Adam and his band sound fantastic!

Whataya Want From Me? Music! Thanks Adam! 8)

  • jammasta

    LOVE it. Amazing.

  • conklas

Awesome! I loved both versions from today. I honestly enjoy hearing this song sung live even more than I like the CD version. He sings it with so much emotion…oh and the band sounds and looks great too. Very impressed.

  • http://www.noahsarkworkshop.com/tammyluebrecht_s9189 tammyinohio

When I die, I want to come back as Adam’s pants!! Ohhh and yeah, he does sound amazing. :)

  • dhunken

It seemed he was singing with such earnestness. Whataya Want from me.. Well Adam I just want you to sing and be you. Oh and I want Suburban Decay download now!! ;-)

  • Dlynne

When I die, I want to come back as Adam’s pants!! Ohhh and yeah, he does sound amazing.

    omg. me too.

  • idolislife

Wow. He sounds fantastical :) . Much redemption :) …he can still sing his face off hahaha…I got slightly doubtful after well…you guys know what happened..

  • jammasta

I love the way he lifts up his hands in a sense of frustration when he says Whataya Want From Me. I think it’s pretty appropriate in his situation.

  • dcglam

Adam and his band sound fantastic!

Boy, do they ever! And they look just as fabulous.
Yes, it’s been a very good day being an Adam fan……. :)

  • abbysee

He’s fab. The band is tight, as are those pants, delightfully so ;)

Adam is a star, that’s all.

  • ravengirl

Why do people keep talking about Suburban Decay? Where is it?

  • fanaround

Adam was amazing! It was interesting to me that he gave two differently nuanced performances of Whataya Want From Me. The letterman performance taped Tues night seemed much more forceful and heart-wrenching, while I felt like the one on the Early Show Wed morning was much more yearning and soft. Both were fantastic. Well done Adam and band!

  • adamisthemanfan

you know the stars are just aligned for Adam succeed…
this song is just a PERFECT response to what happened at the AMA’s…
they lyrics have so much more meaning now, it makes the song so much better…
and he does sing it with honesty and passion…
    me loves it LOL
Did I mention he looks hot?
    LOL

  • bbfan

Amazing – such a talented guy. fanaround – very astute observations

  • Maria22

Great performance, yes he and the band sounded very tight and I liked the ‘rock and roll’ edge as opposed to the more tender version this morning.
What an appropriate song for his experiences of the last couple of weeks.
It wasn’t my favorite song from the album but it’s really growing on me! Yes, the tight pants don’t hurt either :) Very easy on the eyes…

  • idolislife

Adam’s tight pants make me feel dangerous. Just sayin. Heheh…

  • PattyH

Wow! They sounded so good! Yes, a much more intense version than this morning.
I love that Adam’s band looks so good. To me, it shows that they care about their audience. Lisa is stunning!

  • mrskiddens

    Once again, just, happy applause.

I feel like this was Adam Lambert Day.

    YAY.

  • IdolThoughts

Great performance. I love how he punctuated the chorus to really drive it home. Love that.
    Also…’sup Glambuldge?!

Oh…and did he mention earlier that Voodoo was a collab with Sam Sparro? If so…and not just something I made up in my dreamlike state of mind…I would LOVE to hear that. Sam Sparro is major ear candy time for me. Heh.

  • Jhoy2theworld

It’s certainly appropriate. He looked so vulnerable, earnest and singing from his heart about this whole AMA experience. I’m loving this song more and more. When is his next tv performance?

    YAY.

    Um…isn’t everyday Adam Lambert Day?…. ;-)

  • ptslittlecomment

Adam is now the topic for the insider arguement on The Insider

They said (something like) “after the controversy Adam’s CD skyrocketed to the top of the charts.” They also plugged his Letterman appearance.

  • marg

Great performance, from Adam’s vocals to the band….enjoyed! Thank you Adam & thank you Dave for Adam’s invite. Happy Thanksgiving…rock on

  • dcglam

I love that Adam’s band looks so good. To me, it shows that they care about their audience. Lisa is stunning!

ITA! They are such a classy looking group.

  • Glamour

Fell asleep on the couch and missed it, so thank you very much for this! That was awesome!

  • http://www.fatladysings.us TFLS

Wonderful – he and his band. I can listen to him all day long. Such a beautiful, expressive voice. Easy on the eyes, too. You know – it’s really amazing how many media pundits seem to have their knives sharpened for Adam – and in an exaggerated way. They all seem to forget the man can SING. I can’t help but remember the hoopla surrounding Madonna in her heyday. She’s done all that and more; banned by MTV more than once, videos relegated to after midnight viewing, censored (and censured) by the Vatican….Adam’s an infant in those terms. One can only hope he’ll still be knockin’ ‘em dead at 50!

  • wonderings

Adam & band sounded really good! Sounds like he had some nice b/g track support this time. I like the song much better than FYE too. For whatever reason I don’t believe Adam when he sings – it still seems like drama!face.

Off to watch real rockstars – the Muppets do BoRhap…. :)

  • happycat14

ravengirl, here’s a link to the Suburban Decay demo. Written by Justin Hawkins (you can hear his original Music Again demo, and his blog entry about Adam from today).

