feeling this might be a fairly accurate impression/mocking of what Neil sounded like when he was being shitty to everyone that day. While we’ve only caught glimpses of the Lambert family, I suspect that the word fuck is used by most of them, and probably pretty liberally by Adam and Neil.

  • KMF

I’m reading the posts and Adam can’t make a move with out being criticized. People are criticizing the way he is posing on the magazine cover, dropping the “F” bomb, which isn’t that offensive. My God, leave the poor guy alone. He’s human, and just wants to be an entertainer. I find it refreshing that he speaks his mind and is proud of who he is.

  • mayang

@soerymel, can you tell me about that “Unca Dave” thing. i think i relaly missed that. pls tell. wat happened. all i know is that adam beat neil verbally in an arguement in the car. pls elaborate. tnx.

I’m disappointed that he is displaying vulgarity in his speech. I’ve been a huge Adam fan, mostly for his voice, but also partly because he was always so classy in speech, dress, and manner ‘ ¦ not so much anymore.

Have you been around people lately, especially young people?. These words that were “unpronounceable” for people of older generations do not have now the marked meaning they used to have. They are just interjections. The world is changing. The King of Spain told a latin american president, in an international event which was being broadcasted, “Why don ´t you shut up?” This would have been an unthinkable reaction for a King in the past.

  • Squirrely

    I love the cover!

  • sagi

I find no offense in the word “fuck” as an adjective, and admit I use it often when I am around people I am at home with. I can omit it in my speech in front of children or around people or places where I don’t feel comfortable saying it (as not to offend) The only way I would find the word offensive if it was a verbal attack, like Fuck You or You fucker, when meant to attack instead of being used candidly.

  • saga

Just read the article and I think he should reign the swearing in a bit when doing interviews. Not offended but it does stand out and he comes off a bit aggressive. It takes away from the message if used too much imo. Didn’t like this interview, it seemed chopped. The photos are great though and I love the cover.

And to the people shocked by the F bomb- really? He has thrown it around many times before, this is nothing new. He did in the RS story, and I also think he did it in that interview this week with the guy with the nailpolish.

  • Squirrely

I just checked Amazon and Adam’s pre idol album broke into the top 100s it’s at 99.

FYE album is at #6 on Amazon and #26 on itunes

The single is #58 on itunes

I think the Out pictures are really lovely.

…if i lose some fans, fuck it. i need to be happy too.

Yes Adam, if you are not happy then none of it is worth it. I do love his honesty and candor, and yeah it may cost him some fans but at least he can live his life without looking over his shoulder and worrying about what he can and cannot say.

  • aa618892

mayang- yes those numbers are good. They are all better than just last night.

I cannot see any of these pictures, is there another way. I keep getting the bandwidth message?

Speaking of Amazon- someone over at IDF did scan those pages from RS and EW saying Adam’s presale was the most for ANY idol.

I know physical CD’s is the most popular still, but back in Clay Aiken’s day Itunes was just getting started, Amazon ruled the roost with presales. So if he beat Clay and David at Amazon, he should have pretty good numbers, shouldn’t he?

And dyg- does that bandwith really mean too many hits? How come other people are seeing it?

  • cmc25

Saga-I am with you on this “fuck” word. It’s maybe acceptable in US but it’s definitely offensive and a total turn off in Asia.

  • Squirrely

They could always be better, much better but they are ok. FYI is up a few spots from last night on itunes.

Squirrely…yep I agree about loving his honesty and candor. I find it refreshing. We don’t have to worry though because last night Clearone said when she sees him she is just going to wash his mouth out with a bar of soap. lol Problem solved.

  • flashus

mayang…Neil’s blog is negativeneil. I haven’t read the article that you are referring to so I don’t know if it’s there or not. I am so glad that you are a fan of Adam. If he’s happy we’re happy.

Usually servers give you a a number of MB or GB of daily downloads, if you exceed that number, you have to wait until next day (free server services give you less). I could see it earlier today, and now I get the message.

ETA: they are back for me

The f-bomb? Get the fuck over it already. Adam is entitled to say what he likes. If the mag chooses to publish it, who cares? Srsly, he is no different than Jagger, Tyler, Lennon, et al. Did they self censor? Not.

ETA: I don’t think the smoking comment referred to cigs. A bowl a day keeps the doctor away. That won’t ruin his voice, at least, it hasn’t to date.

  • mayang
  • cmc25

If Adam’s intention is to be successful, he should try studying the overall culture in Asia since it’s a huge market. David Cook and David Achueleta have been there, Adam could learn from them.

They (Asians) love the Davids so much that Archie is being encourage to release an album in Japanese. Furthermore, he has earned a lot of Spanish-speaking fans thus an album in this language is in the making.

Kelly Clarkson total album sales is approximatelty 21 million ( 10 million US and 11 million international).

Carrie Underwood sold a total of 11 million (10 million US and 1 million international). She needs to do crossovers like Shana Twain to have more appeals outside US.

Reality- US music sales will continue to drop inspite of this extra-ordinary publicity given to Adam. Recession and unemployment is forcing customers to cut back on purchases. Wall Mart knows this situation that’s why it has started Black Friday sale ahead of the other retailers.

Adam will never be an icon given the hundreds of talents competing against each other plus the fact that current technology offers an overwhelming forms of entertainment other than music. On the other hand, if his album is successful enough, he could be making a lot of money on tours given his stage presence but still that won’t be enough to make iconic.

Just to cite numbers from Wikepedia, the Beatles and Elvis Presley have been reported to have sold a billion albums each. Michael Jackson at 750 million. Shana Twain, a crossover country singer sold 65 million.

Are the numbers from Wiki accurate? I don’t know, but it seems a good estimate in my opinion.

Sorry to cite this reality to Adam’s fans but if there is one from AI who would have a chance of becoming iconic it is non other than Kelly Clarkson.

I think Cyndi Lauper’s sister is gay. She has been very supportive for many years.

  • ljsmack

Clearone and others. While I agree with you in principle, the f-bomb is no longer a bomb but a flicker used as a noun ,verb, adjective, and just a filler word like like. It still jars me(I remember asking my mother what it meant when I was 14 cuz it was written on a sidewalk in chalk–that’s what passed for graffiti in a small town in 1962.) having taught in all grades prescool thru college, it has become so ubiquitous as to be meaningless to many. One hopes, and I think Adam has proved he is one who can, people realize there are different social registers for language usage. It is totally a matter of what’s acceptable in context. So those who say he drops it more depending on the interviewer/audience seem to support this.

He is also intelligent and articulate and not limited to a thee word vocab as are many celebs, and when he’s clued in about Asia I’m sure he’ll be appropiate.

  • mayang

I won’t apologize for the f word since most here are fine with it. :)

This is true and why I find it disheartening that he uses it so freely. What does it add to a statement? Nothing.

…and for the record, those of us who don’t care for the ‘f’ word are intending to buy his CD so there goes one theory out the window.

The Negative Neil story about Uncle (Unca) Dave is an old one. I tried to find it but couldn’t go back far enough. If I remember correctly, the letter or note concerned Thanksgiving 2008. It may be gone. Someone could ask him about it, I suppose.

  • revcat

Great quote from the article about TFM/2012 someone linked!

I suppose the prospect of a 2012 apocalypse isn’t so bad if we have Adam Lambert to sing us out.

On other matters: I don’t think Adam drops the f bomb every other sentence. And to think that Adam needs to be schooled by the Davids on how to act in the Philippines is probably a stretch. He had friends from that culture in San Diego and is very aware of the international scene. I believe he will be wildly popular in diverse countries around the globe and especially so in Japan.

    Exactly this^^
In my opinion, people who are truly offended by the use of the “f” word most likely will not be reading OUT magazine anyway. End of story.

  • JazzRocks

I remember my Mother telling me that there are no BAD WORDS just
people who do not have a extensive vocabulary.

I’m not questioning your Mother’s sage advice justjude, I just don’t think it applies so much today. Adam is one of the most articulate idols ever, right up there with David Cook. He’s rarely at a loss for words (words other than “fuck” lol). Most of the people I know who would be offended by his language wouldn’t be buying his music anyway.

