Well first you use MJ’s link to itunes! Then when you are in Itunes at the song where the buy button is is an arrow press that to bring a list up and you will see gift the song…Hope this helps

Where it says… BUY 1.29 Album right under the album pic.. there is a drop down menu. Click the little arrow at the end of the button and there is an option there.

Yep! I saw him 2 1/2 weeks ago in Providence, RI. He is soo adorable. I even met him (briefly) at a pub next to Lupos. I hope they release Lie soon. FAIL, RCA. At least they are doing better at marketing Adam…a little. After Adam, he’s my favorite. I voted for him like 500x in the finale.

I was starting to wonder if Adam’s management (RCA) and Amazon were BFFs. Amazon seemed to have gotten first dibs on him for both the pre-sale album and the single. I wonder if Amazon agreed to reduce their percentage of the downloads in order to get it first. I think the small loss in revenue would be worth it for Amazon if it brought new people to the site. (just in time for the holiday shopping season). I don’t think it’s alot of money for RCA, but heck, it might pay for the catering truck on the FYE video shoot. This is just my speculation as I can’t think of any other reason why ITUNES would lag. By the way, does anyone know how much ITUNES and Amazon get per download?

I use Amazon a lot. They have great deals. Weezer’s newest album is only $3.99 right now. I bought Fame and Viva La Vida last year for $5.00 each. Also, it automatically opens iTunes and stores the songs in your library. No hassle at all.

ITunes has screwed up before, though. Sometimes they just don’t get stuff up when they’re supposed to, or in the right place, or whatever. This really could just be one of their mistakes, I think.

I shop based on price and, while Itunes has given me a few superior deals, for the music I’ve wanted Amazon has been more likely to give me a better deal, when they differ.

For me, from the very first Amazon purchase, they’ve all just added themselves automatically to my Itunes library. Zero hassle of any kind.

Ok, maybe I’m just being super paranoid at the moment (ahh, welcome to the Adam rollercoaster), but all this crap lately has made me nervous for the roll out. After Ryan’s show on Friday, there has been mucho confusion (no itunes release, no other radio tie-ins that we know of), and in fact very little press planned (compared to Kris) at least until the AMA’s.

The adds date seemed crappy too – way too soon after the song was released. IIRC Lady Gaga was doing the rounds for Bad Romance at least a few weeks before, and she’s already an established hit maker, so I’m not getting this PR strategy at all. Argh.

I need to email mix104.1 in Boston again. I wouldn’t if they hadn’t tweeted me about playing FYE on Saturday, but they did, so I will.

FYE does come up when you search on For Your Entertainment…you have to scroll down to “Albums” and it’s there. It also shows up when you search on Adam Lambert when you selected “See all” It needs to bump out Want or Ten Commandments and have better placement…hello iTunes!!!!!!

Yay! Downloaded FYE… and it’s already on repeat.

I actually ordered the collector’s edition from adamofficial.com (which came with a free download for FYE), but I wanted to support Adam and help FYE climb the charts… so I purchased it from Itunes as well.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how bonus tracks from itunes work? Do you have to buy the entire album from itunes, or can you just download the bonus song (Down the Rabbit Hole, I think it is). Or maybe that’s one of the bonus tracks included with the adamofficial.com purchase? They said there would be 2 bonus tracks available for download on 11/23. Thanks!

Wow, you’re lucky if you can even find it—doesn’t show up under his name. At this point, I don’t know why they just didn’t wait another week or so to try and bring in more casual fans, certainly the core fanbase has already bought the single elsewhere. I get the impression RCA isn’t really concerned about high, early iTunes numbers. There isn’t even a banner.

I actually thought the Amazon version of Time for Miracles was better quality than itunes.

No, it’s #15 with a green arrow. #1,2 and 3 on Amazon are free downloads. You can access the chart at Amazon.com. Just click on music and mp3 downloads is one of the categories. On the right side of the screen are the charts. Only shows the top 10, but there is a “see more” option. It’s really easy. I’m not anticipating even a top 10 for FYE on itunes. This whole release has been too weird.