  • unique28v

Adam and the band definitely sounded fantastic here. Even better than this morning on CBS. I hope RCA decides to push this song and radio stations give it a chance because it could definitely be a hit for Adam. Its a great song and the lyrics are on point.

  • alxsavage

It was nice for once to see Adam performing at the same time you did guys!

I really enjoyed it, beautiful, heartfelt and so, so fitting. I just love this album.

  • JosieX

    That was great!

You know, so far it seems like Adam’s life is a movie, and his album is providing the perfect soundtrack for it. I want to know what song he’s going to do next, so I can brace myself for what’s going to happen to him next. ;)

  • Layla

The record label should put this out NOW as a single…especially as he is performing it on talk shows…it has radio hit written all over it! He and band sounded great. You just go my pretty talented gay boy!

  • ptslittlecomment

watched the insider just to see their Adam dicussion. According to their online poll only 21 percent thought Adam was OTT on AMAs. 79 percent said it was just a performance.

  • Keel

For whatever reason I don’t believe Adam when he sings ‘“ it still seems like drama!face.

Oh wow, I think you just hit the nail right on the head for me. Still think he’s quite talented though and hope he hits it out of the park with this single and, more importantly, the album.

  • riaspark17

Love this song. But I still wonder why they didn’t turn to Fever as the next single after FYE failed? The song seems to be getting great reviews across the board from the critics, and he could sure use the Gaga connection.

  • Grammie Kari

It was interesting to me that he gave two differently nuanced performances of Whataya Want From Me.

Both versions were wonderful. Now, he came across as a performer that can sing.

I am still haunted by the AMA performances, and I don’t like what was said in parts of the Early Show interview. However, I feel Adam’s career is now on it’s way. Soon, people will forget what happened Sunday night.

  • mr

Don’t worry about Fever- I’m sure it’ll be out later on… I think it’s good to have WWFM follow FYE- and I also didn’t like it that much at first, but after a few listens it really grows on you… that guitar, and the way he sounds so vulnerable in it…
Someone asked about Suburban Decay- no, no one’s heard it yet, but Adam described it to Jim Cantiello as being VERY THEATRICAL, much more so than Soaked, that could easily be a soundrack to a vampire movie… and so, yeah, it sounds really interesting… I love me some theatrical Adam!!!
Hopefully we’ll get to hear it one day.

  • Keel

Love this song. But I still wonder why they didn’t turn to Fever as the next single after FYE failed? The song seems to be getting great reviews across the board from the critics, and he could sure use the Gaga connection.

Agreed. I really liked Fever the first time I heard it! And also scratched my head as to why they didn’t release that instead of FYE. I don’t agree though that he needs or could use the GaGa connection.

  • mfab

    :-)

  • GaGaGlambert

It was interesting to me that he gave two differently nuanced performances of Whataya Want From Me. The letterman performance taped Tues night seemed much more forceful and heart-wrenching, while I felt like the one on the Early Show Wed morning was much more yearning and soft.

fanaround, completely agree with you. However, I’m pretty sure that the Letterman performance was taped Monday, the day after the AMAs. I was at The Early show on Friday morning and Adam and the band looked and sounded fantastic. Adam spent lots of time on the plaza before his performance and was very relaxed and smiling the whole time. Two different performances probably influenced by where he was personally.

  • Natasha

Agreed. I really liked Fever the first time I heard it! And also scratched my head as to why they didn’t release that instead of FYE. I don’t agree though that he needs or could use the GaGa connection.

Fever is the hottest song on the album. It’s crazy and has hit written all over it. I also think WWFM is a potential hit though. They just need to use these songs wisely and not screw around. They released FYE late, went for immediate adds and then didn’t do anything.

He looked stunning on Letterman and sang really well.

  • Kanadie Bonttell

It seemed he was singing with such earnestness. Whataya Want from me.. Well Adam I just want you to sing and be you. Oh and I want Suburban Decay download now!!

Sorry to go of topic, but if you want to hear Justin Hawkins demo of This Urban Dekay AKA Suburban Decay it is on his myspace along with his demo of Music Again….Interesting stuff..I could hear Adam making it very Queenesk.

  • GaGaGlambert

riaspark17 and mr, I luuuuvvvvvvvvvv “Fever” but don’t think it will be out as a single soon because the album wrapper has a sticker that says: “includes: For Your Entertainment, Whataya Want From Me, Music Again and Winners.” FYE was already released, WWFM is getting lots of air play and Music Again was a song performed on The Early Show. Looks like Sure Fire Winners would follow, unless there is a change of plan.

  • readon

You go away for a while and you find that there are so many new people posting.

Hello. Happy to see you all. And you too dhunken, old timer.

Today was a great Adam day. It’s been quite a roller coaster ride. It remiinded me of why I didn’t like roller coasters. My opinions have changed. It’s wild, but it’s fun. I think I will have to try those roller coasters again.

Adam and the band were great.

  • readon

I hope you are right. I love Sure Fire Winners.

Love this song. But I still wonder why they didn’t turn to Fever as the next single after FYE failed? The song seems to be getting great reviews across the board from the critics, and he could sure use the Gaga connection.