The OUT photos are beautiful. He is extremely photogenic and always commands attention in a group shot.

  • marg

Sometimes the word “fuck” is the only adjective fitting to describe a thing or particular situation ….but I do agree that over use of the word shows a lack of the ability to articular on an educated level….Love you Adam….remember,a little more discipline with “the word” wouldn’t hurt you…rock on

  • Lynne

    On the swearing thing-

The way we use language is something we subconsiously change according to our audiences. We have a whole variety of built in voices, and we use the one that will be effective and will connect with whoever we are speaking to. For example, think of a kindergarten teacher who uses a certain voice with young children, but then changes that voice outside of that environment. When we can adapt and change for audiences, then we are effective communicators. If that same teacher talked to everyone the way she talked to her students, she would be a poor communicator.

Adam is a strong communicator, and it shouldn’t be a surpise that he shifts languages for audiences as seamlessly as he shifts octaves. My son, a musician as well, never swears around me, but when he is interviewed for music blogs, his language changes and becomes the language that those type of listeners understand and get. When I read those interviews, I read the ‘f- word’ here and there. Does it mean he is any less nice or any less respectful with me, or with with people who don’t use language that way? No.

Adam knows when swearing is inappropriate, and for the most part, keeps it back during those times. (What the ‘f’ is this?) The times when it spills over, let’s dance bitches at an AI show, (when his music and performance language spilled into the family audience arena,) come when he is so excited about what he is doing that the filter is over-ridden for a moment, and end up contributing to the edgy with a smile image that seems to fascinate many.

The reality? Adam is both people- the nice guy and the edgy guy. Mainly, he knows when to be which side, and mostly merges the two, my favorite presentation. Still, when everyone is following his every move and spoken word, the audiences will be less seperated, and the language of those two worlds is bound to collide from time to time. If we think he is ‘soft and sweet,’ and a part of him is, we should also know that sometimes he will be a bit ‘rough.’ In the end, it will all be for our
    entertainment.

  • hfa

Finally got to see the pictures! I couldn’t earlier. Adam looked great, but he didn’t smile, he looked so serius. I wish he would smile a little, because smiling Adam=happy Adam=happy me.

  • koshka

LOL So I knew exactly the tone of this thread before I even opened it up. No the language does not surprise me in the least. My DH, very educated with a PhD, spends his workday as a civilian with the military. After 10 years of this, he truly can and does curse with the best of them. I constantly have to remind him to clean up his language around our daughter. LOL It is habit and his environment.

Adam is a 27 year old man, who spends is social and professional time mostly in the company of men. What do men do when are not in the presence of ‘pearl clutchers’? They curse and scratch. So no… this doesn’t surprise me. I love him for doing this… because it has provided me with so much entertainment this morning.

  • k0ka

He used f-word to sound cool in that interview. He wants to show that he stays true to himself. This is who he is.

  • revcat

Adam was a chorus boy, not a choir boy!

If Adam toned everything down we wouldn’t have Adam. So not everyone will like everything he says or does but he’s definitely not bland and if he followed everyone’s advice he would be and we wouldn’t be talking about him now. In fact we wouldn’t even know who he is if he didn’t take the chance on being true to himself.

  • sidewalkstory

I was disappointed to see Adam cursing again in an interview. Alright already, we know you use it in your spoken word. It’s a word I use all the time so it is no shock. However, I find it distasteful in the written word when used repeatedly. It’s sort of like cheap entertainment.

  • ljsmack

I also think fuck is more off-putting and glaring when it’s printed in popular media. But I think in conversation it just slides in and out. Does it add anything? Not to me, but it’s so commonplace that it would be surprising if he didn’t use it in relaxed social circumstances.

At least we know he is capable of exercising an extensive vocab. But he’s no angel as he points out in fye.

  • marg

Well spoken, Lynne….but I also believe a little less is better….and the use of the “fuck” word should be used only when it truly describes something!!!! Just mine opinion….

  • dyg1

I prefer a couple of the f word rather than tons of hmmm, yeah, really, stuff, and the like.

  • revcat

As far as being an icon, is it based purely on record sales? Maybe that’s “yesterday thinking”? We all know the music industry is hurting mainly because of theft. Many people consider it a badge of honor to get their music for free. They’ll pay a buck or two for fast food but not for music. But there will always be icons based on my definition: Innovators who entertain our socks off. Adam has that ability therefore he has the potential to be an icon.

  • gemini1

Adam is one of the most articulate idols ever, right up there with David Cook.

ITA! The interviews have been enlightning to read and listen to this year. The f word doesn’t bother me AT ALL, but the overuse of “stuff” or “teenager talk” coming from adults does. It drives me crazy when adults refuse to use their brains and energy to answer intelligently. It shows they are either simple or lazy.

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ CindyM

Wow, people are complaining about this, about the photos, about the length of the interview?

Adam Lambert. A year ago we didn’t know who he was. A year ago he couldn’t get a lead role in a major musical production. A year ago he couldn’t get a record deal after being in LA for 8 years and trying desperately to get one, singing demos that have come back to haunt him. Now, he’s on the cover of a magazine with 5 out of 100 people honored. He’s got his picture on the contents page and he’s got another photo and a short, choppy interview. I think that’s pretty fucking good for a “freshman” in the industry. When they decided to include him months ago, he had no original music out and he was the “runner-up” on American Idol, yet the editors of the magazine found him significant enough to not only select him to appear on the cover, but to feature him in 2 other photos. There are so many other people they could have chosen, yet they chose Adam. I’m extremely thrilled about that and grateful. There is no FAIL in this for me at all.

Oh, I also think the photos celebrate the pretty that is Adam wonderfully.

  • sidewalkstory

The Negative Neil story about Uncle (Unca) Dave is an old one. I tried to find it but couldn’t go back far enough.

I printed that page out the moment I saw it. I knew it had to disappear. The uncle was so annoyed at Neil’s behaviour on Thanksgiving that he cursed him out in a comment. The uncle let him have it and really let the f-bombs fly. In this situation, I didn’t find the cursing inappropriate, just excessive. The blog was written before Adam was on the show and Neil was not smart enough to take it down on a timely basis.

What was the behaviour? Apparently Neil was picking fights with Adam all day. Neil also decided he would nap on the sofa and told people when they could wake him up. When he was up all he did was play with his ipod and argue. The uncle felt that Neil put a damper on Thanksgiving instead of enjoying a beautiful dinner.

Yay, another mag cover for Adam. He looks soooo hot in those pics. Hmmm, so people are worried about him cursing too much. Oh well, good luck on that one cause he ain’t gonna stop anytime soon. Awwwww, he loves Drake. He must be sad about the breakup. Hopefully he finds true and long lasting love one day.

BTW, there is a longer version of the interview to be posted on Out’s website. Wait till he brings up the entitled fans again and the cursing will become a non-issue. Haha.

can someone explain vftw’s completely ott hatred of all things adam….i’ve seem them hate on people before but never like this…..i can understand if people think he is overhyped, don’t like his style, was pushed too much by the producers, has crazy fans etc.etc. but to repeatedly claim that he has no talent is ridiculous….like him or hate him i don’t think that you can dispute that he is a good singer

  • 4evrmomof4

I don’t want to link it to give it anymore puiblicity – did anyone listen to the song clips from the demo cd take one? If so, what did you think?

  • LaurelG

FYE album is at #6 on Amazon and #26 on itunes

IIRC when I checked last night it was at #8 and the green arrow pointing up. Interesting that the release of two exclusive downloads on AO would trigger a sales bump on Amazon. Perhaps people hearing WWFM liked it and the song pushed them into buying the album, although they opted for the $9.99 version rather than the $24.99 Collector’s Edition.

I’m curious about the decision-making that goes into these magazine photo shoots. The last three – Details, Elle and now Out – have all had Elvis-Adam. Is that the choice of the photographer or stylist or Adam, I wonder? I understand Details was toying with hetero-Adam (per Adam himself), but I would have thought Out would have presented Adam as he seems to like to present himself most of the time (i.e. red-carpet stuff, TV guide party, AMA announcements) which is some variation of emo-Adam. I know he mixes it up, but emo-Adam seems to be his go-to look most of the time.