With the late iTunes roll-out, FYE will be lucky to do as well as TFM in the first few days. I really don’t expect to see it chart high until after the AMA’s (or unless the radio spins really pick-up quick).

But, obviously RCA isn’t concerned, so I won’t be.

I agree, ChicagoLaw… the only way I found it was by clicking on MJ’s link (thank you, MJ!). I have noticed that’s happened in the past though… when we know that something is available but it’s not showing up with a banner.

It should be updated very shortly, but I think it’s a real shame that it took RCA/Sony 6 days to get it up on itunes… and that Amazon beat them! I understand that it may have to do with radio play, but even the official adam website has been seriously behind on news, Adam’s tweets, etc. I think they’ve finally gotten better the last few days…. but still!

RCA must have underestimated Adam’s fierce loyal fanbase. They’ll figure it on Nov 23rd (if not sooner).

Do artists usually release the video to MTV/VH1 the same time as they release the single to radio?

VH1 has a weekly top 20 countdown that is at least partially driven by viewer votes/requests. They have a wild card category, but who knows when it would make sense to start voting for it to be on the list.

Their countdown is usually an even mix of adult contempory, R&B and pop, dance stuff.

Adam better be busy working on that video right away!

I hope he is getting paid to help promote 2012. It seems Sony is not promoting TfM, but just the movie, and they are using Adam for promotions (press junket, red (black carpet). Adam needs to start promoting his single.

She was excited that Adam’s new single was out, and she spoke to a technician in the ITunes dept and she said they would be “right on it” to correct the mistake. (You can’t bring up the link by inputting Adam Lambert, you must enter For Your Entertainment).

Yeah- count me as another unhappy customer. I can tell by Twitter traffic that no one is jumping through hoops to buy FYE on ITunes. They were, however, really excited the other day when it was available on AO. My guess is most people have it already, so don’t be disappointed when the Itunes sales are lackluster.

Oh, yeah – right there with you. And I was seriously making myself sick last night worrying over the adds doom and gloom talk yesterday. It just all seems too rushed now all of a sudden, when there was nothing but waiting for so long before. IDK. I really really hope he has the support to make this work.

TFM to me was a disapoinment in so much that we had all the promises (TII MV premier, etc.) then a lot of FAIL when those things never happened.

I figured, logically, that TFM wasn’t being pushed to radio/advertised, to make room for the single instead. Well, ok, that’s here now, so where is the big push?

We said before that if the music was good enough, there was really no way he could fail (since he’s so mega-talented to begin with). Ok, so now we know the music IS good, and FYE has gotten good feedback, so from my pov there’s no reason to have to worry about his success.

So I just have to remind myself to have faith, and that this is just one really really crazy rollercoaster ride, and has been since, oh, sometime around February 2009 The album cover had me going crazy a week ago, and now this is the new thing to fret over.

Someone on one of Adam’s Amazon discussion pages posted a link to a website which describes the “Take One” album as AUTHORIZED by Adam. The website also claims the recordings were made with Madonna’s band. Malcolm Welsford appears to be making up stories in order to convince people that Adam approves of this album.

Just so folks know, the same thing happened on iTunes when David Cook’s singles came out. It eventually got corrected. I don’t know if this is typical for new releases or not. Anyways, the power search function does work, so you can always recommend that way of accessing the single.

I don’t buy this, because no matter how big an idol contestant (or other artist for that matter) is, the label still has to help sell the stuff. Lady Gaga was promoting her new single, despite having 4 recent top hits, Britney does promo, etc.

And even in the best of circumstances where idols sell a ton in the first week (like the Davids last year), they fall off right after when the hardcore fans drop out, and so it’s necessary to do the promo to get the name out there beyond the AI fans.

So even if Adam sold a 150,000 his first week with TFM, that would have been all AI fans, and the numbers would plummet without additional support from somewhere. Same now with FYE. And not even having it available on itunes till this late is certainly not helping things.