It’s probably because of the use of male pronouns by a male. It was a bold move, by ADAM and RCA! However, given the climate in this country-Fever may not be the best song to start out with. Maybe later.

I am extremely impressed with Adam and his band after seeing the two performances today! He looked and sounded beautiful! I can’t believe this band has only been together for a short time! Adam got some experienced musicians. (and they look hawt)

  • alxsavage

    Sure Fire Winners would follow

I really hope not, it might be just me, but it really is the weakest song on the album.

Sleepwalker should absolutely be a sigle, IMHO.

  • GaGaGlambert

Sleepwalker should absolutely be a single, IMHO.

It is one of my top two favorite songs on the album. Can’t imagine this not being a single a some point.

But I still wonder why they didn’t turn to Fever as the next single

It’s probably because of the use of male pronouns by a male.

Interesting perspective. I hadn’t considered it, but you may be right. My thought is that Adam’s going to perform it on tour, maybe then release it as a single. It’s too good not to be. I’m sure it’s already being played in clubs.

  • justjude

Hey, Here I sit just waiting for Adams performance on Letterman. Just a few more minutes being on Pacific time.
    Time goes so slowlyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He sounded so good on the Early Show and I am looking forward to
    comparing them.
BTW, I really dislike the rather disaproving and supersilious attitude of the
interviewer /hostess Who sounded very condesending and kind 0f
reprimaded Adam, implying he should have not have been risque because of the children. While I must say he should have put in his rehearsles all
of his live content. I feel that does not need to co-parent other peoples
children. I mean, it was advertised that Adam was going to have a very
provocative act. What were these parents real complaints, or was it just descrimination because of him being a gay male period!!!!JMO!!

  • Dlynne

Adam and the band definitely sounded fantastic here. Even better than this morning on CBS. I hope RCA decides to push this song and radio stations give it a chance because it could definitely be a hit for Adam. Its a great song and the lyrics are on point.

I heard it on satellite radio today. I also heard it on a local station here in California. I love both songs.

  • Esqt

I just watched Letterman…and ADAM was awesome! They looked great, sounded great, like they’ve been playing together for years. I’ld say, t’was a display of pure musical excellence in any form right before my eyes. What a treat!!!

  • justjude

Ok. I like the letterman version best. He added what the Early show
rendition lacked…..defiance and frustration, which, IMO is what the song needed. He sang it too low key this AM on ES. Maybe, he felt a little beaten down by the supercilious interviewer….Oh, I just can’t stand that kind of subtle, semi patient, moral correction!!!!! Yah, I found his Ama performance slightly squirmey, but I was not offended. The only thing that really bothered me was the FINGER as I wondered if it was for us all, or primarily the live
audience or someone who might have dared him????? Luckily I did see the MTV interview with jim so…..Everything is goodI don’t know why we are so
skittish over a gay man doing no more than what a lot of women have simulated on TV for years. tonight on SYTYCD Shakira simulate what looked
like masterbation and man was she and her dancer were given the air around them….A Realizz Good Time for a short time!!

  • saga

Suburbian Decay is f*cking awesome. It’s absolutely lovely! I really want it.

  • BeckyMD

    The performance was fantastic!!!!

Did you watch the SIRIUS XM interview? It was great. Adam was relaxed and beautiful. The talk of music was really funny.

    There are 5 clips.

Don’t know if anyone else has a problem with the EDIT function. I find I can only correct the first 4- 5 lines for spelling etc. Sorry, I’m a poor typist and speller, and I Failed most of grade school. Consequently…..It shows. HEEE!

  • mr

    Hey GaGaGlambert -

I’d LOVE for SFW to be a single- I personally think it’s one of his best – better than Music Again- but I agree that there is no chance in HELL that they won’t release Sleepwalker at some point- regardless of what it says on the sticker- that one is the surest hit on the album! It’s not my FAVOURITE, but it’s the song that keeps getting stuck in my head and singing involuntarily, lol

  • mr

Oh- yeah- and thanks for the link to “This Urban Dekay AKA Suburban Decay”- Man! It sounds good! It could replace “Strut” as far as I’m concerned…

  • saga

Oh- yeah- and thanks for the link to ‘This Urban Dekay AKA Suburban Decay’ - Man! It sounds good! It could replace ‘Strut’ as far as I’m concerned’ ¦

No, no, no! I love the guitar run in strut! But suburban decay sounds TOTALLY awesome.

  • JosieX

BTW, I really dislike the rather disaproving and supersilious attitude of the
interviewer /hostess Who sounded very condesending and kind 0f

I understand how you feel, but I think it’s actually a useful thing, and I’m sure Adam expected it and it didn’t make him feel badly toward her. I think it serves a useful function to help viewers who might be a little mad at him get some closure on the issue. If they see him getting his hand smacked, then they can say “well there, he got his talking to so now I can forgive him and move on”. I think it’s very likely that they discussed this together ahead of time, or at least his PR person prepared him for what was certain to happen.

  • BeckyMD

No, no, no! I love the guitar run in strut! But suburban decay sounds TOTALLY awesome.

Suburban decay does sound cool. I would love to hear Adam’s version too. btw, I like Adam’s Music Again better than the demo version.

ETA, Sirius XM will play FYE the WHOLE album next Monday!!