I have a vague recollection that someone, somewhere said Allison was the potty-mouth on the tour … or did I just dream that?

“can someone explain vftw’s completely ott hatred of all things adam

If I read blogs besides mjs which I generally try to avoid like the plague I would come to the conclusion that the US is full of closet haters. This type of person uses the internet to post nasty comments in order to vent some type of frustration that they feel. In my opinion it’s probably rooted in self-hate. Okay, I’m channeling Lucy from Peanuts, but I might be on to something. That will be 5 cents, please!

On another note, CindyM you said it all!

  • flashus

Well, as stated before, I find Adam’s honesty and candor refreshing but I think Adam is articulate enough and hopefully smart enough to know when he can get away with that sort of language and when he can’t. Even though sometimes on here the shock value is funny I find that I really appreciate Clearone’s ability to be my inner-conscience. So thank you Clearone! I have all the magazines that have been available so far, the eye of horus necklace and just ordered the earrings yesterday. I also purchased ten copies of the cd, six going out as gifts so even though I would prefer not to hear the f-word it hasn’t hampered me from buying anything Adam or from being a big fan.

  • Tess

but I do agree that over use of the word shows a lack of the ability to articular on an educated level

Have to disagree vehemently with this comment. Psuedo intellects always tend to grasp onto something to demonstrate their superiority over the masses…”look at me, I’m better (or smarter) because I don’t stoop so low as to use “swear” words when I speak”. And, many times people who swear do it just to “attack” the damn sensibilities of those individuals who hold language and grammar and spelling up as indications of how “smart” someone is.

Life is too damn short and much to fucking shitty to worry about the “sensibilities” of the judgmental. !

  • uglyduck

Saga-I am with you on this ‘fuck’ word. It’s maybe acceptable in US but it’s definitely offensive and a total turn off in Asia.

I live in Asia, but I dont find it offensive. Although I do find it offensive when someone said “fuck” word in my native language.

  • star

JFC, so much negativity on the first page of comments. It seems like some people will never be satisfied, lol. I think the Out photos are lovely. Not every shoot has to be edgy and artistic. (I’ll admit that I expected better from Elle, though.) I think it’s very nice to see Adam getting positive recognition from the gay community. Sounds like Adam’s extended interview will be online; looking forward to reading it!

I have a vague recollection that someone, somewhere said Allison was the potty-mouth on the tour ‘ ¦ or did I just dream that?

You didn’t dream that. The band said Allison cursed. I think she cursed in one of their live stream broadcasts. I also heard her curse myself in a video that was taken on the last night of the tour. It was in the parking lot and she was getting cosy with some guy. I don’t think she realized she was being taped.

She even has a Parrot that curses.

  • cayman

revcat..I DITTO you and give you 5 cents. I do not give vftw’s my attention, time or concern. Too little time in life and no one will change some deep seeded hatred, best they stay away from healthy thinkers like us! :) Over time I hope younger generations can erase all hatred.

  • sidewalkstory

BTW, there is a longer version of the interview to be posted on Out’s website. Wait till he brings up the entitled fans again and the cursing will become a non-issue. Haha.

    so true. lol.

  • AnninSD

    Lynne-
Adam is a strong communicator, and it shouldn’t be a surprise that he shifts languages for audiences as seamlessly as he shifts octaves. No.

    Yes THIS :-)

  • LaurelG

I do not give vftw’s my attention, time or concern. Too little time in life and no one will change some deep seeded hatred,

Plus, you’re only talking about ten people anyway.

I read some of the comments and, again, it’s the same as that other article posted last night about fye’s charting and sales numbers. So much misinformation and confusion out there caused by the initial exclusive offer on AO and the bundling of fye/FYE pro-orders right from the beginning. I almost wish I could Flash Forward three months because I really believe the numbers will be more than respectable.

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ anthrogeek

Wow, didn’t we have this conversation about the f-bomb yesterday?? Need I remind you guys yet again that he’s a thespian and is simply channeling Masterpiece Theatre:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVwiYAgD_A4

At least he’s grammatically correct in his usage! As long as he’s using it in the proper context and for appropriate audiences, where’s the harm? He’s not saying this to schoolkids, and just like the rest of us who swear in real life, he knows when NOT to use it. Frankly, if the publications that are quoting him had an issue with presenting it to their readers, they’d find a way not to print it, such as inserting an [expletive deleted] or not using a direct quote – it’s fucking elementary.

    Lynne

    On the swearing thing-

I won’t quote from Lynne’s comment, since it was long and should be read in its entirety, but I encourage peeps to go back a few pages and check it out if you missed it!

Latest Amazon.com rankings in preordered album sales:

    Susan Boyle / Adam Lambert

    Amazon UK 8 / 244
    Amazon USA 1 / 6
    Amazon Canada 1 / 15

Analyze and draw your own conclusion. Both IMHO have wonderful voice and that’s the only reason I am buying their CDs. To me it’s always the voice and music and nothing more.

Susan Boyle is not pretty, has no stage presence to the point of being awkward sometimes, can’t dance, hardly any publicity but why is she moving a lot of CDs? You all know the answer. I don’t.

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ anthrogeek

As for the OUT Magazine photo shoot – not sure what people expected, but this was not an issue devoted to Adam, but to a list of 100. He’s lucky he got as much space as he did! If there’s enough interest, I’m sure they’ll do additional pieces on him in the future when they can dedicate more space to just him.

As for the photos, I thought they were beautifully understated in both styling and lighting and suited the School Days theme of the issue. “Emo” Adam would not really have worked with the classic nature of the clothes he was modeling. Not sure what there is to get worked up over in this. Just another cog in the publicity machine to be thankful for!

  • Gigi3

I like the Out cover photo a LOT. The bow tie and red rose on his lapel are a killer combo.

From the Urban dictionary…. (along with many other great fuck definitions).

Perhaps one of the most interesting words in the english language today, is the word fuck. Out of all the english words that begin with the letter ‘f’ …fuck is the only word refered to as ‘the f word… It’s the one magical word. Just by its sound can describe pain, pleasure, hate and love. Fuck, as most words in the english language is derived from german …the word fuieken, which means to strike.
In english, fuck falls into many grammatical categories:

As a transitive verb for intance …John fucked Shirley.
    As an intransitive verb…Shirley fucks.

Its meaning is not always sexual, it can be used as…

An adjective such as …John’s doing all the fucking work.
As part of an adverb …Shirley talks too fucking much.
As an adverb enhancing an adjective …Shirley is fucking beautiful.
    As a noun …I don’t give a fuck.
As part of a word …absofuckinglutely -or- infuckingcredible.
And as almost every word in a sentence …Fuck the fucking fuckers.

As you must realize, there aren’t too many words with the versatility of fuck…such as these examples describing situations such as:

Fraud …I got fucked at the used car lot.
    Dismay …ahhh fuck it.
Trouble …I guess I’m really fucked now.
Agression …Don’t fuck with me buddy.
Difficulty …I don’t understand this fucking question.
Inquiry …Who the fuck was that?
Dissatisfaction …I don’t like what the fuck is going on here.
    Incompetance …He’s a fuck-off.
Dismissal …Why don’t you go outside and play hide and go fuck yourself…

I’m sure you can think of many more examples.
With all these multi-purpose applications, how can anyone be offended when you use the word. We say use this unique, flexible word more often in your daily speech.
It will identify the quality of your character immediately.
    Say it loudly and proudly…
    …FUCK YOU!

It’s a part of culture and although a little uncomfortable for some, not going away any time soon. I think it is hard for a lot of people to “not” say fuck all the time. Me included. Constantly having to mentally shush myself at work, in front of mom, etc. Adam is being himself, and not some uptight “must try an please everyone” sort of puppet. I love him for it.

  • spring2009

Tea and scones at the other guys place

Martinis and great music at Adam’s

Sometimes during the season when Adam was talking with the judges I couldn’t help but grin, because I knew I could see the real Adam behind his grin. Knew he was humble and kind, but also could see this. I have yet to be disappointed.

