Cute videos from the Los Angeles Times of Adam Lambert and Kris Allen interviewing each other. Kris asks Adam about his outfits, and Adam asks Kris if Katy will be joining him on tour. Kris says, “Yes, to see YOU.” (Adam and Katy will do their nails together!)

Videos after the JUMP…

Kris Interviews Adam

Adam Interviews Kris:

  • selena

Just logged of to this site and what a treat. These two are the cutest couple ever……

  • drea

It has got to be unhealthy, how much joy I get out of seeing those two.

There are also Kris/Allison and Matt/Anoop videos by the same user/channel – losangelestimes.

  • sallyas1

    Way cute!

  • shawnspencer

I could watch these two all day! They are too cute together, someone get them their own show!

  • babybelle32

They are just too cute. And is it just me, or is Kris making his sexy face to the camera? Maybe it’s just something that he just can’t help doing, since he’s so adorable.

  • Sunshinegirl

edit: and it’s got it’s very own thread, so you can discuss it there

  • girlygirl

Awww…Kradam at their most adorably goofy! I love it..and them. I wish these “interviews” were way longer! More, I need more…

  • cookcricket

What? That’s all we get! So cute!!!:)

ETA: Off to watch Kris and Allison!!

  • suebrody

God, I love Kradam! I love everything about these interviews particularly when Adam talks about his jackets with the accoutrement(s) and Kris doesn’t know what that is and Adam says he probably said it wrong.

    Oh, my favorite moment:

Kris to Adam: Everyone has been wondering…what you’ll be wearing. What could he have possibly been referring to? LOL

In the other interview, Adam asks if Katy will be coming to some of the performances and Kris says yes…to see you and they go on to discuss manicures and spa treatments. Kris says Katy will be paying for them, and Adam says that’s b/c he was runner-up.

These two need to host a variety show. :)

  • lilbrusc102

A-freaking-dorable!!! Kradam FTW! :) This seriously made my day…

  • lizardino

These two are hilarious — I love when Adam asks what Kris is wearing on tour and Kris replies that he doesn’t know yet. Adam’s answer: “Surprise, surprise.” Then Kris asks if Adam will help him find his tour outfit….Kradam shopping!

All of these videos are good, but you can see why Adam, Kris and Allison get along so well — they are just goofy together.

  • RubySlippers

    Yay Kradam!

    I love them. Thanks.

  • xuziqueue

I love the hunky picture of Adam that mj ran at the top of this link. Thanks for that!

  • Elaine

I agree with them having a variety show. They are so funny and entertaining. So glad they are relaxed and having a good time. I want more kradam,

  • AC

I thought it was hilarious how Adam got sick of the water bottle so Kris threw it on the floor. hehe..

I can’t wait to see their outfits!

  • lizardino

I would love to be a fly on wall while Adam and Katy are doing nails and spa treatments! That conversation would be priceless.

  • lilbrusc102

ok, after several viewings I think my favorite part is the beginning when they’re discussing Kris’s reporter voice…so much goofiness, I love it!

  • Calliope

    Oh Kradam.

The Katy bit cracks me up though, as well as Adam helping Kris find an outfit.

  • BestAI

I think I’m the only one catching Adam’s imitation of Gene Simmons. Even Kris didn’t get it.

  • Tess

It’s summer and Adam in wearing a wool cap (or maybe its summer cotton). Must be having a bad hair day! By the way, how does the cap stay on pushed back like that….one shake of my head and the hat would be history…maybe it just sticks to all the hair gel.

I just love it when people are confidant enough to “make” silly. I loved the water bottle mike…reminds me of playing rock star when I was a kid….but I think it was one of the beaters from the mixer (and Mom always had to order a new one ’cause I always lost it).

  • elw

Can’t stop watching anything and everything that Adam is in!!!!! He and Kris are adorable here.

  • BeckyMD

I love the part when Kris said he would also pay for Adam’s spa treatment and Adam joked about that’s why it was good to be a runner up. :) )

  • clearone

I just can’t get enough of Kradam! They are priceless.

Kris is going to be stylin’ this tour!!

It’s so cool how both Kris and Katy have become friends with Adam. C’mon Kris, you could go to the spa too!

  • Pam

Love Kris’ interviewer voice! Hee Just too funny! :D

  • twinkle

BestAI, please explain the simmons bit… i dont get it :blush_tb:

  • IdolThoughts

I love the banter. Does Adam say, “Are you humoring me?” at the end of the vid? His expression is so cute. Love Kris’ goofy side. They complement each other so well. Cool friends.

  • Natasha

You can tell they’re good friends because they seem so cool with each other. They have a very good vibe together. Lmao at Adam and Katy doing each other’s nails.

  • Ellie2

Does Adam say, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Are you humoring me?à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ at the end of the vid?

Yes, that’s what he said. They crack me up. Too cute.

  • girlygirl

Kris is wearing Allison’s hair clip as he interviews her!

    Allison: “I suck at interviews”

Kris: “You do suck. You’ve sucked from the very beginning…”

    LOL

  • FanGirlIdol

Adam answers as if it was real interview while Kris just goofs off during his interview. LOL. Sweetie doesn’t know when to turn it off!

  • CathyMK

    Very cute.

I just hope they don’t make Kris wear lace-up pirate pants. :tongue_rolleye_ee:

  • http://www.irish-wolfhounds.com Buderschnookie

By the way, how does the cap stay on pushed back like thatà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦.one shake of my head and the hat would be historyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦maybe it just sticks to all the hair gel.

The black band is much wider than it appears.

    Loved Adam’s “um…uh” at o:47!!

  • ravengirl

Tess, I noticed that Adam wears that cap on several of his Idol Confessions videos. I’m guessing it’s what he tosses on when he doesn’t want to hassle with all the product he uses to create his follicular masterpieces. I also notice that Zac Efron, who also has some damn nice hair, wears a similar cap these days.
How it is not stifling hot under there I’ll never know … but would love to find out :rolleyes_tb:

  • babybelle32

I like Adam, but please don’t shop for Kris. I like Kris’ style. Unless Adam is going to get him some tighter shirts, he can just leave him alone.

Adam answers as if it was real interview while Kris just goofs off during his interview. LOL. Sweetie doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t know when to turn it off!

They are both joking around. The mock serious and playfull tones are what makes it so funny.

  • suebrody

It can’t be healthy to have watched each of these several times, but…too bad. I hope there is a bit of banter during the Tour. And that they do cameos on each others’ tours (or at least a video?).

It IS funny how Adam is “serious” in his interview and Kris just gets giggly in his. Adam will have to be Kris’s “interview” handler. ;)

  • CCAdamFan

Don’t ya just wanna hang out with them? We were very fortunate to have Kradam for the finals.

  • clearone

Oooooo…..Adam is wearing blue again!!!! Swoon……he needs to wear more blue!!!

  • LaTasha

    ^Or just handler, that’ll work too. ;)

  • weareallinnocent

    Too cute. What fun!

Off to Allison’s thread to say I think she’s friggin’ hilarious~

  • twinkle

i also love how adam gives more “real” answers and does his usual chatty cathy bit. kris kept giving him the “are you done?” face and moving the “microphone” back and forth because, no… adam was NOT done talking. duh.

    follicular masterpieces.

    :thumbup_tb: ravengirl!

(btw… im usually too distracted by adam, but DANG do kris’s arms look bigger?)

  • JAG

Oh,I wish the interviews were longer, just can’t get enough of these two ! Too cute !!

  • PattyH

Ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s summer and Adam in wearing a wool cap (or maybe its summer cotton). Must be having a bad hair day!

Maybe it helps get him a little bit of incognito time when he’s out and about?

  • Duke

im sorry, but kris is dull. ill still never understand how he won…well i understand how he won, but ya…

  • Squirrely

*****Tess, I noticed that Adam wears that cap on several of his Idol Confessions videos. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m guessing ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s what he tosses on when he doesnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want to hassle with all the product he uses to create his follicular masterpieces. How it is not stifling hot under there Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll never know à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ but would love to find out :rolleyes_tb:

I first noticed that style with Ace, he wore it a lot during his season.