  • saga

btw, I like Adam’s Music Again better than the demo version.

I didn’t listen to that one. I liked the live version of MA much more than the album version. I didn’t like the strong falsetto they used on the album at all but the soft falsetto he used at the morning show was lovely.

  • mr

Okay okay, Saga, I’ll let you keep Strut.

    I’m generous that way :-)

I know it’s been written a thousand times, but I’ll write it again: It’s just amazing to me that there is one song on the album which I think is bad.
Even the ones I like least- I still like.

  • saga

    Let me guess, Aftermath?

  • mr

Oh- I can’t edit! I meant that there ISN’T one song I can call bad!
LOL- talk about have one word (or lack of it) changing the hole meaning of a sentance!

And Aftermath is a perfect example of a song I like less, but still makes me feel kinda nice when I hear it.
It’s a guilty pleasure song- I know it’s not really original, and it’s a little banal, but it still pleases me :-)

  • mr

And I meant to write “whole” and not “hole”…. no editing is problematic…

  • jtoms

i’m sad they’re not pushing FYE since i like it a bit better than WWFM, but i think this is undeniably catchy.

    lambert-heads, here’s a treat:

justin hawkins demos (i’m assuming) of both music again and suburban decay, the latter which was left off the album.

    http://www.myspace.com/justinhawkinsridesagain

adam did music again justice, and that’s high compliment since i love the darkness

  • cmc25

Great song and good performance from Adam. WWFM is becoming my favorite.

I never like the cover of his CD. Fortunately, the accompanying booklet inside the case gives one an option to change it to a fiercer look.

  • soverymel

Aw, Justin Hawkins put up a blog entry about Adam as well. Between this and his tweets back and forth with Adam about writing together, I think we have another member of the Brian May/Meatloaf Adam fan club. He sounds like a super nice guy:

    Adam Lambert
Adam Lambert has kindly thanked me in his album sleeve notes.

He says “Justin Hawkins: I believe in a thing called YOU. :) Thank you for making it rock.”

    Yay!

I really love listening to Adam’s version of Music Again. I would have liked to have included it in my myspace player but I doubt if I’m allowed. I tried to put some The Darkness songs on it and I was immediately blocked and made to complete a copyright education quiz. I don’t ever want to go through that again.

I understand why myspace are being so hardline to protect copyright ownership, but I wrote the majority of the song in question, sang it, played guitar on it, originally funded the recording, promoted it shamelessly for years only to be made to feel like a sex offender when I try to use the song as a showcase for my songwriting abilities.

For now you’ll have to put up with the original demo version of Music Again, but please buy Adam Lambert’s album “For Your Entertainment”.

    Thank YOU Adam!

And then he includes a link to the buy the CD on Amazon. Nice.

  • soverymel

I never like the cover of his CD. Fortunately, the accompanying booklet inside the case gives one an option to change it to a fiercer look.

Exactly! If there’s anyone whose virulent hatred of the CD cover has prevented them from buying it, Adam’s built in an easy solution for you! I don’t have it right here in front of me, but IIRC if you simply flip the CD insert around back to front, your CD cover is now the the same picture as the CD single cover for FYE the song.

  • mr

Wow- what a great blog post from Justin!
I’m sooo glad Adam’s so respected by peers. It’s so heartwarming!

  • saga

I like that pac man sound in the background of this version of WWFM. HQ version.

This is so funny!. Today I finally bought FYE at Walmart, and bought an extra for a coworker who loved some of the little snippets I made her listen to. When I gave her the CD she looked at it a little funny..then she opened it, looked at the inside, and immediately flipped the picture over to the single cover. “There, that’s better” she said, looking very satisfied :)

  • saga

I love Lettermans yeah! in the end of WWFM! Sounds like they were all routing for him to kill it and he did.

  • zoya

As not a fan of FYE, really not the sound I like, I think this song is amazing. Hope they push it to the radio, has hit potential written all over it.

  • tamalepie

I thought it was interesting that both the big radio shows that Adam did in NY really highlighted “Fever”–the Elvis Duran show even played part of it. I would not be surprised if it was released as a single at some point. IMO, it would be a more natural single than SFW, although I love that song. I don’t think that the male pronoun will be an issue, though, who knows? I wouldn’t have thought that GMA would cancel Adam’s appearance either, lol.

Now it comes out that they have booked convicted girlfriend-beater Chris Brown. Hmmm…beat your girlfriend to a pulp–A-OK for GMA! Just don’t do any boy-kissing, ’cause that will get you canceled. I am so disgusted right now.

  • lucy

Well, I’m glad we’ve finally got past PinkRejectGate. WWFM is obviously a good song and works well for Adam. Similarly, LLWD for Kris.

Just because somebody didn’t want to put a song on their own album or feature it heavily in their own recorded work doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a crappy song. (although I must say that the history of Idol debut albums *does* make you fear that …). Glad that 19/Sony finally seems to have got past the urge to stick the idols with dregs.

Two really good, rather different performances of WWFM from Adam yesterday. Off to a good start, I think.

  • lucy

Now it comes out that they have booked convicted girlfriend-beater Chris Brown. Hmmm’ ¦beat your girlfriend to a pulp’“A-OK for GMA! Just don’t do any boy-kissing, ’cause that will get you canceled. I am so disgusted right now.