    YMMV

Susan Boyle is not pretty, has no stage presence to the point of being awkward sometimes, can’t dance, hardly any publicity but why is she moving a lot of CDs? You all know the answer. I don’t.

She’s had a ton of publicity, the most recent being her appearance on DWTS this week. She has been shoved down the throats of people worldwide. I don’t get her appeal at all.

I believe Adam’s #’s will shoot up after the AMA performance. IMO they have based their promotional plan on the AMA’s forward.

  • 4Msrmyn

Whether you are offended or not by the swearing, from a historical perspective it seems ironic that cursing should become the focus of an article discussion about a man in OUT magazine. The “gay” is a non-issue, but a four-letter word is an issue.
(Please, I’m not trying to make being openly gay an issue.)

  • schufly

I love the OUT photos. They don’t look overly photo-shopped like the Details pics, and he just looks amazingly beautiful.

Adam seems like a very complex person, and my always have trouble finding the love he yearns for. Especially the way he puts himself out there and opens himself up for potential pain. Luckily he is also strong enough and diverse enough to not let this part of his life stand in his way of finding joy in his music and in entertaining others.

  • nnadinola

“Sometimes during the season when Adam was talking with the judges I couldn’t help but grin, because I knew I could see the real Adam behind his grin. Knew he was humble and kind, but also could see this. I have yet to be disappointed”

And he was probably thinking “Fuck Them”

  • Lynne

I printed that page out the moment I saw it. I knew it had to disappear. The uncle was so annoyed at Neil’s behaviour on Thanksgiving that he cursed him out in a comment. The uncle let him have it and really let the f-bombs fly. In this situation, I didn’t find the cursing inappropriate, just excessive.

I remember that post. As I recall, the uncle was using the f-word that way to rib Neil, to kind of teasingly show him that he exceeded the acceptable level of negativity that day. Hence the use of the excessive f-word to parallel that. It seemed to me that it was something they were both looking back on and kind of laughing over in retrospect.

Susan Boyle is not pretty, has no stage presence to the point of being awkward sometimes, can’t dance, hardly any publicity but why is she moving a lot of CDs? You all know the answer. I don’t.

Actually, SuBo HAS received a ton of worldwide publicity, the majority of it viral starting the very day after she made her first TV appearance. Adam’s publicity has been more contained to the US, which has been supplemented by a relatively few international “early adopters” stumbling upon him via the Internet.

Also, her CD was listed for pre-sale at Amazon WAY early in the game – Amazon currently stated it’s been in the top 100 for 75 days, while Adam’s is only 49 days, so she’s had more time to collect orders.

Finally, your numbers are only for Amazon, which people have stated several times in the past tends to skew to an older demographic who buys primarily hard copies of CDs. What is hers doing on iTunes, which skews primarily younger? (That’s a rhetorical question – I have no further interest whatsoever in how SuBo compares to Adam in sales).

The bottom line is that these are all slices of the pie, and the entire pie won’t be available for several weeks, if not months. This is not a race to the finish, especially when there is no finish line for Adam – he’ll continue in the industry for many years to come, while SuBo is likely to be a one-hit wonder. I’ll take longevity over flash-in-the-pan any day.

ITA. Unless I’m completely misconstruing the “purpose” of VFTW (which I guess I could be because I honestly don’t think I’ve ever been to their site — maybe once early on in my Adam fandom, but I can’t really remember), it’s to make a mockery of AI by boosting up whoever they deem to be the worst representative. My guess is that they think Adam is too talented/popular to promote positively since their aim is to discredit the show’s validity. Does that make sense? My thought has always been that it’s a compliment to Adam that VFTW hates on him so!

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ CindyM

This is from Vote for the Worst on March 1st, 2009. When they revealed the kissing pictures:

While we didn’t want to hurt his chances in the competition by scaring the fundie frauen away from him, Adam Lambert apparently has tons of photos of himself making out with some dude online that were posted on our message board. So for the idiots who somehow think this guy is not gay, Adam Lambert is gay. Total future VFTW pick because he’s going to completely scare off the tween girl and bored housewife vote eventually (which really is a smart career move when you see how they ruin careers like Clay Aiken’s).

Adam is an attention whore, and we love it! He’s probably lurking here right now. We like his style.

I think they hate him now because the kissing pictures did nothing to harm his chances at that point, he was uber talented and that ruined their chances to back him. Scorned by Adam and his fans. Score!

There’s a rumor that director Jamie King and associate director Stafanie Roos is set to work with Adam Lambert, directing his upcoming TV appearances and tour performances. King directed the tours of pop stars Britney Spears, Madonna and Rihanna. Unfortunately, the only source I have for this news is the Examiner.com, which is notoriously unreliable. So, kids, I’m calling it RUMOR until verified by a reliable source.

Rumour or not, what do people think of this possibility? I think it would be awesome because this guy puts together a spectacle, not just a concert. I think he’d give Adam some real direction in his performances.

Dear, dear Miss Susan Boyle. She is totally a creation of YouTube and Online Press as well as TV reality shows and daytime “light news” programs like the Today Show. She is a “creation” and anything she does will be an extension of that. She is the modern day Pygmalia…the new decade’s Eliza Doolittle…she is Cinderella, Sleepy Beauty, Snow White, Rapunzel, and the Little Mermaid of modern times.

People aren’t necessarily buying her album because she is a great singer with a once in a lifetime voice….no they are probably buying her album because it makes them “feel good” to be supporting this true life fairy tale. I am sure she will sell millions of albums and will be the success story of ’09…and she will fade as quickly as she arose to “fame”. No way does she have the stamina to tour or promote….she is still singing the same song she auditioned with. She won’t be able to sing all 12 songs on her album in succession….she doesn’t have the mental or physical capacity to do that. She’ll show up occasionally to sing one or two songs on a special program and that will be it.

The big winner with all this will be Simon C. and her record label. Susan will retire to a nice flower surrounded cottage somewhere and will always have the lovely memory of her time in the sunlight. Kudos to her for that.

But, if anyone gifts me her CD they will face the wrath of God! I may be old, but I’m not senile yet.

  • Mitla96

I would ignore VFTW wrt all things Adam. They kept hoping he would totally Drag queen out on idol and become their hero. Since he didn’t, they hate on him big time. I am glad there is a place like vftw. That means people like them can go hang out over there. Total group of declase haters. It’s best of normal, balanced people stay away. Its not like they get anything new first. They totally copy off of MJ and other better blogs.

I like the Out cover. I didn’t know all those peeps on it were gay.Cindy lauper??? Didn’t know Wanda Sykes was either. As for the F word, Adam says it a lot. It doesn’t bother me since he does a really good Job of sensoring himself for his audience. No fbombs in entertainweakly.

Regarding SubO. I am really curious abut post debut sales. I mean, I love her story. I loved the crazy looks on those judges face when she opened her mouth and sang. But I have no intention of buying her album. I love Josh groban and bought his first and second CD, and one xmas CD. I love Sara brightman. I like Andrea Bocelli but only bought o 2 of his CDs. You would assume I would potentially buy SuBo’s but she is no where in the league of those performers. Note Ihave no Il Divo in my collection. LOL!

This is a tad OT, but I went to see “2012″ last night and saw what I think was a positive reaction to “Time for Miracles.” Most of the theater sadly cleared out right away, which pissed me off, but just a couple rows behind me was a lady with her husband who was obviously actively listening to the song. I was, too, of course, but unlike me, this woman appeared to be hearing it for the first time and was commenting positively to her husband as she listened. She had kind of a “Wow, that’s a good song” face happening. I would say she was an Adam fan like me and just thrilled to be hearing it over the theater speakers, but that part really sucked, as, although it was playing loudly, there was absolutely no surround sound going on; I get much better sound from the Bose headphones I filch daily from my son. Anyway, before I could embarrass my hubby by chiming into their private conversation to proudly announce who was singing, her husband, who had been reading the scrolling credits, said something to her that I can only imagine was to report on the singer, because she looked kind of wide-eyed in a “wow” moment as she continued to listen. They waited until the last note of the song before leaving. It was just kind of fun to watch, and I couldn’t help but think that if I saw one positive reaction in my local theater that there are many others going on daily throughout the world.