I hope FYE is okay, b/c of all the interviews he did b/c of the 2012 premier. And if not, well, the AMAs should really kick it up.

I think you’re correct on all of this. The lack of radio interviews, the lag in radio adds are really going to hurt sales for this song, imho. Adding to all of that, it was late on getting to iTunes, it has no ad and again, you couldn’t even find it by searching for Adam Lambert. What a clusterfeck.

RCA better get it’s head out and start doing what they do to get songs added and getting those radio interviews set up and not be relying on some word of mouth from fans, because Adam needs to get seriously outside the bubble with this song and fast. As you say, the hardcore Adam fans can and probably have already bought this from AO or maybe even Amazon yesterday.

Other than invested fans who really cares how many singles are downloaded the first week? Will this number determine someone’s career, or make or break them. Based on what happened with TfM Adam’s internet fan base is pretty small so I’m not expecting any kind of huge number for FYE on I-tunes. And, to me, I don’t really care. I’d like him to get in the top 10 eventually because having your song cover on I-tunes main page is nice “free” advertising…but if that takes a bit of time, that’s OK.

In fact, I’m not overly concerned with any of the singles for Adam. I would like him to do well on Album sales and that is where I will be focussing my attention. The rest of this stuff is just a little gravy. Bring me the meat and potatoes, please.

The pic is actually from the Michael Jackson premiere the week before. But, it is yummy!

Most artists, especially AI artists, tour in support of their debut cd, so no surprise there. What remains to be seen is the format of the tour, especially in this economic climate. Will he tour solo in smaller venues or will he open for someone in larger venues? Either way, touring these days is rough, not much money to be made unless you are HUGE and can fill arenas.

I don’t think the itunes delay will affect his sales much. Adam has rabid fans and they certainly have enough time left this week to download FYE. The sales week ends Sunday, plenty of time to get your download and to gift your 50 closest friends.

does anyone know if it is tracking at itunes at all yet, know it is early, but I can’t check in work’ ¦

When the singles sales totals are released next Wednesday, they include all digital sales, not just ITunes, so does it matter if fans couldn’t wait and bought it at AO or Amazon?

Has it been confirmed that Adam ISN’T going to do radio promo?? The single came out on Friday, there wouldn’t be promotion over the weekend and Monday and Tuesday he was doing 2012 promo. Again, it seems people are jumping the gun to predict what/where RCA is going with the promo. I haven’t been able to predict them yet and at this point, am not even willing to try.

Other than invested fans who really cares how many singles are downloaded the first week? Will this number determine someone’s career, or make or break them. Based on what happened with TfM Adam’s internet fan base is pretty small so I’m not expecting any kind of huge number for FYE on I-tunes. And, to me, I don’t really care. I’d like him to get in the top 10 eventually because having your song cover on I-tunes main page is nice ‘free’  advertising’ ¦but if that takes a bit of time, that’s OK.

Amazon reports to Soundscan, I don’t know about the Adam Official sales. I think for those that bought the deluxe album through AO, the free single download probably won’t count because it had a zero dollar price attached to it on the invoice.

Sony may have wanted to experiment with skimming the dedicated fan base sales. Thinking, well, those folks, who are clearly a nice solid 40-50K group bought TFM strictly by online blog buzz. Let’s see if we can start getting them interested in AO, and buying straight from Sony Digital Music. Good place to experiment. (Don’t think they expected all the “Windows makes it weird/ I can’t get it in iTunes posts”)

There is also the Carrie Underwood Week factor, as several people mentioned in earlier threads. Linear marketing flow charts would have that being the big deal of this week. And not FYE launch.

Not actually sure when the “official” FYE release date was intended. No tweets on it. No fanfare. There was a lot of Adam buzz last week- some good, some less than about the cover — that both primed the media to talk about the single immediately and made not having the music out there a problem.

So, surprise, with little notice, Adam went on Ryan’s show and played the single. (And was it on Ryan’s that the alleged Tues digital availability date was announced.)