  • BestAI

BestAI, please explain the simmons bità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ i dont get it

Gene Simmons says “Wonderful,” a lot, and he said that to Adam. You’ll have to find Simmons talking, because Adam sounds just like him when he responds to Kris about the tour, and says, “Wonderful”.

  • girlygirl

Too bad you don’t see it, Duke. Kris is anything but dull. Adam and Allison both seem to know that…

  • julieitis

The whole Katy-Adam-spa thing cracks me up everytime. Thanks, MJ!

  • Mtlfan

    they are very cool!!

  • unique28v

Adam and Katy must show their nails when they are done! lol A picture is a must. :)

  • linsav

Just too frakking cute! This crumbled my last excuse, after watching these videos I bought my ticket to the L.A. tour stop. Never been to a concert by myself but am definitely going to enjoy it!

  • LovelyLady

My love of Kradam just grew 100 times. Which seems impossible. Kradam is pure joy….love. Joy. Love. Thanks mj!!

  • PattyH

Yay! You will not be sorry, linsav!

  • Mom in the Suburbs

Dear holy jeebus, these two are so adorable together, I’m overwhelmed. Their genuine affection for each other is so touching. The Katy-is-coming-to-hang-with-you said to Adam just kills me, like Katy and Adam are best “girlfriends” or something! Awww, I want to get a pedicure with Adam. :wub_tb:

  • 77amy77

These videos are too adorable. I could watch Kris and Adam interview each other all day – and I probably will.

This also proves how stupid TPTB were not giving us more behind-the-scenes stuff, or real interviews during the show. Kris, Adam, Allison, Anoop and Matt are all hilarious but we never really got a chance to see much of that. At least we’re getting some now…

  • unique28v

    delete

  • Mom in the Suburbs

If you watch the first Anoop interviews Matt clip on that page, someone is singing in the background in the last roughly 35 seconds (Don’t Stop Believing snippet). Is that ADAM singing? I could just have Adam on the brain, but I could swear it’s his voice rising above Anoop and Matt.

  • isisdagmar

I want these interviews to be longer–it’s almost embarrassing how much I enjoy watching Adam and Kris interact, or Adam or Kris and Allison, or all three of them together. Such funny people, and it’s lovely how much they clearly like each other.

  • agathe.hb

Mom in the Suburbs, you have just beaten me to it !!! That’s definitely his voice, who else could sing like that?

  • suebrody

I’m going by myself, too, linsav. Too bad we are on opposite sides of the country (LA, Boston). But I am sure there will be major blogging going on…and we can make lots of new Idol friends!

I hope Kris goes with Katy and Adam for their girls (ha) day out. I think they ALL need new manicures (one nail was *not* enough, Kris) and spa treatments. And I did just notice how Kris kept moving the bottle around, but Adam was *not* done talking. Surprise surprise. ;)

This tour has GO TO START ALREADY. Must see footage of Kradam (and Kradison) EVERY SINGLE DAY. :)

  • vanjess38

Duke, Duke, Duke, hmmmmm, you are the only one on this thread who says Kris is dull. I’m rolling my eyes now.Kris and all the others were very funny in those videos and everyone on this thread acknowledges that.Though we are all entitled to our opinion, I dare to tell you you are wrong on this one. Pls watch the videos again

  • hollygo9

Tess, I noticed that Adam wears that cap on several of his Idol

It’s the shaggy-haired guy equivalent of a ponytail.

  • Mom in the Suburbs

agathe.he Ravengirl just verified on the other thread it is Adam! No wonder I kept watching that clip over and over again, lol. Dear god does his voice sound so beautiful and pure…Thank goodness I already have my ticket for ATL already.

I can’t wait now that I’ve actually broken down and bought the ticket, 7/16 seems like waaaay too far away now!

Thanks PattyH – I am so stoked now!

Can you imagine what it would be like to hang out with these guys (Allison and Katy too)? My stomach would be sore from non-stop laughing.

Can’t wait for daily updates from the tour.

  • Susan M.

Am I losing it, or is Adam wearing a football helmet belt buckle? I’m at work, so I had to squish my screen to watch it without drawing attention. These are beyond adorable.

  • saga

They make a very good paring, something in their personalities blend very well. Would be hilarious to watch a SNL episode with them, no?

  • EveLambert

Adam asked Kris what he and Katy are doing on the tour, is she coming along etc., I wonder what he is doing on the tour, is Drake or mom coming along? It must be pretty awkward now that he has revealed quite a bit after the show to now be cooped up in a bus with everyone, that could be a step down for poor Adam, he probably should have waited until after the tour and reveal everything – but the media and pressure was too intense and he probably felt obligated to clear up certain things ASAP – which I think was the right thing to do and if you are going to be a fan, be one regardless – His singing caught my interest and I know that is what will keep me a fan forever.

  • hwc

    Duke:

im sorry, but kris is dull. ill still never understand how he wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦well i understand how he won, but yaà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

Dull as dishwater. I understand how he won. Every week, he consolidated more of the “anybody but that gay guy” vote from Anoop’s fans, and Matt’s fans, and Allison’s fans, and Gorkey’s fans. His dullness was perfect for the “anybody but the gay guy” finalist. It was an inevitable result. By the finale, over half the vote was “anybody but the gay guy”. Lil Rounds would have beaten Adam if she’d made it to the finals.

All you have to do is go back and look at the very first question asked in the press conference just minutes after the vote was announced:

“Adam, now that the show is over, would you like to announce your sexual preference?”

  • linsav

Adam will be happy on the bus with Kris there to laugh and talk with. He will be working on his music most of the time anyway. He and Kris (probably Allison too) will be very busy with recording when not sleeping and on stage.

  • pleazurs

the KRis guy is ok, but I would LOVE to see a whole concert with just ADAM. It would be electrifying! They probably will all have fun on tour, only because Adam and his fans will be there!

  • ravengirl

Not sure I follow, EveLambert. Why would things be awkward now just because Adam revealed quite a bit — revealed what? The gay thing? The Kris is cute thing? Both don’t seem to matter much to at least most of the Idols (we’ll say nothing about Gokey or Sarver right now).
And why is this a step down? I’m guessing that since Adam has been a struggling artist most of his adult life that he is used to doing whatever he has to to perform.
And I don’t know why Drake or mom would be coming “along.” It’s not like Adam is underage like Allison (whose mother and/or sister are reportedly coming along as required to be chaperones).
I would suspect that Drake might show up at a concert near his city, but probably not feel the need to be a groupie. They’re not exclusive, from my understanding, not married or anything like that. I would imagine that Adam will be too busy or too tired to be doing much palling around post shows.

Susan M., I would also like to know about Adam’s belt buckle. I am also at work, so while I can listen over and over to these videos, I have to hide them on my screen under another open window (shhhh!).

  • Ellie2

Am I losing it, or is Adam wearing a football helmet belt buckle?

Susan, I’m pretty sure it’s the skull belt buckle he wore during Rock Week.

ETA: And yes, it’s just f’n sad that I know that.

  • twinkle

ok the kris vs. adam crap being talked about for the eleventymillionth time is a total buzzkill.

im a huge adam fan but i would like for it to stop being an “us vs. SOMETHING” all. the. time. someday? maybe?

adam is peaceful and happy and all about love and laughing it off. AND he is getting to do what he has always wanted. can’t we just kick back and enjoy a little kradam video?

  • hollygo9

ill still never understand how he wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

He won the same way everyone else won. He got more votes.

  • http://myspace.com/susanatfox sumidol

They are both just toooo cute.

“”Susan M., I would also like to know about Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s belt buckle. I am also at work, so while I can listen over and over to these videos, I have to hide them on my screen under another open window (shhhh!).”"

OH- I am TELLIN on YOU! no never, I do the same thing – these guys get me through the day sometimes

  • BestAI

Can we quote someone in the biz w/o giving them credit — or should I just reword it?

