I’m NOT running an Adam Lambert fansite here. This thread is not for Adam Lambert fanwanking. Folks who can’t follow my rules cannot post here.

No discussing my blog on the blog. Do I need to say it again? Folks are permitted to criticize Adam in these threads without a pile on from his fans. If you want to fanwank without interruption, you need to look elsewhere.

However, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve never seen the near elimination of a masthead like that on Adamà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s RS cover (^^ Rolling Stone).

Check out Taylor Swift’s RS cover from March. All you get to see is part of 4 letters. RS frequently dips into the “obscure the masthead” effect. They seem to like doing it for the more posed photos. For instance, the girls from the “Hills” obscure the masthead while Bob Dylan and U2 stay behind the masthead. If it’s just a head shot, odds are your behind the RS masthead. The more of your body they show, the higher the likelihood you are obscuring their masthead (at least lately). I’m sure there is some logic for that.

I was surprised to keep finding Adam pop up in weird places.

Our local “pop” radio station (Clear Channel that broadcasts Ryan’s radio show in prime-time afternoon drive slot) had an – are you ready for this? – “Adam Lambert Coming Out in Rolling Stone” weekend last week. What does that mean? It means they were “cleaning out their prize closet” and having prize give away’s.

That left me scratching my head. I guess it made sense to whoever thought it up at the radio station. At any rate, it’s interesting that the AI “loser” has a big prize give away weekend named after him. If anyone didn’t know who he was before then, they do now.

Knowing from magazine cover meetings, i’m sure a staff of *many* debated this cover to death, including the fact that Adam’s image doesn’t only drape the masthead but essentially obliterates it. I haven’t done a comprehensive study, but I’m inclined to say, that is a rarity.

Seeing himself as “always out” but avoiding the topic is an interesting way to put it. I mean, if you look at that TMZ video, that’s a fair way to describe it. On the other hand, I think of how Perez Hilton criticized him for not coming out quickly enough and calling him “Adam LAMEbert” and I can see that quote irritating some people.

I’m not sure that I could joke with Perez after being dubbed LAMEbert for months.

I dunno about that, because he says “I” everywhere else when talking about his numbers. The band is presumably present for those, as well. I mean, he could mean the band. But he could mean it’s a duet or a group number, too. I guess if nothing else we’ll find out, oh, about July 5th.

Since the producers’ official meme is that there are co-winners, I have a feeling that Adam and Kris will have the same number of solos. And they’ll flip a coin every night to see who goes last. (I’m mostly kidding, but ever since they managed to let Adam go first AND last on The Theme Night Created Just For Adam Lambert, I think nothing is impossible when it comes to 19′s manipulations for Adam.)

I have read and reread the online snippets and thought I knew everything there was to know about this article … WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!! I had NO CLUE. This is completely indicative of the difference of Web content and print content (in my biz, a continuously debated issue, for which no one has a real solution. Um, until now. Rolling freakin’ Stone does).

I LOVED this piece!!! I am a magazine editor and spend my life writing, reading and fine-tuning magazine articles and I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a piece with this level of honesty and nuance, candor and dimension, balls-out edge without being abrasive. He came across as incredibly complex, real, likable and down-to-earth in an enlightened, ethereal way (is that even possible?).

I’m a ridiculous fantard already, but I LOVE Adam like a million times more now. (Which truly frightens me … may need to be committed).

Since Adam said à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“weà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬  are doing a Bowie medley at the end of his set, does anybody think that means ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s a duet with Kris (segueing into Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s set) or a group number?

Mainstream media do not pay to do a story on someone. That would set a bad precedent.

Tabloids are another matter altogether.