Digital control seems on the loose. There are, pardon, no boundaries anymore about confining releases. Note us listening to international snippets. Is that being used intentionally? Like let’s leak to Denmark? Not sure. But feels more like they haven’t worked it all out yet.

Wait, I thought touring was where the money was?? I thought that was one of the reason that David Cook is so lucrative for RCA? He doesn’t play arenas and is generating lots of money, isn’t he?

I am absolutely certain that Adam will be doing radio promo…EVERYONE does radio promo…he has probably already recorded “tags” or whatever they are called to be played by various stations, he will certainly be doing call-in interviews etc. Maybe they plan on having him do this starting next week and closer in time to the album drop

Not when it comes to counting sales. However, if a song does well on Itunes then it will rise to the top of the chart there, be visible to casual browsers, and potentially pick up more sales that way. So … kinda.

I live right out site of Atlanta GA. I heard it on Star 94.1. That is the station that the American Top 40 is on every week here so I hope to hear it in the countdown really soon.

That’s great to hear. I’ve been listening to Star94 the last few days hoping to hear it, but haven’t yet. Hopefully it will get into the regular rotation. I’ve had my fill of Boom Boom Pow and Poker Face not to mention all of the whiny emo/pop/rock, like anything Daughtry and The Fray.

Star94 is a Clear Channel station, so if it gets picked up here, it ‘s probably getting played on all their Top 40 stations. BTW, Ryan’s show is broadcast here in Atlanta on Star94 during the afternoon drive time – the primo spot for radio besides the morning drive time.

I expect it’s going to be slow going for the single. The Adam Official sales will hurt its climb, plus the weird release time and not being able to find it easily. Adam is actually teaching me patience..whodathunk??

Kris did get more adds in his “official” adds week which occurred 2 1/2 weeks after the song premiered.

The first week after the single premiered, he got 9. 4 HAC and 4 Pop and 1 Christian I think. Kirsten’s got some good info about how rushed the adds date was added for FYE and how most “adds” are planned by a station well before the 3 days allotted to FYE. She talks about it in the sales thread.

Kris had 14 adds his first week, with two of those being stations from Arkansas. Tattoo had 4 adds, Crush had 8, and Light On had 21. 13 adds seems fine for the FIRST WEEK!

So disappointed in how RCA has handled this single so far.

well it is a nice picture but I think it is more people looking for music from Adam and come across the song….They don’t know the history and for some it is not really a horrible song and his voice is great on it…. In other BS stuff WTF is going on with FYE…Here they have a very likable dance song with Adam’s signature rock wails and nothing….Do they assume that the promotion will be the AMA’s when he preforms it live… Now I think he is amazing live but this is a big risk. IMHO….it this is there thinking…but right now I am clueless on what strategy they have come up with because it seems whacked.

Seriously, they should have waited another week or so for iTunes and then got it right. This feels real sloppy and last minute.

Of course, all the sales will be counted and FYE should have good numbers. But, Adam isn’t going to have a big iTunes debut and the valuable advertising that being on their front page gives you. I would really like to know the philosophy behind selling the single on AO first. Again, I am sure RCA had to know that AO sales would kill any chance FYE had on iTunes for big first day numbers.

Yeah, that’s ridiculous. Almost like it’s hidden and it’s new, at least put it at the top of the list where you can see it. When I bought TFM it was easy but this I only found by coming here reading how to find it.

Also, stations dont play new one day-old songs on a weekend, specially halloween which has its own music. FYE was released in a Friday and had 2 lost days, while LLWD debuted on a Monday and had a full radio week to be tested.

Seriously…iTunes is effed. FAIL! I searched Adam Lambert and it doesn’t even show up…you can see it if you scroll through the songs, but there’s no icon. It’s not prominent at all. Then…if you search For Your Entertainment it comes up as an album not a single. And why is it that I still cannot pre-order on iTunes?

Maybe because of the initial screw up and the fact that people were ordering it through the album link, the single ended up charting on the album chart?