Hey, there, SparklesATL, I was waiting for someone to see that. Not really trying to be clever, but when I typed it–it did occur to me to change, but I said, “What the fuck!” (To myself of course.)

SIdewalkstory, I don’t remember where it was–perhaps I was putting a few things together–the time when Drake left to smoke and then got angry, blah, blah, blah, and one time when Adam said he needs his humidifier (and had to go home to get it) in order to protect his voice, and um., I guess I just made it up. Adam never said that.

  • https://twitter.com/pmhowden undercooked

Nice shots in OUT. He looks great. Bummer about the Drake reference now that they’ve broken up. Ah, well. It happens.

  • LaurelG

According to the Mediabase Quickcut chart, fye had 73 reported spins yesterday, which represents a +34 spin increase over a week ago.

    Total reported spins for the past 7 days (in reverse order) are 442 = 73, 83, 77, 67, 66, 36 and 40.

  • SparklesATL

Didn’t you know that FYE stands for Fuck Yeah, Everyone!

And JFG coffee and mayo (a regional brand in the South) stands for “Just Fucking Good”

ljsmack my mind just seems to go straight to the gutter. I just love a good wordsmith.

Something interesting, that someone noted in one of the threads. yesterday. I said that I couldn’t see Adam doing coffee house gigs, and she said that Adam had already done that for 10 years. (I guess Upright Cabaret is the best example of this.) Touche.

No matter how high Adam goes, nobody will ever be able to say honestly that he didn’t first pay his dues!

  • FifthHouseSun

CindyM & anthrogeek, on point as ever.

The limited real estate of any magazine–especially as they all slice staff and editorial pages as ad pages shrink — much less issues with big “our annual list” territory to cover means making the list is a big deal in whatever circles are being listed. Having any pic with your name on the list ups your importance. And all 100 people, their friends, frenemies, staffs and accoutrements will be comparing size (of pic & editorial space).

And what they will see is a guy whose proximity to the list this time last year was buying an issue on the cover, then ON THE CONTENTS PAGE (!), then another big ole gorgeous full page shot inside. This is a whole lotta pictoral real estate (Contents page!!!!). If they’d added any more they’d be wondering who Adam had to f-word in a non verbal way to get it.

And about the handsome here, can these stylists be his everyday? With this Jason Bell photographer following him around constantly snapping shots?

And, yes, Lynne, well noted, Adam does change his vocab to fit the situation. Here, likely he’s trying swagger to reduce Idol fluffiness. Plus, interviews are uncontrollable. The editor decides how you’ll sound.

  • garden gnome

Janus and anthrogeek- Thanks for your response and I think that is exactly what I did. I opened instead of saved. I have e-mailed Adam Official to see if they can help. I really don’t want to pay again for the CE. I will remember to SAVE first now.

Jumping in here because when I downloaded I did not hit save, I hit open. I went to start menu – hit “search” – what do you want to search for “pictures, video, or music” – all or part of the name I put in “master” – hit search – when you see Master Plan, right click on it and tell it to open with itunes.

I just downloaded a free mp3 from Amazon and had to do it for that because it went to Amazon Downloads and not itunes.

Try it – the file is on your computer somewhere if they said you downloaded it.

Wanda Sykes is gay and is married to a woman (while it was still legal in California; she is still legally wed due to the fact that the marriages that took place while it was legal were not rescinded) and has twin babies. She has a hilarious routine about being gay only she changed it to being black and coming out as a black person to her parents. One interesting thing. When I re-watch RoF (shock, but I do, a lot, along with other performances, b/c I am very *interested* in them, not that I am obsessive or something, why would you think that?!), I think:

    1) Adam knows he took a calculated risk; in future confessionals and interviews, he says that he wouldn’t have done it so early in the competition:

    2) He is thrilled with what Paula said, b/c she got it:

    3) He was, I feel, both hurt and pissed off at Simon, sort of like, you’re really embarrassing me in front of millions of people and you aren’t even trying to get it.

And in a recent interview, he said that he really appreciated Paula but Simon was just a producer who was working with Leona Lewis (meaning that the cords had been cut).

I think Adam is both strong AND vulnerable. Oh, and I like the pics in Details, especially James Dean!Adam (and he does, too, since he used in for his Twitter avatar), and I like the interview, too. He has a small one in Us Weekly, back of mag (so hot and funny in its plugging of items like Diesel jeans and cologne).

I guess I don’t really care about his interviews so much anymore. Of course I care about his image, and hope he doesn’t become a parody (b/c I honestly feel that this is what GaGa has become), b/c I love his music so much and want ppl to give him a chance and listen to it. Is it fun? Hells yes, but WWFM really touched me, too.

Yes, garden gnome, I have had that problem with iTunes as well and mp3s. Open with iTunes and then it will save and you can put it onto your iPod.

I doubt Adam is interested in going Gaga’s route and have an off-stage persona. If he was interested in that he could have created himself a straight off-stage persona and life would have been more simple. I am not really sure where Gaga is going to go in the future but she definetely seem to have songwriting and performance abilities to stay in the business long. She just doesn’t feel as provocing as Madonna felt when she had her breakthrough. Somehow it’s more safe?

  • dcglam

And in a recent interview, he said that he really appreciated Paula but Simon was just a producer who was working with Leona Lewis (meaning that the cords had been cut).

When I originally read this comment from Adam in the interview, I must say I was a bit surprised. It sounds as if there are some hard feelings toward Simon. I suppose the “surprise” part from me is that Simon seemed VERY supportive of Adam, especially later on in the competition. I wonder if some “stuff” went on that I’m not aware of. Any thoughts???

  • saga

Maybe he doesn’t think Simon has the greatest taste and want to make it clear that they are not connected business wise in any way. He has emphasized Paulas role in giving him a chance. I bet without Paula he wouldn’t have cleared the audition.

  • saga

Let me clarify, Madonna was very much a love or hate artist and for a while there it was quite a lot of hate. I don’t see Gaga causing emotions like this. It is very clear that what she is doing is a game.

    ljsmack, thx for saying this.

I think the point of Drake running out of the club was because Drake was annoyed at Adam’s attention to someone else, whether the other person was someone in the music industry or not. Drake running out for a cigarette was not the issue; Drake storming off like a pissy wife was the problem.

I swear, my friends and family swear, my boss swears, my college professors would swear, so I am not some shrinking violet who recoils when someone says fuck. There is a difference between using a swear casually, though, and using it repeatedly in a national publication. Adam might think this is his way of portraying himself as some rebel, but he comes off cheap and childish. He will be making the rounds on national television soon for interviews, and it is in his best interest to come across as articulate, not classless. A swear used effectively conveys a lot, but used repeatedly just show ignorance. I also can’t believe people think Adam comes across as one of the most articulate and intelligent idols. By no means am I saying he is a Kellie Pickler, but I would say Anoop, Matt G, Scott, Syesha, David Cook, Brooke, Michael Johns, Elliot, Carrie, and many other Idols come across as much more intelligent and articulate.

  • suebrody

I also can’t believe people think Adam comes across as one of the most articulate and intelligent idols.

Really? I have thought that in person he is one of the most articulate Idols ever. Examples, please? Are you basing this on one in-print article? Are you saying this b/c he swears? And comparing him to Scott? I am baffled. And remember the four-part article in the Los Angeles Times? He was extremely articulate and thoughtful.

  • revcat

She just doesn’t feel as provocing as Madonna felt when she had her breakthrough. Somehow it’s more safe?

Madonna broke ground for Gaga which paved the way. I like G. up to a point, but when she is sitting in the audience wearing different costumes including one where she looks like Big Bird – too much! It’s one thing to dress up for your performance, but if it’s 24/7 for me its OTT and also becomes somewhat boring. I think Adam is walking the fine line, testing the limits, but not being a performer 24/7.