How dare you say that the boy-kissing was an issue?? It was *so* not!! lol. … Yeah, right.

As Adam mentioned to Slezak yesterday — In America, we’re fine with violence. But sex? Not so much.

  • Kirsten

The record label should put this out NOW as a single’ ¦especially as he is performing it on talk shows’ ¦it has radio hit written all over it!

They already did. WWFM went for adds on Nov 24th (Tuesday).

  • Squirrely

    Great Job!

  • Nina1

Great song!!! And two excellent peformances for Wednesday. Very, very nice.

  • Squirrely

The Slezak interview is so good. Jim and Slezak asked some really good questions.

  • Squirrely
  • mitchellvii

    Only one simple question:

Why oh why couldn’t THIS have been the song he sang at the AMA’s? Simply incredible that Adam can sound THIS good live. NOBODY sounds this good live.

  • mayang

is his sales doing well? the insider show said his album skyrocketed on the charts!!!

  • mitchellvii

P.S., STILL hate the album cover. He says that 19 didn’t want it and he fought for it. Wish he hadn’t. The FYE single cover is SOOOO much better.

Other than that and songs like “Strut” (sorry Kara, but you just write some CORNY lyrics), the album is pure amazingness.

  • mayang

i would really like to know tommys background? wer he came from and who he is… i think he and adam looks good together… yay.

  • soverymel

When I gave her the CD she looked at it a little funny..then she opened it, looked at the inside, and immediately flipped the picture over to the single cover. ‘There, that’s better’ she said, looking very satisfied

That’s so funny! Love that she figured it out in just a couple seconds.

  • mitchellvii

Adam doesn’t look good when he is trying to look “serious and fierce”. I know he is going for sexy but that isn’t a sexy look for him because it does look fake – like he is acting. Adam is such a kind, genuine soul that he looks sexiest when he is just being him, like on his WWFM performance on CBS this am.

In his FYE video, the hard, fierce looks just don’t work for me and look a bit silly and contrived.

Stop trying so hard to be sexy Adam. You already are.

  • http://legan0.tripod.com mama2dasha

I almost wanted to do some cover flippin in Walmart-I stood in a long line and was kinda self conscious holding those two CD’s. And I actually like the cover! It just didn’t fit in with my checkout line demographic-and if you spend a lot of time at Walmart, you will know what I mean.

  • St.Lucia

you know, I never really liked WDYWFM on the Cd, but all of a sudden because of the live performance its really growing on me! I get it stuck in my head all the time, way more catchy than FYE.

    Great job, Adam!

  • Miss Chaos

I love Fever turning it up loud in the car, MMMMMMM. I love the whole album. Loved the performance last nite, stayed up to watch it love. And love talking about the favorite songs on the album, and what is liked about them. Adam is so different with different circumstances. Keeps it interesting!!!!

  • KLI

I watched this performance with my 13 year old daughter. Her one comment?

    “Mom, those pants are amazing!!!”

And She NEVER says stuff like that to me. LOL.

  • dcglam

When showing the CD cover to the audience, I would have loved for David to have mentioned something like “…….includes the soundtrack for the recent movie, TIME FOR MIRACLES.” I’m surprised they didn’t make a mention of that on The Early Show, either. Just saying…….

Since I usually can’t get the links to work for me I will post this.

Billboard magazine reported on Wednesday that in the wake of the scandal of Adam Lambert’s appearance on the American Music Awards show, advance sales for his album, “For Your Entertainment,” have skyrocketed. The album, which will be released next week, has passed 225,000 in sales with Billboard estimating it will reach at least 600,000 ‘” and more, if Sony can keep it in stock, which it is scrambling to do, not having expected such demand.

Let me try this link thingy and maybe someone knows if this is a legit site.

  • Genevieve

Ok, why can’t I ever get the links to work? I press the link and enter the url and then select “ok”. If someone can give me a little advice, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

  • dcglam

Sleepwalker should absolutely be a sigle, IMHO.

    ITA!
Love them all, but Sleepwalker is my absolute favorite.

  • KathyH

Genevieve, you need to read that article more carefully. It came up in my email links because I’m a David Archuleta fan and his name is mentioned, but they are saying that Adam should come in with numbers around what David Cook did last year. Later they talk about Susan Boyle possibly having numbers around 600,000 if Sony can keep the album in stock.

    Hi Genevieve,
you either just past it into your post like this,
    http://mjsbigblog.com/adam-lambert-late-show-with-david-letterman-video.htm#comments

OR, you can use the link button to turn text into a link, like this.

Just hilight the words you want to be the link, click the link button, put the url in the box and click okay. The words should show up in blue and you can click on them.

    Hope this helps

  • mr

    Genevieve -

In my experience- you don’t even have to press link- just copy&paste the URL to your post and it’ll automatically become a link…
That’s how it’s worked for me so far…
But 600,000 copies??? I wouldn’t even dare to hope that it sells so much…

  • Genevieve

Thanks for the info Sparkles. And thanks for the clarification KathyH, I was questioning its validity since I had read this article in stltoday.com and didn’t know if they were incorrectly referencing the post.