A likely unpopular opinion…Regarding the promotion. My guess is that they don’t plan any promotion until after the 22nd. And that the add date being early was to encourage radio play. I’m guessing they’re also hoping the fan base will encourage their local stations to play it.

The AMA followed by the GMA performance, Letterman and whatever other national exposure he can get is their main promotional tool. I suspect they’ve already had discussions with a lot of the radio stations to encourage them to play it and they likely have already lined up or are lining up agreements for Adam to do interviews to encourage the process along. However, my bet is that it is all coordinated to occur from Thanksgiving week through Christmas. Until then, they’ll let the song build on the radio. And really, it’s not doing bad. It’s hasn’t even been out a week.

Sony is really behind Adam. Poor coordination of the rollout of his single isn’t going to be a big deal in the long run. As for the album/single mix up at itunes, just use the official reporting mechanism at itunes and let them know the problem. Then relax, sit back and enjoy the ride.

So let me get this straight, it’s a day late showing up on iTunes. When it eventually does, it is only for the single name, and can’t be found under the artist or searching for the artist. Eventually it gets added to the artist, but it’s like part of a list, not at the top, like TfM was. There isn’t an add for the single. And now it’s being misclassified as an album, rather than a single.

Here’s the adds history for LLWD. It debuted on 9/21/09. For sale on Itunes 9/24/09. Went for official adds on 10/12/09.

Week ending 9/28/09 – 7 adds 1 Christian, 2 Top 40 4 Hot AC
Week ending 10/5/09 – 8 adds 4 Top 40, 4 Hot AC

On 10/12/09 – 10/13/09 – Official Adds date – about 30 more adds.

I can’t figure out why the rushed Adds date for FYE, but hopefully it will do better in the weeks to come.

I typed in Adam’s name in the search function and all his single came up, with FYE at the bottom of the listings.

But, the cover is not shown on the home page, though Allison’s is. I sent some feedback to iTunes to say it should be listed as the first single available above all his other singles, and maybe promoted on the home page along with the other new singles.

I dunno how much feedback they receive from anyone, and my voice is small in the grand scheme of things, but hey ho. Hopefully, it’ll all get sorted out soon by them.

jms—I think that is exactly what is going on. I think the AMA performance has changed the game a bit. RCA does seem to be using that as the big debut/roll-out. They rushed the adds date and will let the song build on radio over the next couple weeks. I don’t think they care about a big, splashy iTunes debut for the single. I don’t think RCA is worried, and I think they are confident that things will be where they want them to be come December. I do think the single is doing well, it just debuted last Friday, and it is getting spins.

The AMA followed by the GMA performance, Letterman and whatever other national exposure he can get is their main promotional tool.

And all good tools, jms. Especially since the space between single and album short. The digital single buyers, hard core fans, are going to buy the album anyway. And maybe with the TV exposure, some AI familiar supporters will decide to just go for the album. Or pick up the hard copy while holiday shopping for themselves or gifts.

And Oprah and Ellen appearances could happen. Maybe, for Adam, they feel it’s best to push hardest when the physical CD is ready. It’s just a few weeks away. And it’s the holidays. People who don’t regularly buy albums, but watched AI, could easily, after seeing him on TV, want the record. And those people will want the physical CD.

I’m speculating I can’t acces Itunes at work – just the feed.

A likely unpopular opinion’ ¦Regarding the promotion. My guess is that they don’t plan any promotion until after the 22nd. And that the add date being early was to encourage radio play. I’m guessing they’re also hoping the fan base will encourage their local stations to play it.

The AMA followed by the GMA performance, Letterman and whatever other national exposure he can get is their main promotional tool. I suspect they’ve already had discussions with a lot of the radio stations to encourage them to play it and they likely have already lined up or are lining up agreements for Adam to do interviews to encourage the process along. However, my bet is that it is all coordinated to occur from Thanksgiving week through Christmas. Until then, they’ll let the song build on the radio. And really, it’s not doing bad. It’s hasn’t even been out a week.

