honestly I just think he did this to promote his album with the “tween” audience…thtas why the whole “evil Jonas brother” thing was brought up, it was a direct cultural reference aimed at softening his image a bit…however, after his AMA performance, I dont think this will work…it is going to take some time before ppl forget that performance and start talking about other stuff, namely other performances…oh well, Im sure he will still be fine though. He just needs to think things through a bit more from now on…its funny because offstage he really seems like a nice, friendly and laid-back guy yet on stage he can be so aggressive…LOL

God, Adam looks hot and is witty as always. I love this man.

I forgot to mention the Dickensian scarf and emo hair. ;)

According to Adam in several interviews, the Lambert household, while not particularly observant, did not celebrate Christmas at all ‘“ they did Chanukah and the occasional Passover. I was rather surprised at that, too. In a recent radio interview, he even said that Chanukah Harry came to his house (Jon Lovitz must be proud.)

I just figure that a Jingle Ball is not the time or place to quibble about the name of the holiday for which he received that He-Man Castle.

Adam is the next in a LONG line of Jewish performers who have written, performed or otherwise produced Christmas music, television programs, plays and movies. A few, such as Barbara Streisand, have even contributed religious Christmas products.

Just dropping in from busier than usual RL today and wanted to say I’m not skerred, either! I think that going on these talk shows is really crucial for Adam right now. Whether he’d done what he did on the AMAs or not, the fact, IMO, is that he is a much bigger picture than just a great voice, but a lot of people wouldn’t look past the crazy hair and fingernail polish to give him the time of day. Showing his cool/classy/intelligent/articulate side can only help. I really don’t think Barbara asked him on her show to lambaste him. The impression I get is that she truly likes him, and she’s certainly no prude, so I doubt she was even in the slightest offended by his performance. In addition to the obvious draw of ratings, I also think Barbara wanted him on The View because she wanted to make a point on his behalf.

Not so far, and given his reaction to the question at the red carpet for 2012, I don’t think Adam wants to do it.

In other words, I dearly hope not. Because that would be the one (real) Adam Lambert album I would not buy.

I didn’t mean that Adam would be performing religious Chirstmas music. I was merely responding to a post above about Adam appearing in the Jingle Balls events and discussing Christmas. Some folks have said it was odd but I was just pointing out that it isn’t anything new. Some of the holiday classics (“The Christmas Song” “White Christmas”, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to name a very few) were even written by Jewish composers. Its just making a living.

I guess I’m confused……..is Adam not supposed to discuss Christmas with others because he’s Jewish? That would seriously reduce the number of people he could talk to at Christmas time if that’s the case. It’s not like he’s going to Christmas mass or decorating a Christmas tree or singing O Holy Night…..he’s talking to other performers about Christmas.

Don’t get me wrong. I thought Adam’s response to the questions was the right one, and, given the situation, there was nothing wrong with the questions, either.

I just don’t want Adam to put out a Christmas album or sing Christmas songs that aren’t about, oh, snow.

  • suebrody

He might put out a glammy holiday album but he won’t sing Oh, Holy Night anytime soon. ;)

On the serious side, he will probably be singing something in Hebrew for the Stephen Spielberg JDL benefit. Geez, I forgot what he sang w/ the Israeli singer before, and I should know this.

“I went to the z100 jingleball a few years ago with a friend, her daughter and a few of her daughters friends, and pretty much everyone there was between the ages of 11 and 16 with parental chaperones, mostly female. These things skew really really young.”

Well, the Y100 Jingle Ball this Saturday in Sunrise (Ft. Lauderdale) Fl. has performers such as Shakira and FloRida. I was thinking of going with my friend, but we don’t have any daughters to chaperone. Can we borrow some? lol Does anyone know if Adam’s definitely going to this one? I know Jordin Sparks will perform also. I am definitely rethinking getting tickets because of the youthful ages mentioned here. oh boy, feeling old…lol

Yes, I haven’t heard anything about Adam making Christmas music. I’m a huge fan of Adam but I would not purchase that CD. For starters, Adam singing schmaltzy carols, I don’t see it. For another, I’m Jewish myself and would never listen to Christmas music in the first place. Perhaps a Chanukah album then? Bet Adam’s cover of Maoz Tzur would be pretty and then a spoofy one that makes fun of Christmas could be super hilarious. And he could do a funky dreidel dreidel with the rock shreak. Would be so hilarious and awesome!! No? There’s a nice amount of other songs he could tap into too that go with the holiday.

And also “Shir Lashalom”, which is a song about yearning for peace, and has taken on an even more significantl meaning ever since the assassination of Yitzchak Rabin, because that was the last song he sang in a demonstration for peace, and after he was shot, they found the words of the song written on a note and folded in his breast pocket…
It was chilling to hear Adam sing it…

    And an Adam Christmas album??
All I can say is Haaaa haaaaa
    Nope. Don’t see it happening.
Then again, Adam’s notorious for doing the unexpected… now that would be unexpected…