  • KathyH

Ah, so another source referenced the LATimes article incorrectly? Sheesh. I guess I’m not surprised in this age of Internet news … we need the detail people to find a way to ‘rein in’ the inaccuracies.

  • Chicagolaw

I think the 600,000 was talking about Susan Boyle. But, Adam is kicking butt. Yesterday was a super day to be a fan of Adam Lambert. I loved both performances of WWFM. And, I love Music Again so, so much! There is so much material on the album that needs to be heard; I hope RCA plays it smart with the single releases.

  • weareallinnocent

Man, that was good. Way to go, Adam!

Thanks for posting MJ. I gave in to the snooze before Dave got to Adam, as I knew I probably would. :-) Knew I could count on you though!

Happy Thanksgiving to All (who celebrate it! Happy Day to Everyone~)

I watched this performance with my 13 year old daughter. Her one comment?

    ‘Mom, those pants are amazing!!!’

And She NEVER says stuff like that to me. LOL.

Does anyone else find it hilarious and oh so appropriate that that show ends with “World Wide Leader in Pants.” Or has that already been discussed.
I had to go back and make sure I heard it correctly.

“Worldwide Pants” is Letterman’s production company. I have no idea why he called it that – but it’s been the producer of his show forever. Just an amusing coincidence :)

I did watch the show last night. I love Letterman, so I usually watch him a few times a week anyway. And, I find Natalie Portman just adorable, so it was a good show for me. I thought Adam did a fabulous job. He sounded great, and I think that’s a really good song.

Hopefully, the rest of his upcoming TV appearances turn out just as well.

I went to the link for Justin hawkins (Urban Decay AKA Suburban decay).
I really like that and I hope Adam will put that one out in the future as it
totally suits his voice. Page or so Back on this Thread. Very good song
I have enjoyed These videos, and interviews tonight……What a Adam Feast!!!Enjoyed the bit re America versus sex. Yeah, Sex is hidden, and violence ,and hatred are celebrated.Interesting the juxtaposition of being ok with women and girls being sexual objects(revered), and the largest target of violence perpetrated, mostly,by hetrosexual males…Not the ADAMS of the world
I was raised in very strict Evangelical religion SDA`s I was so ready to revolt and bolt that I left 3 weeks before I got my BSC. One of those snapping points in life ,and took to things similar to Mr. Lambert.
Life became very interesting and I had a second childhood. I spent a lot of time with very freedom oriented people almost living on wreck Beach when I returned to my country. I am happy that I have seen such contrasts of ideolgy and found my middle ground spiritually.!!!!!

My experiences have provided me with caution when needed, and adventure when desired!!
Today I am just counting down to the inevitable end, having the big C .
Knowing this has helped to lliberate me from convention and finally I have become a I Pod carrying senior who flails along with the rest of ADAMS FANS. My whole perspective has altered since the Diagnosis. I am so cared for by family and my Partner of 23 years who I finally married this August.
I had been so stuborn, but she never left and told me I was stuck like glue.
So nothing really shocks me but I do prefer class to trash. I absolutely love his video……just the right balance. I am a happy and gratefull human to have had such a rich and blessed life.

Superb performance. This song grew on me and so didn’t FYE. The song Sleepwalker is my favorite song on the whole album. I really hope he releases that as a single.

  • JB1

OK – NOW we are talking. Had he done that on the AMA’s he would have blown people away. Instead he tried for this sophmoric toilet “look at me” spectacle.

His singing is what will get him fame and fortune, not his social statements. The boy can sing.

I think there is little doubt that Adam is one of the most talented people on the planet. Loved his performances on Wed.

  • Miss Chaos

He sings that song with so much emotion, just nice. And I just noticed that Tommy,s guitar is bigger that he is, I dont know how he even holds it up. HEE

  • Miss Chaos

And ya, he should have done a performance like that at the AMA’s but sadly what he did got him more attention in the media, and also gave him that awsome spot on the CBS, so it did work out better for him, but hate how it had to all come about. Along with it a great learning experience, you cant get caught up in the moment like that, so no more, Adam, you gotta think more about your performances, no matter how high your adrenilne gets.

AMA performance = Trashy – worst vocal
Early Show Performance = Classy – excellent vocal
David Letterman Performance = Classy- excellent vocal

  • Suzanne

So does this mean that RCA has jumped to the next single b/c FYE (the single) didn’t perform as expected for pickups by radio and downloads? If so, that is SO smart of them. I wish Jive had the same strategy. Honestly, if Kris’s LLWD doesn’t continue to rise they must get the next single out ASAP for him.

That was a great perf. by adam and company. Not a huge fan of the flashing lights in our eyes from behind Adam tho.

WWFM is at #112 on the overall iTunes chart (#54 on pop). Anyone know where it was prior to Letterman performance? Did it get a bump?

  • http://legan0.tripod.com mama2dasha

WWFM is moving up-now at 112-last I saw it was 115. FYE is bouncing between 23 and 24. I love WWFM, Can’t listen to FYE right now due to PTSD from Sunday. As soon as I recover, i will probably like it again (the FYE video is helping in my recovery).

  • Jae

Awesome perfoormance yet again. This is the Adam I know and love. He and his band were terrific.