  • PhDude

    This clip was sooo great!

  • flicker

    Deleted.

  • Susan M.

Did you guys see that richardrushfield commented on the Matt/Anoop thread? Has he ever done that before?

  • brin

Love those two together, the amount of fun they have just being together is infectious when they are just goofing off with each other.

EveLambert, far as I can tell Adam never hid anything about his sexuality behind the scenes during the show, he just chose not to talk about it publicly so I don’t see how that would change anything about their dynamics, it is clear that he is closer to some than others but hopefully they all at least get along well enough to work together for a couple of months.

I hope we get some backstage tour videos, if they are anything like these they would be tons of fun.

  • Susan M.

@Ellie2, I can see it on the still from the second video. It looks like glare at first. I though a football belt buckle and Adam … hmmm, certainly wouldn’t put it past him. I thought he might have been playing to the irony.

  • Ben

the KRis guy is ok, but I would LOVE to see a whole concert with just ADAM. It would be electrifying! They probably will all have fun on tour, only because Adam and his fans will be there!

so dont go to the AI tour. Wait until Adam has his own concert. This tour is about 10 people, not just Adam.

  • lola

My smile just won’t go away. I thought I won’t be seeing any Adam today. Love Kris too.

  • CindyM

Kris won because he got the most votes, is very talented and appeals to a wider audience than Adam. Those are my thoughts and pretty much echo what Adam has said whenever asked the same question. I am a passionately devoted fan of the glittered one, and I can admit Kris won fairly. The more I see of Kris, the more I like him and can appreciate his talent. I’m going to the concert on July 20th and while I can’t wait to see Adam, I’m excited to see Kris and Allison too! The competition is over, and as far as I’m concerned, these guys both win at life!

  • BestAI

I just have to post this. Someone, not a celebrity himself, but someone who is prominant and well-respected in the industry said that Adam is regarded as a sky-high superstar right now. So he is a hot, hot, commodity, and has a really great future because he is cool, hip, and a trendsetter.

  • weareallinnocent

Yeah, Kris won by getting the most votes on finale night. Whatever. They both have contracts and are getting lots of press and buzz. I can’t wait for albums (and the tour, but I’m more excited about their new music!!)

That said, I do have one amendment, just for myself and my hopes and dreams for my glitter guy:

Kris won because he got the most votes, is very talented and appeals to a wider voting audience than Adam.

There, I feel better. Whew! :-)

(Seriously, not trying to provoke, just spilling my heart’s hopes for Adam’s broad success. Who knows. We won’t know for a number of years, I suspect — and I expect them to both be successful and performing for a long time.)

  • david90531

edit: your lecturing has earned you a spot in moderation. Congratulations!

  • isisdagmar

Rehashing things for the billionth time is pointless and it takes away from the enjoyment of Adam and Kris as individual artists and as friends. I am also, as CindyM delightfully put it, “a passionately devoted fan of the glittered one” and I think that Kris won fairly, and I am so excited to see Adam, Kris, and Allison in concert (never been to one of these AI things before!).

BestAI: that sounds awesome. Can you give us a few more details on that, or was it privileged information?

Is anyone else still really hoping that Slezak will do a Kradison idolatry interview?

  • al2009atw

edit: NO LECTURING OR FINGER WAGGING

  • HotHotHot

It’s clear that Adam and Kris are great friends. It’s lovely to see.

There is another industry exec who has been following Adam’s career since he appeared on Idol. He has a website dedicated to Adam, alone, with a lot of insight to the industry, and how it relates to Adam. He had a guest with Q&A on his website.

@weareallinnocent, ITA. I’m a devoted Adam fan, but love Kris as well. I kind of knew it that night, but I’m convinced even more now that everything worked out almost poetically. Adam hasn’t suffered one iota for being the runner up, God knows he has the press, the talent surrounding him and the notoriety (and thanks for that snippet BestAI!).

It might have been more of an uphill climb for Kris had he not won. And Allison getting a contract so quickly too? AWESOME! Yes, all is bliss in the Kradison world. Tour launches a week from Sunday? Can’t wait!!

  • AC

omg, how did the kradam love turn into a fight? I’m just going to keep replaying the clips over and over to make me happy!

they both look so cute in this video (haha.. the superficial part of me is coming out) does anyone notice how Kris’s pants keeps seeming to get tighter and tighter? I think adam really is picking out his clothes. haha

  • Sunn

Great clips. Cheered me up to no end. What a nice surprise. (Huge Cheshire cat grin)

  • Kradamfan

MJ, thanks for posting this and so many other fun, heart-warming and interesting videos for us. When I come home from work and chill out to MJS BigBlog, my day gets so much better.
I don’t know how you keep up with all the Idol goings on, even on weekends. Or how you put up with our bratty behavior on bad days. Just want you to know, from me, your work on this blog is so appreciated!
/raises a cool one to MJ

  • Susan M.

BestAI, I can’t open that link (may be filters, will try later). Wasn’t the guy who had the “Adam from an industry perspective” thread on Adam’s AI boards during the season (haven’t been there much since the season ended) named something like NYMichael or MichaelNYC? He was great and had a profound insider perspective, as I remember.

  • BestAI

BestAI, I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t open that link (may be filters, will try later). You’re exactly right. I followed him religiously. After the season, he started his own website but doesn’t post that frequently now. There were many intelligent posters on that thread — the same fans from the rest of Adam’s forum, but no silly stuff. It certainly gave us hope for Adam’s bright international future.

  • hollygo9

I love Kris Allen. I’m pretty sure that he sprang forth from Zeus’s forehead and then slide down my rainbow into my cellar door and we’ll be jolly friends, forever more.
    KrisAllenisLove

  • LaurelG

I’m so happy to see the Kradam friendship is as strong as ever. It warms my heart. They are both going to have a blast on this tour. Adam seems soooo excited to be performing live (he’s mentioned that in a couple of interviews).

More tour backstage videos, please ….

  • catzmadam

To Susan M. and ravengirl – the belt buckle that Adam is wearing was sent to him ages ago by a fan who posts regularly on the American Idol forums (Adams folder of course) and goes by the avatar of bowchickawowow.
I can remember reading discussions about the buckle when he first wore it and how excited everyone was that he was wearing a “fan” gift.
I was just over there on a thread about the above new videos and she and some others recognised that he was wearing it again – so are really thrilled.

Also to Susan M. – yeah the “Adam Lambert’s Star Power from an Industry Perspective” was/is a huge and really interesting thread on AI boards. So much so, that nymichael (after the season closed, and by popular demand) started up a website to continue the discussions – here is the link…. http://www.nymichael.com/board/viewforum

Loving the videos – but just wants more! *pouts*

  • Susan M.

BestAI, got that link to work (after copying without the “website” at the beginning). Yes, that is the same guy and many of the posters were AI Adam regs. I read many of Tom O’Neil’s LA Times blogs during the season, as I recall he wasn’t so pro-Adam as he appears here. Great to hear for the most part.

I do, however, take exception that Adam isn’t the leading man type because he’s gay. They guy comes right out and says Kris won “because more people wanted to pork him.” (Colorful!). Um, don’t know if this is another case of a straight man just not getting our straight woman fascination of Adam, or if he happens to be gay, he’s still not getting it. Whatevs, Tom O’Neill! I agree with a lot of what he said (although he said Adam needs to be far more elusive with interviews à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ noooooo!). For Adam’s career, perhaps, for my own selfish needs, please no!

Adam’s brother is pretty funny too as many of you know. Check out his newest blog post: http://negativeneil.com/

These two are great and I’m glad I’ve got tickets for the tour, Boston, August 18th! Stoked!

These guys are a great example. They don’t take themselves overly seriously (see video). I think that’s the example. Sure they can be serious when they need to be, but they know when to relax and enjoy being together and enjoy life. They both love to laugh.