  • Lynne

Here, likely he’s trying swagger to reduce Idol fluffiness. Plus, interviews are uncontrollable. The editor decides how you’ll sound

    That sounds about right.

    Suebrody

I agree that Adam looked both hurt and pissed at Simon over the ROF remarks. I think by then Adam had decided playing nice if criticized would be the best route to go, so when he looked over and saw that negative remarks were going to come from Simon, he kind of lightened it all up a bit by laughing and saying, “Here it comes.” Maybe he decided after the Satisfaction song not to argue with Simon. When Simon made some disparaging remarks back then about portions of Satisfaction, Adam said something like,”That is how music is. Some people are going to like it and some people are going to hate it.” Maybe he decided after that experience that taking the higher road would make him look the strongest. He certainly isn’t afraid to take people on, though, and I like that about him. For example, when he was telling the judges that he wanted to take songs and change them up and do something new, and Simon patronizingly cut him off, he affirmed, “I can do it.” It made me believe that he could. That kind of confidence is one of the things I find compelling about Adam, (okay, and sexy, too.) And yes, no one in real life except those closest to me would ever imagine I paid this much attention to all of that.)

  • gangreen29

Really? I have thought that in person he is one of the most articulate Idols ever. Examples, please? Are you basing this on one in-print article? Are you saying this b/c he swears? Adam has a presence, which in televised interviews makes him seem more engaging than he actually is. In print he comes across as trite, with all the hollow new age cliches that really mean nothing, I don’t remember what article but I remember his discussion of singing on cruise and visiting third world commentaries reminded me of a 10th grader. You do also know that Scott is a Marshall and Fulbright Scholar, and was a finalist for the Rhodes scholarship? I think that indicates an intelligent individual.

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ anthrogeek

gangreen29: A swear used effectively conveys a lot, but used repeatedly just show ignorance.

First, I wouldn’t say he uses it repeatedly considering we’ve “known” him now for a good 9 months and this is just coming up as a topic. Furthermore, if you say you also swear, why are you not any less ignorant? Lastly, those of us who’ve been paying attention have been marveling over the last 9 months about how incredibly articulate and verbally expressive he is, so how is this news to you now? That’s a rhetorical question, BTW, as I don’t place much value on the opinions of self-proclaimed diseased tissue.

This has nothing to do about the 9 months he has been in the public eye, but about the one article where he repeatedly used the word fuck. I am not ignorant because I understand that there is a time and place for swearing, and that in a national publication is not the time or place, because it is a professional setting. Also, because my vocabulary is developed enough that I do not need to use the word Fuck like Adam does as a verbal crutch because he is not educated enough to know other ways of expressing himself. Give me examples of Adam being verbally expressive, because in all interviews I have seen of him he has appeared pretty vacuous. Also, your last sentence is just childish and petty.

  • gangreen29

so higher education is really indicative of nothing.

That is sad that you think that, and I can promise you is not true for the inner city youth I work with to fulfill their dreams of college and bettering their lives. I never said Scott would be more successful than Adam, because Pop music does not reward intelligence, but when people are claiming Adam to be the most intelligent of idols I think it is a bit ridiculous when in just his season he was competing against a Marshall scholar, and is the type of hyperbole that annoys many.

  • suebrody

I also can’t believe people think Adam comes across as one of the most articulate and intelligent idols.

Who said he is the most intelligent of Idols? I do think he is but, again, examples, please, of when he sounds inarticulate. Because he swears? And yes, Scott is brilliant, and that still does not make him very engaging in interviews. That said, I didn’t just mean Scott; I only brought him up as one of the Idols, not that he is representative of the others.

  • KLI

Adam isn’t just one of the most articulate Idols ever–he is one of the most articulate human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of listenig to–and I hang out with some very smart and highly educated folks in my personal and professional life. Adam is an inferential thinker who is highly adept at thinking and expressing himself in context. That’s why he put together the longest thank you section in the concert program. He’s able to take all the people he’s known in life and thank them for exactly what they brought to him. None of the other idols did that. He didn’t just list a bunch of people–he assigned significance to many of them. The la times interview is another great example. If he was IQ tested I’d bet money he’d be in the 99th percentile for verbal reasoning. That being said, Scott m would probably test vey high too–but he doesn’t have the ability to articulate in a way that connects with listeners.

  • saga

I thought the discussion was over Adam being articulate and not intelligent (I could have read some post sloppily though)? Maybe Adam can be labelled as life smart or street smart more than academically intelligent?

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

Why are we talking about Scott in this thread? Dead horse beaten, let’s move on.

Also, please–no blog on blog talk.

  • KLI

That being said–I don’t think the Out article showed off Adams great expressive abilities. Is think they were just trying to show some swagger. I’ve been interviewed before for print articles and it’s always a shock to see how I come across. If the reporter is nice they will let you look at the artile before it goes to print but many times they don’t. You must be very careful with what you say because a reporter can take what you say out of context and make you look ridiculous if it sets the tone for the type of article they want to put out.

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ anthrogeek

KLI, very true. An interview could go on for an hour, and only 10 minutes of what the editor considers topical or controversial makes the final cut. Hence, the propensity for TV to use out-of-context sound bites – same with print media if they so choose. As FHS stated earlier, the interview subject has no control over the final result.

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com rowenaaine

The Out interview uses “print bites” much like tv and radio uses “sound bites.” They knew how they wanted to portray Adam and reported his remarks accordingly. Nothing wrong with that, it’s done all the time. I agree with KLI in that they were showing him as the non-Idol Idol – edgy as opposed to mom-and-apple-pie. Jeez, the man is nearly 30, is it ok if he swears? LOL.

And I don’t buy into the “ignorance” theory. I love to swear. I know it’s unbecoming, but I have a 135 IQ and went to college on a full scholarship. I’ve got a perfectly good vocab. I just like saying fuck. *shrug*

  • Cate

I have to add my 2cents worth in that a college education does not make anyone smarter. It only makes them better-educated. Now sometimes, the education makes one more skillful in demonstrating that intelligence, but if a person is not already intelligent, he or she is not going to be made any smarter by education. I have a very good vocabulary, too, and I say fuck. A lot.

  • KLI

I might be going out on a limb here but I think that one of the reasons Adam isn’t much of a twitterer is because twitter is all about the quick sound bite. I think Adam much prefers expressing himself in context and twitter doesn’t let you do that.

When I was at B & N today I looked for Out magazine but didn’t see it anywhere. What section is it in? I figured it didn’t fit in with the muscle car half naked girl section but I could be wrong!!

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ adamaloha

Adam has a presence, which in televised interviews makes him seem more engaging than he actually is. In print he comes across as trite, with all the hollow new age cliches that really mean nothing, I don’t remember what article but I remember his discussion of singing on cruise and visiting third world commentaries reminded me of a 10th grader. You do also know that Scott is a Marshall and Fulbright Scholar, and was a finalist for the Rhodes scholarship? I think that indicates an intelligent individual.

Adam’s “presence” is not limited to TV. He impresses almost everyone he comes in contact with as an intelligent, grounded and engaging human being who has the immensity of talent to pique interest in the first place. Print reporters who interview Adam come away respecting and liking him. That is not a sign of a shallow, “trite” person.

The fact that people keep coming back for more of him speaks to his depth and charisma and yes, to his articulation skills and his innate intelligence.

“Print bites” are a good way to describe it, however I don’t believe those quotes were taken out of context. Adam portrayed himself the way he wanted to be portrayed in this particular venue. He controls his mouth and what comes out of it.

In this case it would appear Adam felt he knew the target audience of the particular publication, and he was responding to certain “cues” from the interviewer as well. Remember, this is Adam’s world, his community. His wider home, so to speak. He is being himself to an audience that understands exactly what he is saying about being “himself” in an often hostile world. All gays may not accept him with open arms but at the deepest level they “understand” him.

As for all those “hollow, new age cliches that really mean nothing”?
They mean nothing to you. They mean a lot to me. And I am not hollow, shallow, uneducated or devoid of intelligence. I am an idealist who happens to recognize a person who lives his life with conviction and follows his ideals courageously.