  • Bowie1

mama2dasha–the FYE video was what got me back ‘liking and listening’ to the song again!!

The Letterman performance was great. I, also, loved the Early Show performance. I hope he sings “Music Again” on Ellen’s show. He seemed so happy and we got to see that wonderful smile again!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone….got to go start perparing Thanksgiving dinner now!

  • alwaysintrouble

he sounded and looked great! I really like that song and it has special relevance given the current situation.

  • Rub

At the end when David went to look at the cover of the CD to read the title, Adam shows a brief air of concern.

At 2:36, I can live without the classic cowbell hits, though it was too pronounced due to the levels on the live mix turned too high. Interesting to note, the cowbell section isn’t in the studio recording, but a bit of a Longineu addition. I think it gives it a used, uninspired breath. Just my opinion – I like to listen to the whole arrangement – on a live setup, which is where you show your horses.

Most likely a freedom Adam gives his drummer.

  • Adamme

Awesome perfoormance yet again. This is the Adam I know and love. He and his band were terrific.

Agree to the Awesome performance… but that’s not the Adam you know… if you think you know him because of ToMT and Mad World.. you don’t know him at all. This David Letterman’s performance may the Adam you love but NOT the Adam you know. Adam is not a one dimensional artist. You need to check all his works before he’s on AI.

Lee Cherry, and Adam’s ex-bosses in Upright Cabaret said “America has only seen a tip of the iceberg of Adam Lambert”. I, myself, couldn’t wait to see the whole thing that Adam can give us.

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY

  • midwifespal

    Hey,
I was lucky enough to be at the Letterman taping, and he did indeed sound terrific–everybody loved it. I can also confirm that the band looked incredibly hot–that is one good-looking band.

Although my friend who works for the show and hooked me up with the seats did take me and my man down and backstage afterwards, I unfortunately did not get to meet Adam (although she did get him to sign a magazine and album cover for me :) ). But I’ll try to provide whatever inside info I can:

My friend said that Adam and the band hung out in the Green Room for quite a while and seemed to be really enjoying the ride their on–she said their attitude was basically: this is craziness–lets take advantage of it and just have fun! I got to hang in the green room a bit myself after, and I can confirm that judging by all the consumed fruit and cupcake crumbs they certainly took advantage of the free goodies!

As friends of someone on the show, we were shown in with a large group of similarly-connected special people, including Leila and Neil Lambert and presumably an aunt. They had a blast (sat quite near us) and laughed quite a bit at Letterman. After, walking out, they seemed to be discussing what this performance would do for Adam–funny but of course obvious that, just like us, they’re watching every moving hoping things work out for him and analyzing it all–and Leila said something about how good the performance was, and Neil said something sarcastic like, oh, I don’t think one performance will make any difference, and Leila laughed and (this was great) bopped him on the head with her water bottle saying “Neil, stop ruining it!” THey looked pleased.
Hmm, any other (watery) juice… Only thing I noticed was that while the roadies were setting up for the band during the last commercial break I saw Letterman looking at the album cover and talking to one of his writers, and it looked like he was saying–THIS is the GUY? –not so much laughing at it, or horrified, or anything, but genuinely interested. Okay, really watery juice. Sorry, its all I got.

Still, very very fun, and it was nice to see Adam enjoying himself so much.

Please tell your friend the show did a great job. The camera work was the best ever. Professional. And thank goodness they got Lisa in several shots and closeups. Shes gorgeous and the camera loves her. It was a great taping. Although I enjoyed The Early Show the direction and camera shots didn’t hold a candle to Letterman’s crew.

About two thirds of the way down this page is a series of three interviews totalling around 23 minutes. In one of them (can’t remember which) Adam talks about “Suburban Decay”- he did record it and says he has something in his back pocket, sort of intimating that it would sound really good on a soundtrack.
I don’t want this to be misconstrued as any sort of rumor- there was nothing definite stated except he gave us one piece of lyric “With our bloodlust sated, we thrive on suburban decay”.
Great interviews by the way- he talks about “VooDoo”, too.

  • hoosiermama

I watched both performances of Adam’s yesterday and really enjoyed them!! Liked WYWFM, the band, Adam’s performance–all great. Didn’t like Music Again so much, though, the performance was certainly way better than what he did on the AMA’s. I agree with whoever said upthread that when Adam acts fierce that he comes across as trying too hard and not sexy. But these performances yesterday were very appealing to this (mostly) Kris fan!!

  • conchcast

What an incredible comeback to the AMAs. I know that this song was recorded months ago. The conspiracy theorist in me says… “What if this was all a part of the plan.” He sounds fantastic. No pitch problems and looks like very little nerves.

  • DLee

I almost wanted to do some cover flippin in Walmart-I stood in a long line and was kinda self conscious holding those two CD’s. And I actually like the cover! It just didn’t fit in with my checkout line demographic-and if you spend a lot of time at Walmart, you will know what I mean.

I was in Target and standing near the new release section and this woman said to her husband “Oh, there’s Adam’s CD.” I couldn’t stop myself and piped in, I told her how great it was. She said “Really? He’s kind of scary though.” I said “He just sings on the CD, he doesn’t jump through the speakers and grab you or anything.” She just laughed. She stood there with it in her hand looking at if for a long time and then out of the corner of my eye, I saw her put it back.