So tired of the idea that the homophobes voted for Kris. My God, I think everyone saw that he had his nail painted in solidarity with Adam. Everyone saw them hug each other and high five each other all the time. If you’re homophobic, you wouldn’t vote for the guy who loves the gay guy, any more than you’d vote for the gay guy.

  • AC

I’m going to 2! Oakland and San Jose! and it’s on Saturday and Sunday so that I don’t have to call off for work? woohoo!

Adam and Katy can do Kris’s nails together! hehe

Kris an Adam are riduculously fun together. I loved these interviews. They’re both funny guys and seem to gel really well.

Loved annoucer voice thing, the water bottle bit, accoutrements, the spa thing, and “are you humoring me?”

Oh and this one Adam fantard who totally digs Kris and thinks he’s really high-larious in these videos, and the ones with Allison. I don’t think Kris is dull in these at all. Quite the opposite.

  • suebrody

Ross! Another Bostonian in the house!!!

    Must read article.

BTW, Richard Rushfield posts on Twitter. He said he is with Idols. I asked if he would say hi to Kradison for me. He said individually or together. I said please say hi to Adam, Kris, and Allison individually from Sue in Boston (it was worth trying ;-0).

I am going to watch these videos again several times. I also watched the Billboard video with Kris. Adam and Allison’s are to come.

Edit: NO LECTURING. Stick to the subject. It’s not other posters and how they are behaving in this thread

So “Don’t Stop Believing” is the finale song for the tour. I hope Adam gets to sing more of it than he did on the show. And I had to LOL about Adam talking to the vocal coach when they got done while everyone else was goofing around. Such a perfectionist.

  • ruskimom

It sounds like the finale is “Hey Jude/DSB,” based on the LA times article.

On wikipedia, it says Sam Sparro was nominated for a Grammy for best dance recording for “his hit “Black and Gold” (which I don’t think I know)…looks like he’s a dance/electronic pop style guy…pretty young…just 26

From Adam on Twitter, about a half hour ago:

therealglambert: On my way to songwriting session w the brilliant Sam Sparro!!

Well, now. He is working with OneRed, Sparrow, Ferras, and others. Hoo boy. Let’s see a track SOON, Iconic!Adam.

Press all day. *thud* The masses are in a tizzy. Yes, we *are* greedy.

And I agree: an Idolatry with Kradason = heaven.

Adam, Kris, Allison: The Idol Trifecta.

Just listened to Black and Gold by Sam Sparrow: It has a real techno vibe. I’m very excited. Dance, little sister, dance. :)

  • girlygirl

    Suebrody:

Have you tweeted Michael Slezak about a possible Kradison Idolatry? The tour will be in the NYC area for a few days in August — maybe they could do it then? (I don’t have twitter, or I’d ask him myself)

  • lilbrusc102

AH! I love “Black & Gold!” Adam’s definitely working w/ some cool people!

Anyway, add me to the list of people that want a Kradison interview, preferably with Slezak, but just the 3 of them talking and goofing off would be amazing as well. Actually, that might be even better…

I had never heard of Sam Sparro but I floved that song! And that video has had over 9 million views. How have I not heard of him. Is he British?

  • BestAI

I wonder if Adam requested him. In several of Adam’s interviews, the writers said Adam was really really, really knowledgeable about music and artists. The writers had not heard of many that he mentioned, but they said Adam seemed to know what he was talking about.

I bet he is a record producers’ dream because he is so knowledgeable and knows what he wants. I think Kris is pretty knowledgeable too; probably another reason they get along so well.

Ya know, I don’t think there’s any law that requires fans to like, or even care about, the winner of American Idol. Personally, I think the constant linking of Adam and the guy who won, as if they are some kind of best friends forever in unnecessary, and takes away from what should be the winner’s glory. I don’t really care if they like each other or not. That’s their business and has no impact on the appreciation (if any) of their music. I don’t understand looking at American Idol like some kind of Friends sitcom.

Hwc, got it, that’s your opinion. But for a first time Idol fanatic (watched it casually every season, never got the fascination), the emotional investment you experience the first time, is HUGE. Obviously, we DO care about them. That’s what brings us to this blog repeatedly a month after the show ended. I love the linking of Adam and Kris (aka “the guy who won”) it is the best story there is to tell about this season, next to “the great undiscovered talent of our generation was finally discovered.”

Anyway, about Sam Sparro à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ Wow! I’m impressed!! He’s got a great, diverse sound à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ can do falsetto, dance, edgy vibe … seems incredibly gutsy and talented (reminds me of who?). And the person who directed the “Black and Gold” video? Bookmark him (or her)!!! That was HOT. The heartbreaker is, Sparro isn’t particularly telegenic, therefore they kept him in shadow, which is sad, but worked for the video.

Adam, on the other hand, who is the DEFINITION of telegenic, will pop blood vessels all over the world if this video director is allowed to have his way with our Glittery Alien. *licks chops* Have at it, geniuses!!

  • PattyH

Sam Sparro sounds exactly like the way Adam described how he wanted his music to be, techno with the focus on the vocal; and lyrics with a message. Here’s the MySpace for Sam Sparro. I really like “21st Century Life.”

I don’t see it as much of a story. Maybe on par with two teammates on the same NFL team or two professional golfers being friendly. It’s just kind of normal for people who work together closely for months to become friendly. It would be weird if they weren’t friendly.

I actually attribute much of the story to guilt or rationalization or some kind similar emotion to ease having to think about the outcome. Idol always tries to make it seem like one big happy family holding hands and singing kumbaya. The “we are both winners” theme dates back to season one, where the first and second place finishers made a movie togther where they were supposed to be “in love”, notwithstanding the strong possibilty that the leading man was gay.

Idol tried to make it seem like Taylor and that McPhee girl were best friends, too.

Don’t get me wrong. It’s fine if Adam and the guy who won are friends. It’s fine if they are not. It just isn’t a big deal either way. I’m far more interested in what Adam is working on for his album.

That’s just me. I’d never tell another Idol fan what they shoud think. I kind of got the sense from some of the responses that it was somehow unacceptable to not be all into this BFF thing or to believe that the “anybody but that gay guy” vote wasn’t a big factor in the outcome.

  • al2009atw

Adam said himself what ties the album together is he is singing. The problem with most albums that have one genre is the songs sound so similar. At least with Adam’s, he is going to mix it up. He wants a little something for everyone (his fans, that is), including his international fans. I can hardly wait. I hope the album comes out before November. That was Kris’ target date. Adam just said Fall.

  • hwc

    mj:

McPhee had the same “we are both winners” script throughout the weeks of the media tour. It seems pretty obvious that the Idol PR flaks coach the contestants on that script.

I agree with you that McPhee and Taylor probably didn’t much care for each other (although I don’t really have any idea or care), but the script was the same in the immediate post-show timeframe. Actually the BFF storyline that year was the Taylor/Elliott pairing, just like “the Davids” last year. Maybe it’s just a coincidence that, every year, there is a BFF plotline coming out of the season.

I don’t see any evidence that Adam is hanging out with the winner of American Idol outside of work. They were photographed having lunch while they were on the PR tour together, but since then the paparrazzi must have missed it if they have dined or gone to a club togther at night.

  • Susan M.

@hwc, I get where you’re coming from, but I did not tell you what you should think. I told you what I feel. The Kris and Adam relationship? THAT is story. If we’re taking a sports motif, great. Perfect analogy. When you watch “NFL Films,” for instance, you know that the event has one ending: someone won, someone lost. After the fact, it has little drama. But WHAT makes the mystique continue? It is the human drama that is worthy of “Real Sports” on HBO, or an hour-long feature on ESPN, and entire series, such as “The Contender.”

The outcome is a footnote; a one-note answer. The story is the meat. And the relationships formed are the validation of the whole situation. If you are truly missing that, I’m sorry.

  • snood199

You can generally tell when people are faking a friendship. McPhee and Taylor – faking it. Blake and Jordin – faking it. Fantasia and Diana – faking it. Carrie and Bo – mutual respect but not good friends.