I also reject the kind of intellectual snobbery that attaches value on people based on their level of formal education, or their enjoyment of pop music.

  • dab1234

I’d like to hear more about the tour rumor. I would also like to know who wrote Master Plan, anyone heard anything?

  • flashus

Now see Rowe that is very impressive. The posters at Planet Fierce must all have very high IQ’s. They never seem to stop impressing me. Of course, my husband is Mensa, and as we are one I will just claim his. Not. Who cares if Adam curses? It is his life. It was in a magazine not in front of little children. Fanbaiting is not pretty and the outcome is usually never good. But, MJ did you really call me psycho? I hope not.

saga, loved the drummer bits. And even went for the Google search. (Hey, could have gotten a Twitter hit or something.) But it just turned up alot of repeats of the RS “I’m dorky about astrology” article.

Maybe the are making a band of aquariarees.

Probably not, because while that would only be their sun sign placement, and by no means the most important aspect of their chart, can’t see a group of very Aquarian personalities (and not saying Adam has one) staying together long. Aquarius is the polar opposite of Leo, the sign of performance, romance, theatrics, risk-takings, and creativity.

It would be important for people with significant Aquarian influences to have even more important Leonian aspects. They’d need strong planetary placements in Leo or Leo’s house, to appreciate the Leonian roar of being here for your entertainment and remembering opposition is merely two points on a united spectrum of value.

Adam’s understanding that fun can change the world would be an example of uniting the spectrum. Leo=fun. Aquarius=want to change the world.

  • Lynne

    LOL, saga.

If the information can be found, I am sure someone on this site can find it. That is why I love coming here! I enjoy reading so many well thought out posts on this site and have learned quite a bit about music and even the record industry from my visits.

    Crazy? about Adam, why yes!

  • 4Msrmyn

Adam is an Aquarius. He was a cast member of the play “Hair”. The play has a musical number called “The Age of Aquarius”. He sang “Crawl Through Fire” on the Zodiac Show for the sign of Aquarius.
What are you guys talking about? What am I talking about? Is this some kind of pop quiz? Agh, I didn’t study!

Aren’t we supposed to get as a bonus ‘Down The Rabbit Hole?’

Apparently, it’s on the iTunes deluxe version, but whether it’s also the third mystery bonus that won’t be available at AO until the 23rd is unknown…

Still wondering how/if Suburban Decay fits in anywhere…..

  • HoppersSkippersMiners

    [laugh]

You know, guys, I’ve been skimming through this thread on and off all day, and I don’t recall ONCE that the full article was actually posted! Ergo, for those of you who were all “ACK” and “OOH” about Adam coming off as arrogant, etc from the disembodied text bites, here is the relevant section of the article.

… But when photos of him kissing an ex-boyfriend made the media rounds, Lambert freaked out. ‘I was like, ‘Great, that gonna fuck things up’. It was the first time since I’d come out of the closet at 18 that I had to think about it.’ He confirmed the pictures were real but didn’t explicitly say he was gay until after the finale. ‘I didn’t want to acknowledge it as a mistake or something I was ashamed of ‘“ I’m not. It’s part of who I am, but because our nation is the way it is, it’s an announcement. If I lose some fans, fuck it. I need to be happy too.’

[shrug] Personally, I think this is a perfectly acceptable interview in the context of “OUT” magazine.

Carry on folks! Oh, and thanks to spindleshay for making the scan large enough to read properly!

  • suebrody

I hope Suburban Decay is the 3rd bonus track on AO, b/c we know it is isn’t Down the Rabbit Hole. Has any tweeted Monte or Greg or Ryan or anyone about Master Plan?

  • saga

We’ve been waiting for you Sue.

Has any tweeted Monte or Greg or Ryan or anyone about Master Plan?

I thought that was your job? :)

  • suebrody

OMG, I just did!!! ;) (Monte and Greg; not Ryan yet.) I had to. That’s what I get paid to do. 8)

ETA: I just wrote to Ryan, too (he doesn’t have his own twitter addy: you have to tweet @1Republic, whose new single is much more upbeat, BTW). I will keep you abreast of the situation. ;)

  • HoppersSkippersMiners

I see we have moved on to more important stuff – like the astrological mix of Adam’s new band! Ignore the previous post then! This is more fun.

We are now on the beat for figuring out who wrote MP. I hope to have something later tonight. Monte, Greg, Ryan: do not disappoint us! (Not bothering w/ Adam; he will never give it up.)

    back later…

  • bridgeymah

As a fellow Aquarian (waves hi to Adam) I can attest to the difficulty we have with certain other star signs, but it is really all about the others as well (ascendant and moon signs) – sun signs are just one piece of the puzzle.

  • FifthHouseSun

    Ignore the previous post then!

No way, HSM. Fun we shall continue to have, but your quote from the magazine was clarifying. Especially the part about: THIS IS OUT MAGAZINE! (Allow me to rudely shout for you.) For all we know, the editor said, whoa, he’s so polite, maybe a little edge to go with all these gorgeous pictures. Let’s de-Idol him, after all, THIS IS OUT MAGAZINE. Cool kids, ya know.

bridgeymah, very impressive self-awareness. And the best part about the puzzle is it never gets completely solved.

  • http://littleglitterlittleglam.blogspot.com TheSpindleshay

You’re welcome HSM, glad I could find the larger scans. I can see I will have to keep checking back to learn who is responsible for MP.

  • HoppersSkippersMiners

The Jamie King colaboration is confirmed now! http://msaagency.com/pr/msa/adam-lambert-jamie-king.aspx thanks to terraj who tweeted it.

    Yea terraj! You rock, girl!

  • sidewalkstory

When I was at B & N today I looked for Out magazine but didn’t see it anywhere. What section is it in? I figured it didn’t fit in with the muscle car half naked girl section but I could be wrong!!

I went to B&N today as well and Out is smack next to Details on the shelf. It is in the “men’s” section. However, the new issue with Adam is not there yet. And the Details that is there is the one with Adam on the cover.

  • Planet Fierce

Have we ruled out that Adam may have penned any or all of MP?

  • will

Yes, but no mention of him directing a “tour.”

Congratulations to MSA client Jamie King, who is set to work with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert. King, along with Associate Director Stefanie Roos, will direct Lambert’s upcoming performances and appearances.

Any talk of a tour, especially one of the size King is used to directing, is very premature.

  • dab1234

I’m happy with the ‘performances and appearances’ part of it, for now. These first appearances are really important. Will they work on the video, too? I know nothing about this stuff.

  • penzap

Yes, but no mention of him directing a ‘tour.’

Jamie King to direct Adam Lambert’s upcoming tour

  • sidewalkstory

Yes, but no mention of him directing a ‘tour.’

Seeing as Adam has spoken about Monte Pittman touring with him, one can only imagine there is a tour. You don’t think they hired King just for Adam’s appearance on GMA, do you?

  • dab1234

The title of the article is “Jamie King to direct Adam Lambert’s upcoming tour”. doesn’t that indicate a tour?

  • clearone

    http://msaagency.com/pr/msa/adam-lambert-jamie-king.aspx?link_page_rss=112266

Woo hoo it must be true!!

I wonder if he’s working with Adam for the AMA performance? This is so exciting!!

  • will

Oops penzap, I did not see that headline, sorry. Odd that the text leaves out the word “tour” though. Adam himself has said any possible tour is contingent on how the album sells. So there may be preliminary plans being made, but I doubt anything is certain.

  • revcat

He he, most high schools can’t get kids to stop using the f-word and a high school principal has banned the word, get ready for this: “meep” – it doesn’t mean anything and it comes from the Muppets. Apparently the kids were using it non stop just to bug their teachers. Next time I hear or read of Adam saying the f-word, here’s my reaction:

    WTM? (What the meep?)

  • HoppersSkippersMiners

    Meep, meep, meepity-meep-meep!

Hmm…..I dunno, doesn’t have quite the same ring to it!

    tries again

    Oh MEEP IT!

  • FifthHouseSun

    WTM? (What the meep?)

Fabulous, revcat. Using it. Who knows Adam may, too.

  • KLI

sidewalkstory– thanks for pointing out that out is by details at b and n .