  • JazzRocks

I loved his performances on Letterman and on The Early Show. I think the argument that CBS didn’t trust him to do a family friendly performance isn’t worth a hill of beans. He’s done these morning appearances before.

I know I’m in the minority, but I enjoyed the AMA performance. When I go back & re-watch I can be more critical about the vocals and the OTT-ness. But in the moment I loved it. And all the hoopla is not coming from Adam. He got carried away while performing and is now caught up in the Aftermath. NPI.

  • colette

Adam is starting to win me over with the Letterman gig, which he did perform beautifully — and with a song that was well-arranged and a nice mix of ballad and rock-out.

I know it’s fuddy-duddy of me or something, but when the guy just SINGS without torching his vocal chords or doing the heavy leather/S & M theatrics I like him better — not because of any morality issue, but because I find the kitschy theatrics can distract from and overshadow the music.

I work at a bank with a lot of conservative types, but yesterday afternoon, several of those “conservatives” came to my office and told me how much they like Adam and are now planning on buying the album. They thought he was an exciting performer and has an awesome voice. I’ve always been a proud Adam fan, but yesterday was the cherry on top for me. Who da thunk my bank president had a love of rock and roll underneath that 3 piece suit.

  • Daniel B

Not a fan, but this was a good performance and is easily the best of the songs I’ve heard from him so far (not saying too much as FYE is horrendous and Time for Miracles is ‘just ok’).

Quite a comeback from the stumble at the AMAs, and if they are smart they will switch to this as the next single quickly and let FYE die.

Just my opinion though. But pretty good performance and not a bad song at all.

  • http://legan0.tripod.com mama2dasha

I had to work yesterday, but planned to sneak off somewhere and find a TV to watch Adam on the Early Show. But my coworkers, not real Adam fans (but all had watched the AMA’s) paged me at 8am-they wanted me to come to the department and watch Adam with them on the TV in our department (a cardiac rehab exercise room). So we all watched it together, along with some of our patients. And they all liked it,,A LOT. My coworker has 2 girls ages 10 and 6. She plans on buying WWFM to put on their ipods.

‘America has only seen a tip of the iceberg of Adam Lambert’ .

Yep that old iceberg is huge and what was on AI was just the tip. I for one loved the glimpse we got below the water line, and of course like all icebergs what is above the water is very beautiful too…

Nice performance. Will be interested to see what he will do on Letterman in a few years when it doesn’t follow the “performance that stopped the world” – I think it might dip back below the waterline a bit more.

  • Truthiness

Yeah, they had already started the plan to have WWFM as the new single before the AMAs and were already planning on it being what he sang on shows he’s singing on or visiting.

Plus I think it’s earwormy as hell.

And yeah, good performance. And cute outfit/hair.

  • karenw

oo he sounded and looked fab .. just showed my dad the youtube of it (we’re in the UK so didn’t see it live) . he’s in his 70′s and he commented on how great the whole band looked together .. I always knew I had a cool dad :-)

I was lucky enough to be at the Letterman taping…

@midwifespal – sux to be me… can i be u for a day, the next time adam comes to town, pls?

@jammasta – so true… adam’s band is straight outa central casting!
reminds me of an ’80s new-wave band, every single band member is fashionable & polished in an edgy way and oh so ready for video. they look and sound awesome.

Two great performances of WWFM. What a great way to start and end the day! He sings it beautifully and performs it passionately.

OTOH, for me, WWFM sounds like SUCH a Pink song that hearing Adam sing it just makes me YEARN to hear Pink sing it instead. Adam does sound more like he’s covering the heck out of a Pink song (like back on AI and all the wonderful covers he did) rather than singing an original tune off his new album. Pink really needs to be singing this song instead – it has her signature lyrical style and musicality written all over it – her vocal styling could deliver this song with such meaning & intensity – it’d be a huge hit for her.

I feel the same way about Soaked & Music Again WRT Muse & The Darkness. OTOH Sleepwalker & Fever don’t feel as co-opted – these are diff enuf from what Tedder & Gaga usually put out that it feels like Adam owns those. Same with Allison’s Pink song – diff enuf, doesn’t feel borrowed/loaned.

Causing serious bodily harm (& risking your gfs life & health) in a heterosexual relationship is more acceptable than simulating homosexual foreplay as part of a public musical performance? Plus they want CB back to sing! This is just wrong on so many levels that it’s shocking… :O

This doesn’t surprise me a bit. They think they will get big ratings. Sorry, but I won’t watch this, because they dumped Adam for inappropriate behavior and then announce they are interviewing convicted felon Chris Brown. So hard to keep up with all the Adam news this week, but just had to say that I loved loved loved this performance on Letterman!! He sounded amazing, and clearly showed here what a different league he’s in compared to most other musicians as both a vocalist and performer. I loved it!

And the hair was looking beautiful! Lol. Oh, and that ring is INSANE :-)

I love WWFM, and also think his performance on Letterman was the best. Wish that he had done this on the AMAS, it would have showed how amazing his vocals are. Though it is true that he is been in the press so much people will see him, possibly more because of the controversy.