Real life good buddies – Ruben & Clay, David & David, Kris and Adam.

snuffles, Blake’s recent backstage vlog where he encounters Jordin and his buddy (her boyfriend) Steph Jones suggests at the very least mutual respect to me. Don’t think they are BFFs, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t cool. LOL.

Never thought Taylor and Kat were friends. Don’t know about Fanty and Diana.

  • hwc

I don’t see the outcome of American Idol as a footnote. If I were a fan of the kid who won, I would be really testy if the world viewed my guy’s win as just a footnote. He got the votes; I give him props for that.

I actually view American Idol pretty much like Big Brother or Survivor. It’s a game show with winners and losers. The interestng twist is that, occasionally, one of the contestants goes on to do something in the music business. That can be fun to follow.

For me, it doesn’t matter if Seacrest and Randy are BFF and it doesn’t matter if Adam and the winner are BFF. I don’t know any of them — just the characters they played on a reality TV show, which may or may not bear any resemblence to real reality.

  • lovethecheesyshow

Katy rocks for telling Kris to tell Adam she had a crush on him when the whole “embarassing” “crush” broke out.
nothing to be embarrassed about and that was a lovely triangle, LOL!

  • isisdagmar

Also, if the album ends up containing whatever music Adam is working on with Ferras (and Alisan Porter?), that will almost certainly be a ballad. And if Ryan Tedder could write something like Come Home for Adam, or even Apologize, that would be pretty sweet.

  • iluvai

hwc: Adam and Kris are real people, not characters. They are friends and support each other. I don’t get the rest of your post.

  • Susan M.

Okay, we’ll try this again … you seem to be mistaking a “footnote” with some kind of diminishment. That is not the case. A “footnote” is actually a citing of a reference or verification of fact (or at least provable fact). To say that the winner is a “footnote” is not to take anything away from Kris. It is just something that can be substantiated. He won. That can be proven.

But moving on … going to say again, love the friendships and happily buy into every second of them!

  • iluvai

  • lizardino

Ferras has done ballads. He and Adam may do a beautiful ballad together. It helps that Adam and Ferras were buddies before Idol, too.

Also, if you go to youtube and look up Sam Sparro, you can find a cover of a song called “American Boy” that he did live at a radio station. He has a great voice–very jazzy and somewhat bluesy. You can hear some of these influences in his dance music as well.

Although this comparison may seem a bit dated, when Adam talks about his music being a variety of styles with a cohesive sound reminds me of old Elton John records–or Queen for that matter. They would have a real variety of music on a single album that might not have seemed to go together. However, it worked because all the music, while of different genres, still sounded like Elton or Queen. It might be rock, blues, jazz, rockabilly or whatever–but you always knew who it was when you heard it. I think Adam is the kind of artist who could perhaps pull off the same thing. No matter what he sings, we always know Adam’s voice. He really has a signature sound–and he knows what it is and how to market it.

Regarding the interviews between Kris and Adam–if you watch their body language together and know a little about psychology, you can tell that they really are good friends and that they know a lot about one another. Who knows what really goes on between all the idols? They are actually kept pretty protected from the press most of the time when they are together. However, after watching hours worth of interviews and interactions between Kris and Adam over the past few months, the depth of their friendship really is apparent–at least to me.

  • hwc

BTW, if you want my honest opinion (after watching all of the Adam interviews since Idol):

It looks to me like Adam’s mind is a million miles away during these silly interviews. My guess is that he is 100% focused on recording his album right now. I’m guessing that he’s mentally moved on and these Idol reunions require a bit of gear shift for him. He strikes me as the kind of guy who would throw himself hard, with laser intensity, into recording his first big-budget album.

  • LaurelG

I doubt that Adam and Kris are as big of friends as everyone is making them out to be. Not saying that theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re enemies or anything. Theyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re just two ridiculously friendly people (Kris, especially).

I disagree. In all the interviews I’ve heard, when Kris is asked about Adam, he has emphasized repeatedly what a great, great guy Adam is. It’s almost as if he underlines the word great. And Adam has been equally glowing in his comments about Kris. There is a sincerity in both of their voices that you just can’t fake.

ETA: I think the Davids have more of a big brother/little brother relationship. Imo, Kris and Adam are more friends than brothers.

  • isisdagmar

hwc: I don’t think anyone’s demanding that anyone else be delighted by or even remotely interested in the friendship between Kris and Adam, but I think that pretty much everyone agrees that it is genuine. I didn’t watch any other season except a bit of 7 before this one, but it sounds like sometimes it was pretty obvious that the top 2 didn’t love each other (the Taylor/Kat thing fooled no one), and sometimes they did like each other (the Davids seemed to genuinely have a nice relationship). Adam and Kris, based on the way they behave with each other and what they say about each other (and Allison), are either both better actors than Meryl Streep and Daniel Day-Lewis rolled into one, or they genuinely, truly, actually are good friends. That still doesn’t mean that their friendship is the only or even the most interesting thing about them–people probably wouldn’t be nearly as interested in it if Kris and Adam weren’t both talented–or that anyone has to be a fan of it who doesn’t want to be.

  • hwc

They are real people, but the only time we get to see them is when they are “performing”, i.e. giving media interviews. So we are only seeing their public “on-duty” personalities and, to some extent, canned answers.

Let’s put it this way. When the work day is over, Adam and the American Idol Winner probably don’t go to hang out at the same clubs or even the same kinds of restaurants.

I think they genuinely get along — in the same way that teammates on a football team get along even if they don’t have a lot in common or hang out after work.

Not only are you a buzzkill, you are being very disrespectful by calling Kris “the guy who won”. He has a name, you know.

And I’m sorry that it seems to bothers you so much that Adam and Kris are actually very good friends. They have both said repeatedly in all their interviews that they are friends. Adam even texted Kris before the RS issue came out to tell him about the so-called “crush” comment. And just watching them you can tell this isn’t some act for the cameras.

Once the Idol tour ends and everyone goes their separate ways, we likely won’t hear too much about Kradam. Which IMO is too bad, because I happen to love their friendship and enjoy seeing how they interact. But I also believe that the two guys will be friends the rest of their lives, whether or not the public is watching.

  • iluvai

It looks to me like Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s mind is a million miles away during these silly interviews. My guess is that he is 100% focused on recording his album right now. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m guessing that heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s mentally moved on and these Idol reunions require a bit of gear shift for him. He strikes me as the kind of guy who would throw himself hard, with laser intensity, into recording his first big-budget album.

Wow. I don’t see that at all. Adam seems to be enjoying all of it including the fun times with his friends.

  • iluvai

But I also believe that the two guys will be friends the rest of their lives, whether or not the public is watching.

I think so too. You can’t fake friendship. These guys are for real.

  • Natasha

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see any evidence that Adam is hanging out with the winner of American Idol outside of work.

Kris said in an interview that he felt like they were friends for life. He’s probably been spending some time with his wife lately since Idol kind of got in the way of their marriage for awhile.

My feeling is that they genuinely like each other and enjoy hanging out together. You can just tell and I don’t see anything fake there. I think it’s cool because technically they were competitors in a high pressure situation and they’re so different yet they’ve always been supportive of each other. If they come out of it with a lasting friendship that says a lot about both of them.

  • LeeTravers

They obviously enjoy each other’s company enormously – quite understandable considering what they’ve been through together and how much both are drenched in love of music. Would not be surprised if this friendship lasted through the years. Admire them both very much.

  • OutlandoGirl

Black and Gold video = Puttin’ on the Ritz by Taco.

Actually, I thought Black and Gold was kinda catchy. I also think Puttin’ on teh Ritz is catchy, so what do I know?

Also, I don’t know French, but I’m pretty sure Adam DID pronounce that right. He’s just being nice. Adam has quite an extensive vocabulary.