The funny thing is that’s the one place I didn’t look because details with Adam on the cover was still there and I only had eyes for Adam and didn’t bother to look at the surrounding magazines.

  • glitter

So Jamie King is directing/choreo Rhianna’s 2010 tour…. could Adam be opening for her? Sounds ludicrous but…

  • Lynne

Here’s hoping that the album does well enough for Adam to tour. I really want to see that tour.

  • unique28v

So Jamie King is directing/choreo Rhianna’s 2010 tour’ ¦. could Adam be opening for her? Sounds ludicrous but’ ¦

That would be great exposure to Adam. Plus, it would expose him to a whole new market, many of which I bet don’t watch AI.

Adam must be opening for someone for them to get that type of tour director for him.

  • clearone

Adam must be opening for someone for them to get that type of tour director for him.

Makes sense to me….and I would think that someone would be a big name considering the calibre of Jamie King.

  • FifthHouseSun

So Jamie King is directing/choreo Rhianna’s 2010 tour’ ¦. could Adam be opening for her? Sounds ludicrous but’ ¦

I really hope not. She's got a hot (and strange, borderline reprehensible) record about the joys of possibly shooting yourself. But no, please, Adam, don't donate your fans to her. Don't see the fit.

Sony has something we don't have: the actual sales for FYE, which gives them a sense of Adam's hardcore fanbase. Those people who would travel hours to attend a Lambert performance.

But what they don't have is what happens after Lambert performances on TV. So it's possible Adam's waiting a month to decide what kind of tour and when. And scheduling as many TV appearances as possible. It's a recession, tour tickets are hard to sell. It's the holidays, albums are easier to move. They can decide between smaller solo tour, or larger combo tour. And if they pull out all the stops for the TV performances they will build an audience for both kinds. Even do some solo dates like the Beacon in NYC. Comparable venues in other towns. Break even in costs while trying out the act "on the road", building buzz.

Adam makes the money from the tour. Sony makes the money from the resulting record sales. IMHO, Adam is young, single, and childless, and in it for the long-term, he can afford to wait, let the album launch, and figure out the smart tour move. All the time using his showmanship and charisma to book as much TV as possible.

  • http://www.planetfierce.proboards.com/ CindyM

Just got home from seeing 2012. All three early shows were sold out (showing on 3 theaters at a 12 plex). TFM sounded glorious in the theater and about 30-35 people were still there after the song ended. Most of those people got up and left after the song ended so I knew I had some Adam stans in my vicinity. One family in front of me, a 12 year old told her dad she wanted to stay to hear Adam’s song.. It was cute. What was cuter?? The dad who had his feet up on the seat in front of him started bopping his feet and head to the music. When they got up, he said that was good!!

  • mayang

i would love to see adam on tour. maybe it will be soon. just need to wait. btw, thanks to those who post “unca dave” blog of neil, though its kinda brief. i would love to know how adam beat neil verbally on that incident. if someone knows about it,(coz its not on his blog anymor)well kindly post it or tell it. thnk you. nwey, adam always look stunning.

  • KLI

My teens love rihanna and Adam so if it’s true he’s opening for her we’ll all be there. I just want his record to do well enough for him to tour.

The thought of never seeing him perform again in concert is totally unacceptable!!!

  • mayang

i love looking at dam’s pix sitting near the stairs just like his pix sitting and looking at the camera, wc seems like he was waiting outside the principal’s office and waiting for his turn to go inside.. hehhehe. its funny.

  • Lynne

For those of you that have been through this before, I am new to all of this because of Adam, when do these guys usually announce their tours if they happen?

  • mayang

jamie king is still young?jas saw his pix(if its really him)

  • bridgette12

“Oops penzap, I did not see that headline, sorry. Odd that the text leaves out the word ‘tour’ though. Adam himself has said any possible tour is contingent on how the album sells. So there may be preliminary plans being made, but I doubt anything is certain.”

I think Adam already knows who he is going to be touring with. I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear all the details about it after his album is released. It’s a slam dunk that Adam will be touring next year, it’s just the matter of which big star is he opening for.

  • Adamslamb

Hi CindyM…..we went saw 2012 today too. Good movie. Theater had a good crowd but not sold out. Adam’s voice is amazing in surround sound. We had the opposite from you. Most of our audience left and didn’t even hear him sing. We stayed to see his name on the big screen. We had company but it was the cleaning crew. So we were the only 3 left to hear him sing. Oh well there loss.

  • glitter

BTW WYWFM played on Open House Party today a radio show that is nationally syndicated.

  • KLI

My 13 y/o and her friend went to 2012 last night and they said that most people left after the movie but some stayed. They stayed to listen to Adam sing and when tfm started my daughter’s friend started cheering and yelling Adam’s name. My daughter was mortified but I thought it was great her friend started cheering for him. She said that they got some funny looks but who cares. Too bad those folks left. They missed out. I’ll go next week.

  • Adamslamb

Sorry this is off subject but just reading my new EW magazine and Adam got a good mention. The article is about Super Monday. Here is the mention of Adam….” a rep for Amazon tells EW that presales for that week are the highest of the year – and that Lambert has done better in preorders than any other American Idol alum ever” thought that was a good news for him. They used the Young Hollywood award picture.
Sorry if this was mentioned before. Didn’t see it.

So Adam is into astrology and is an Aquarius. I am a Cancer. Does that mean I am okay to be a fan? I’m guessing it is. Aquarius is water…Cancer is a crab…water & crab go together, right? F**k I know nothing about this stuff. I’m a f**king waste I guess. Well, even if the signs don’t match, tough f**cking shit because I like Adam too much. I suppose I could lie about my birthdate. F**k, I am over 40 so I should be allowed.

F**KING great news about the possible f**king tour!! Can’t wait to see his AMA performance of FYE….f**k, it will be EPIC!!

I thought he was f**king off the show when the pics came out. I was a nervous f**king wreck as I had just “discovered” Adam during MJ week. But f**k if America proved me wrong….WOOOHOOO!! My 20 yr old daughter told me people will think I’m a lesbian if I buy Out. I told her I didn’t give a f**k. She thinks it’s awesome that her mother is buying a gay magazine.

Neil said be prepared to have our asses blown out by Adam’s CD. Said ass is ready for you Adam. (F**K that didn’t come out right) Well you all know what the f**k I mean.

  • mayang

    dats funny lorismile

  • mayang

u know wat i really love neil, i think he is snob….

neil said prepare ur ass to be blown… after hearing his bro album 2nd time… i really think he is kinda snob.but hes so masculine.. and i really love him… but i love adam more.

    Hi lorismile,
It doesn`t matter what astrological sign you are, for, you can be a fan of anyone in any sign.So enjoy the Boy!!!
But if you are interested at all, really, Adam Gorgeous Lambert is a AIR sign. there are 3 , gemini, Libra, and Aguarius. You are a Cancerian
and are a water sign. Scorpio and Pices are also water, and generally, your
most compatible signs . But you can be compatible to a number of signs,
depending on where the planets were at the time of your birth. So you would need to know the longitude and latitude and your exact time of birth and. as well, determining, if, where you live has daylight savings time and adjust………………Better yet, have your Horoscope done for you.
I, too am a Cancer. So, like the smart crab that I am, I just ask them to Bag
    it, when buying alternative literature….Heeeee.

  • dyg1

Here ´s a Libra (air sign) loving WYWFM and MP more and more.
Hope we get some photos from the video taping today.

I am so excited about the news on Adam ´s tour. Can ´t wait!

  • unique28v

I think radio stations might be more open to playing WYWFM because its a P!nk song and she’s real hot right now.

  • ianaleah

i was looking at people on the Out 100 cover-estaablished artists and Adam just starting out (no pun intended) very gutsy. But for Rumors: what is the deal regarding the CD “Take One”- Will Adam make money from it or not- my decision whether to purchase depends on the answer. I heard snippets and love it quite a lot, but will not buy unless Adam gets paid.

  • LoveDaRocker

[Take One] – I heard snippets and love it quite a lot, but will not buy unless Adam gets paid.