That is true as far as Adam’s recording sessions, but I seriously think he will maintain a friendship with Kris and Allison. The three of them will be very busy, so it could be few phone calls, texts… but not severing ties with them. I have a feeling he won’t be in much contact with any of the others. Yes, Adam seems to always want to take it up a notch (ending results of his AI performances), so he seems to work with much intensity. I suppose an indication of that intensity is he wasn’t satisfied with the group performance, whereas the others were ready to call it a day.

  • undercooked

I just had a chance to watch the vids. I think they are a hoot. Does it seem like Adam is good naturedly exasperated that Kris doesn’t know what he is going to wear for the tour? I really hope he takes Kris shopping. Now those would be cute vids.

Also, I do think Kris and Adam have a genuine friendship.

I also believe Jordan and Blake are friends (although they may not hang out).

Don’t know too much about Kat and Taylor.

    The Davids, yes.

Of course Kelly and Justin made that movie together. I’m sure that experience was either make or break. I can’t remember the movie, but did they actually kiss in that flick?

I gather Rueben and Clay, eh, not so close.

Fanty and Diana, I don’t know either.

  • Susan M.

@lizardio, I totally agree! The body language between Adam and Kris is a beautiful thing the likes of which I’ve never seen before. I’ve witnessed extremely close relationships between men: gay-gay, straight-straight and gay-straight, but nothing like what exists between Kris and Adam.

When you watch the Kradam videos, their defenses are non-existent. I’ve said it a zillion times before, but their intimacy, in the truest form of the word (read: non-sexual), is palpable and absolutely undeniable for any student of human behavior.

    They are darling.

Both Adam and Kris are working on their respective debut albums. Both of them have been crazy busy since Idol ended, between doing media, rehearsing for tour and working on writing/recording stuff for their own albums. They really don’t have much time for going out at night — with or without each other. I haven’t seen any paparazzi shots of Adam in days, and the only ones I’ve seen of Kris is of him and his wife coming out of a restaurant on Sunday (Kris’ birthday).

HOWEVER, Matt and Michael BOTH tweeted that Adam was at Kris’ birthday party — even though Adam had earlier that evening gone to see a friend of his perform in a play. That’s a lot of running around from place to place in the space of a few hours, and I think that shows that the friendship is genuine. If Adam didn’t give a flying fig, he wouldn’t have bothered to go to the party, he just would have hung out with his theater friends he’d gone to see earlier…

  • lisabeth7

I love how Adam described his jacket in detail….”blue metallic leather with spikes and studs and lots of accoutrements” and then when asked what he is wearing, Kris is like “I don’t know” (what I’m wearing). haha I love how they’re sooo different and yet they are both the sweetest guys and friends to each other and so wonderful together. Love you, Adam! :) Can’t wait to see you on the tour.

Exactly. Just watch them when they hug–they don’t do the straight man (a foot of distance between the bodies) hug. I have some straight male friends who are very comfortable with themselves and we have gay friends in common. I’ve seen a similar dynamic between those friends as the one between Kris and Adam. I think that Kris sees Adam as a brother/friend in the true sense of the word. It’s nice to see guys that aren’t threatened by one another, but are just “chill”.

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t see the outcome of American Idol as a footnote. If I were a fan of the kid who won, I would be really testy if the world viewed my guyà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s win as just a footnote. He got the votes; I give him props for that.

hwc: I can only give you my take on the this whole thing. I’m a huge Kris Allen fan. I didn’t vote on finale night because I really didn’t care who won. (Well, I did vote but only a couple of times tbh.) All I wanted was an album from Kris because of the artistic talent I saw all season from him. So yeah, I do kind of see his win as a footnote. My hope and I think his, is that he earns respect in the music industry to stay the course-because I believe he deserves it. I also believe he deserved the win, fwiw. However, I would have been equally fine with Adam winning and would have thought he deserved it as well.

Their friendship to me is bonus and frickin’ adorable and amazing.

So The Circle and Kiss and Tell will be on the album, We also know that Want was not written by Adam. Why the hell did they release it first hen? Why not release a great song like The Circle that was written by the artist and has the Madonna connection?

I don’t understand what’s going on with Hecker?

Have to hand it to TMZ, they do get the scoop.

I doubt it’s like TMZ got the scoop. I bet anything that Hifi leaked it to them themselves. they see the complaints that people are thinking they are lying about the cowrites so they put it out there themselves. I still think it’s full of shit though cuz even though Adam cowrote stuff, he obviously doesn’t have ownership of it or else they would not be able to release it.

I thought it was weird when Adam’s Myspace became active again, it had those songs on his player and then about a week later they went away. I didn’t understand why Kris was allowed to have his music up and Adam wasn’t.

Who’s going to buy these, most of his fans already have them downloaded already?

  • lizardino

I don’t always look at this kind of stuff, but I thought this little picture essay of Kris and Adam (with appropriate quotes), really illustrates their relationship well. It’s very sweet, and they are quoted repeatedly about their friendship. By the way, for those interested in body language, look at how they mirror one another in a lot of the photos. It’s fascinating.

I remember Lucy guessing in a post that Hi-Fi probably didn’t have the rights to all of those songs and that they released Want because that is what they can release without legal problems. MAybe this whole charade has been staged as a negotiation tactics to make Adam agree on releasing the CV stuff?

Not necessarily, Adam may have signed away his distribution rights to Pitman. He may still receive royalties for the songs but the distribution may have been out of his hands. I’m not an expert but I think it’s a possibility.

Or Adam may have signed his rights over to Pittman. This is nothing new, I mean most of the copyrights to The Beatles music is owned by Michael Jackson and so is a lot of Elvis’ music. The music business is twisted and things are done on the sly which is what happened with The Beatles. Also, Michael Jackson and Sony bought Famous Music LLC from Viacom in 2007. This deal gave him the rights to songs by Eminem, Shakira and Beck, among others.

The following quotes from Adam and Kris are proof-positive to me that they are truly the best of friends and not just pretending/acting:

“We were roommates and looking at him across the way singing the lyric à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“We are the Championsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ I felt very connected to him at that moment and it was the perfect symbolic ending to this whole journey and it really felt like it put the period at the end of the sentence.”- Adam, Rolling Stone

à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Kris and I were standing backstage before the show started tonight; we both kind of went can you believe this? This is like huge and he said to me Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m trying to make sure I remember this later. Just try to stay present. He was really supportive this whole time, and ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m glad it was him and I in the end.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ - Adam, VH1

“[Kris and I] are so seemingly different but we found a common bond, not just through music, but through talking.”- Adam, LA Times

“I love him to death” -Kris, Idol Extra

“We really hope that our relationship can be an inspiration to people. I could go on about that forever.” -Kris, EW Interview

à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Kristopher painted one fingernail, or I actually think Adam painted it for him- I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t physically imagine Kristopher painting his fingernail, but he did have one fingernail painted and Adam had one fingernail unpainted. And so it was a little of Kristopher with Adam and a little of Adam came to Arkansas with Kristopher. I thought that was really cool.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ - Mama Allen

    à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“We are Kradamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ - Kris, Yahoo Music

I just have to post this. Someone, not a celebrity himself, but someone who is prominant and well-respected in the industry said that Adam is regarded as a sky-high superstar right now. So he is a hot, hot, commodity, and has a really great future because he is cool, hip, and a trendsetter.

Not to mention he is a fairly good singer? lol :wub_tb:

I just love Kradam. There is obviously a ton of love and respect between them. Unlike with Adam’s co-writer who I think is the one who has sold him out.

  • soveryMel

Unlike with Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s co-writer who I think is the one who has sold him out.

I dunno, I think I’m going to reserve judgement on this. IIRC Monte was the one who arranged for Adam to meet Madonna, and he was SOOO excited and happy about that. That gesture would seem to indicate they’re still tight.

It’s so frustrating to only be able to spin theories while having only bits and pieces of the facts. I really wish RCA/19 would put out a more detailed statement, maybe a silver lining to the TMZ story is it might force their hand to say something.

  • HotHotHot

Maybe they only decided to use CV after the other stuff didn’t work.

  • saga

I also got the feeling Monte Pittman and Adam are still tight. I won’t be convinced they actually have the right to release those CV songs until I see them on itunes. My guess is that they release à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“On With The Showà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ as the next single, to get the most money out of this, and who knows if they’ll ever release the album after that.

  • Squirrely

Again if they have the rights to much better songs such as ‘Kiss and Tell’ and ‘Pop Goes the Camera’ why release ‘Want’ first?

  • lucy

Actually the BFF storyline that year was the Taylor/Elliott pairing, just like à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“the Davidsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ last year. Maybe ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s just a coincidence that, every year, there is a BFF plotline coming out of the season.

And I think those pairings are still pretty good friends, lol.

Seriously, when you have a lot of women observing and commenting on something, they’re going to comment on social relationships. That’s what women do! Sorry to stereotype us, but that really is a quite common female trait — we seem to be programmed that way. …

Except for some media reporters — who want to write about what their readers are interested in — I don’t see male Idol fans saying much about the friend/not-friend situations. And that’s predictable, too. … As a woman who seems to have a lot of testosterone, I feel as if I’m less invested in the BFF scenarios than a lot of other women commenters I see. But I still notice them!

  • Squirrely

*******I also got the feeling Monte Pittman and Adam are still tight. I wonà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t be convinced they actually have the right to release those CV songs until I see them on itunes. I think this was a bluff job and Hi-Fi really don’t know what to do next. 19 E’s silence must be really freaking them out.

  • Zerika

TMZ “leak” could easily be a bluff from HiFi to get Adam/RCA to say something. I don’t think they can be held (legally) responsible for it even if it turns out to be complete BS.

It’s interesting that both songs that we really know are meant to be on the album (“Want” and “On With The Show” since it’s the title track) are listed as being written by the same person (and not Adam). I bet that the other one is exactly like “Want”: a songwriter demo that Adam just sang as a session singer.

  • Squirrely

I would love to hear some of these tracks. I heard Crawl Through Fire, K&T and Pop/15 Minutes of Fame but the other titles are unfamiliar.

  • weareallinnocent

Just weighing in (briefly, I hope) on the friendship and thoughts discussed earlier here, while I was, ahem, sleeping. :-)

I believe the friendship is as genuine as it gets. And, I believe the fascination with their relationship represents a lot of things, not the least of which is an AI phenomenon, where the audience feels like they personally know contestants and they’re uniquely invested in them as well. Not to mention, that same “need to know” mindset fuels the success of the so many tabloids and human interest mags on newstands and the www today.

But, I also believe strongly that, with Adam and Kris, it goes farther because they appeared during the show to represent two factions that often are at loggerheads, and opposite ends of some very emotionally charged social issues in our society today. Yet, rather than intolerance and judgment between them, they had a truly lovely accepting relationship that defied all stereotypes. For those who believe the picture painted by their dealings represents exactly how it should be, in reality, without ideological extremism, they give us real hope for healing a very ugly, painful wound.

I don’t see this as emotional rationalization of the outcome of the show. Not at all. In fact, it’s not related to the show in any sense, other than that’s the place where we first saw it. :-)

I do get where everyone is coming from, even the cynics and/or doubters — which I tend to be more often than not. While the examples are plenty, the one that shouts “real” to me is what Kris said in the heat of the moment, at a time where conscious thought most likely totally escaped him. When he was announced the winner, lost in the shock of it all, he said, “Adam deserves this!” That wasn’t an act, nor were the words calculated. That, to me, was genuine. And, it came from a true friend.

What many factors affected the outcome will always remain unknown, as it should be. And, I agree, in the manner described upthread, the outcome is the footnote of the story, now and in the future, as both of these guys will travel well beyond this cheesy show…

    (Sorry, as usual, not brief!)

  • Squirrely

Also why is this memo dated just Tuesday and isn’t this information the Hecker should have already had.

  • weareallinnocent

Thanks to DespiteMyself and snuffles for the Sam Sparro links! I enjoyed those a lot. Very exciting to think about Adam and new music.

The TMZ revelation is turning out as I was beginning to expect, once Pittman’s name came out of Heckler’s mouth the other day. Most fans already ripped those songs (CV’s and Adam’s originals) from youtube, I suspect. So, no biggie in my book.

BTW, are they still on youtube, has anyone checked recently? Maybe I’ll do that in a few….

  • Zerika

Something else to think about re: TMZ “leak”. They had to include “Want” and “On With The Show” on the memo for obvious reasons so I find it interesting that they are the only ones not written by Adam on the track list. Coincidence? It’s one of the reasons I’m inclined to believe that the track list is fake. They could be trying to make it appear that Adam is more involved in the project than he actually is, in addition to provoking Adam/RCA/19E to make a statement. That’s what they’ve been trying to do all along, after all.

  • hwc

…at a time where conscious thought most likely totally escaped him. When he was announced the winner, lost in the shock of it all, he said, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Adam deserves this!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ That wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t an act, nor were the words calculated. That, to me, was genuine.

Of course it was genuine. It was stating the obvious. No other Idol contestant has dominated a season more (by any measure: media interest, fan message boards, water cooler buzz, etc.) Maybe Taylor Hicks, maybe Clay Aiken, maybe Kelly Clarkson. Those would be the other seasons, but only Taylor’s season is really part of the “modern-era” of American Idol and directly comparable.

I’ve never suggested that Adam and the other guy aren’t good friends. I think they genuinely get along, just like Tom Brady and Randy Moss genuinely get along from all the time they spend together with the New England Patriots. I just don’t see it as particularly relevant or suprising in any way. I don’t understand why it’s a big deal.

I think the constant combining of their two names, as if each is somehow less complete without the other, disrespects the accomplishments of both — especially the Winner of American Idol, who should be enjoying his moment in the sun. I don’t think either of them envision careers as the next Sonny and Cher duo.

This is such a beautiful thing really. It is so obvious they love and respect each other.

However, I must admit that watching the video the first time around I was uncomfortable. I was smiling big time, who wouldn’t. But there was an uneasiness about Kris . It was like Kris was uncomfortable. Or embarrassed?Giddy? Maybe I am projecting. Maybe I need some couch time, hah!

  • suebrody

I didn’t see any Kris uneasiness, except I don’t think he likes being interviewed (he has said this before–sort of reminds me of Jason Castro ;-) –and so it takes him a minute to warm up to it). They seem to be very good friends and it’s really nice to see.

  • http://kristentheyellowlab.blogspot.com/ Zsus

Kradam is an awesome friendship. I love watching those two interact. You can see by the eye contact in the “interviews” that there are a lot of private jokes between them.

Is it unusual that none of the other idols have been signed yet? And not much talk about what Alison is up to? Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m new to this, just seems odd? No?

Unless they are picked up by 19, the Idols have to wait until 3 months after the finale to sign any deals. Normally, they announce the 19 signings in order of elimination. Kris was first, Adam second. By announcing Allison, this probably means they aren’t signing Danny. Last season, they only signed the two Davids and Kristy Lee. They announced Kristy’s deal right before the tour began. I would say that, this season, the 19 deals are complete, and we’ll have to wait until mid-August to find out the fate of the other Idols.

  • Tess

Personally I like “Kradam” and “Kradison” and Adam and Kris and Allison. Three very distinct people with 3 totally different backgrounds who came together because of a “cheesy” reality show and have forged remarkable friendships.

Going all the way back to their first interview on the night of the 2nd semi-finals, these three have shown genuine like and respect for each other. Many posters commented, very early, that they could see the “body language” between these three and without a word being said they could tell how much they adored and cared for each other. As time moved forward they begain to express these thoughts verbally in interviews. IMHO none of this was faked and it became a real progression as the season moved to its conclusion.

With Adam and Kris, not only has their friendship survived the season but their families have also become close friends who have formed a real bond (evidenced in every sound bite or interview with the families).

I don’t see any of this diminishing the importance of these three great kids as individuals. They will all have careers (hopefully very successful and long lasting) and will move on very quickly from the Idol bubble and time and distance will obviously seperate them into more distinct people. But, for now, they seem to get a lot of strength and wisdom from each other, and it is always easier to travel an unknown road with friends beside you.

Late to the party here and haven’t time to read all the comments, but YOWZA, those two have AMAZING chemistry between them, don’t they? I think I need a cigarette after that, and I’ve never smoked in my life.

Loved Adam’s use of accoutrements. LMAO.

  • weareallinnocent

I hear ya, hwc. Any view on my theory that the stereotypes dispelled by Kradam, and the attendant frontpage social issues, explain to an extent why people may fixate on the apparent depth and genuineness of their friendship?

  • hwc

I think I need a cigarette after that, and Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve never smoked in my life.

Don’t do it! Count your blessings that you’ve never smoked and keep it that way, no matter what. Becoming a nicotine drug addict is not a good thing.

MJ: I hope this public service announcement from someone who took 37 years to escape the ball n’ chain of nicotine addiction doesn’t count as a violation of telling other readers what to do! It’s meant in the spirit of love!

  • holeighannie

Actually the BFF storyline that year was the Taylor/Elliott pairing, just like à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“the Davidsà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ last year. Maybe ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s just a coincidence that, every year, there is a BFF plotline coming out of the season.

And I think those pairings are still pretty good friends, lol.

Yeah, Taylor and Elliott have a duet on Taylor’s new CD, so they are obviously still close.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them being friends or interviewed together. It’s not like there aren’t 3 other pairings of Idols doing interviews on the homepage right now. Why is it such a big deal for the Top 2 to be focused on?

And it must be tiring, making sure to never refer to Kris by his actual name. KRIS ALLEN!! :D

  • BootStar

Donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t do it! Count your blessings that youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve never smoked and keep it that way, no matter what. Becoming a nicotine drug addict is not a good thing.

Don’t worry, honey! When I was 15, I watched my dad die a slow agonizing death from lung cancer. I’ve known cigarettes were bad news from a very early age. The sparks flying between Kris and Adam were all the buzz I needed to make my day.

  • unique28v

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think either of them envision careers as the next Sonny and Cher duo.

    hahaha. that cracked me up!!

    BootStar:

Sorry you had to watch your father go like that.

I always like to throw in a public service announcement on smoking because you never know who might be just on the verge of deciding to quit. I like to tell people that 46 million Americans have quit smoking and that anyone can do it if they decide enough is enough.

Now…back to our regularly scheduled programming — Adam and the guy who won American Idol.

  • hwc

…and it must be tiring, making sure to never refer to Kris by his actual name.

It’s not too bad. It’s kind of second nature by now.

I kinda feel sorry for him. In all likelihood, he’ll always be known as “that guy who won American Idol during Adam’s season…” He’s handling it with grace. It’s not his fault. He made it to the finals where winning was inevitable. If it wasn’t him, it could have been Michael Sarver winning.

Actually, it probaby would have been Gorkey, if he’s just sung another song about Jesus or his dead wife instead of trying to do the Aerosmith scream.

  • evanjane

My dad died of heart disease, perhaps attributed to smoking. I, myself, smoked for 30 years (on and off), starting at 15, along with other risky behavior, as most kids do at times. We all make choices, some bad, some good.

The key word is choice — free will.

On an entirely different level is the choice to like one Idol contestant over another, music-wise, personality-wise, et al.

I choose (along with the majority of voters as illustrated per the Idol outcome) to see it as Kris Allen and the other guy. (Although, I really don’t because I like Adam and am not that petty.)

Kirs Allen, musically, is my thing. I think he’s cool. Michael Sarver winning — I don’t think so, and Gokey had the same chance as Adam and Kris, but it didn’t happen and it wasn’t because of Dream On.

Season 7 had the same 1 million vote difference between David C., David A., and Syesha, which I found somewhat odd when Ryan said it held true this year, as well. David Cook, like Kris Allen, won by a high majority of votes.

Any American that had an interest, and even those who didn’t, know who won American Idol. No matter how often or vociferoulsy you blog or post on message boards, it won’t change that fact. They’re not on here, they’re not hearing you.

Adam and the other guy sentiment is merely preaching to the Adam Lambert choir.

  • hwc

Adam and the other guy sentiment is merely preaching to the Adam Lambert choir.

That’s all I’m really interested in.

  • funnybottoms

hwc, i assume you’ve seen this-
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdrl66RI0bc

and this, which has been confirmed by kris in interviews-
    http://www.krisallenation.com/2009/05/kradam-finale.html

If you have, and you still don’t see any actual affection, then it makes perfect sense you wouldn’t have seen it in these interviews, either. Where I come from, you don’t enthusiastically invade someone’s personal space like that, or proclaim your friendship through the medium of nail polish, when your relationship is “merely” respectful and friendly. And there’s a difference between “we’re friends and we both feel like winners” sound bites, and “we just felt each other’s energy and it became this great friendship,” “I could go on about this forever,” etc. etc. etc.

As for why people enjoy it? Other people have noted that women pick up on social interaction. I think it’s like a buddy movie but with real people – we take vicarious pleasure in sweet, fun camaraderie. How on earth does that diminish from the musical talents of either one? I became a fan of Kris, Allison, and Adam for their music, and it’s just my good luck that they’re so much fun when they interview together. They all seem to have moved past the competition phase, if they were ever in it, what with all the helping each other out even during the run of the show. The show is the show, but these kids are probably more interested in their individual careers, and music is not a zero sum game. They are allowed to be awesome at the same time.

  • funnybottoms

    never mind

    HWC:

So if Kris (a.k.a. the guy who won American Idol) goes on to have a more successful career than Adam, then will you call him by his name? Or will you continue to be this disrespectful?

And please don’t tell me this scenario isn’t possible. I’m a big fan of both Kris and Adam, and I happen to think they will both be successful and hope both with have logn careers. Right now, Adam is the media darling. But until these guys actually have their own original music out and start touring on their own, I can’t say who will end up being more successful — although I could generalize by saying that singer-songwriters seemingly tend to have better staying power than more stylized types of musicians who are more vulnerable to changing tastes in music.

  • Mary102

I’m just hoping we get way more of these impromptu vids throughout the summer :-) Adam promised tour vids up on his website, so I’m anxiously awaiting them!

Is there a nickname we can come up with for Adam, Kris and Katy? Kradaty?

  • Tess

Yup, I love what’s his fanny, adore the other guy, smile whenever I see the little lady, still don’t like who’s it, tolerate those piano guys, the guy with the groucho marx eyebrows is good, the lady with the booty and miss tweety aren’t my cuppa, and the blue collar guy is just bleh.

  • sr4mjc

    tess, that’s hilarious!

  • SarahP

LOL @ “I am so sick of this water bottle!”, “Surprise, surprise!” and the facials.

I bought my ticket to the L.A. tour stop. Never been to a concert by myself but am definitely going to enjoy it!

ME TOO! I bought my (one) ticket just last week (the concert is on July 8).

Adam, straighten up – slouching is bad! heh. And I’ve always thought that toque is hideous. Just yuck.

To Susan M. and ravengirl – the belt buckle that Adam is wearing was sent to him ages ago by a fan who posts regularly on the American Idol forums (Adams folder of course) and goes by the avatar of bowchickawowow.
I can remember reading discussions about the buckle when he first wore it and how excited everyone was that he was wearing a à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“fanà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ gift.

Yep. That’s a great belt buckle (and I’m not usually a fan of ‘skull’ accoutrements [heh]); IIRC, it’s a profile cross-section of a skull, with watch parts (for lack of a better description) for the ‘brain’.

    isisdagmar
Is anyone else still really hoping that Slezak will do a Kradison idolatry interview?

And how utterly *awesome* would that be?! [raises her eyes imploringly to the heavens] Pleeeeeeeeeze?!?!

    star
Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m sure heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll have a ballad on there, and Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d bet on it coming from Ryan Tedder.

Good call. And Adam’s rendition of “Come Home” is amazing.