Sony is really behind Adam. Poor coordination of the rollout of his single isn’t going to be a big deal in the long run. As for the album/single mix up at itunes, just use the official reporting mechanism at itunes and let them know the problem. Then relax, sit back and enjoy the ride.

If you simply power search for adam on the itunes home page, you see fye right away, album cover and all, no scrolling necessary, nothing hidden’ ¦.how are the rest of you searching for it?

I am going to iTUnes store, putting Adam Lambert into the search box upper right, it brings me to all Adams songs, including songs by other artists that have Adam Lambert as titles of their songs, inclucing Want and NoBo, and at the very bottom “12 is FYE.
At the top are photos of cd covers for sin synthetic, want, nobo, hitmasters, etc but no cover or mention of FYE.

iTunes is messed up. Adam’s single FYE is charting on the Pop albums list at #29.

on the itunes home page, to the right, it says power search. HIt it and then it takes you to a page where you search by song and/or artist…takes to right to an adam page where fye is right there

That’s how I’m searching, but in my case, FYE doesn’t show on the results page unless you click “see all”. Then, it’s the last one shown. I’m using an older version of iTunes, so that could be the reason.

Unlikely, seems to me. Honestly, they screw up a *lot.* …. and they really have nothing to gain that I can see by deliberately bungling someone’s release. Especially a kind of high-profile release. They make money by selling the music, after all! … They really do screw up a lot. As I remember it, with Elliott, for example, they’ve made some screw up or other with at last half the albums/singles he’s released. It’s not unusual that things are weird there for the first few days.

I agree with doing more promotion right when the CD is available. I think selling whole albums is mostly “point-of-sale” purchases, rather than preorders. People are shopping, see the new CDs on display, and in Adam’s case will hopefully say “oh yeah he was just on the (AMA, GMA, insert TV show) and his new song was cool” or “oh yeah I just heard his new song on the radio” – People have very short memories so doing a bunch of advertising now for something they can’t even get for 3 weeks isn’t as beneficial as letting the song pick up steam on the radio and then start reminding them to buy the album.

I dont even look at or concern myself with adds. Adam will get plenty of spins and airplay I’m sure of that.

mmb: I see it now through power search but I have never used that before. I always use the Search Store function up in the very top right. And I download a ton of music from itunes. I’m guessing a lot of other people use that method of searching as well and unfortunatley FYE is pretty hard to find that way. (You need to search under Adam Lambert and it isn’t visible right away, you then need to hit see all for it to come up.)

If you go to the home page for all things Itune over in the right hand top corner is a title called Quick links under it is power search click that on and then you type in Adam’s name and FYE come up as the 5 song. Don’t know why it does not work using the normal search.. Thanks to mmb for those instructions before!!!

FYE [single] is messed up on both iTunes US and Amazon US — but Amazon has mostly fixed it.

iTunes has it in albums, not songs. So it is on the Album chart.

Amazon has it on twice. But now the main listing is Amazon FYE [single].
T4M was also on Amazon twice — but the wrong one [classified as an album] is almost gone now.

Yeah, FYE is #1 in Movers & Shakers on Amazon, just above (on top) of Rhinanna’s Russian Roullette!!!

It is. Very par for the course. And certainly not just for Idols. Head over to Pulse for a bit and talk to some Britney fans. Or Drake fans. Or Mariah fans. All have had meltdowns recently over momentary iTunes glitches that OMG! caused their artist to “lose” all-important sales. All you can do is send a polite help inquiry to iTunes, and wait. It will all come out in the wash.

You might also consider contacting the mods via Adam’s official site. It took iTunes nearly 24 hours to post Cook’s charity version of ‘Permanent’ after the AI finale, but we contacted the RCA “web nerds” at DCO and were able to get a response back from the label that they were working on the issue with iTunes. The problem was resolved quickly after that.

Ok, so when Adam performs on AMA what does anyone think he will wear?? When I first heard FYE I thought “no leather” but after hearing it a zillion times I’m thinking black leather all the way. Anyone any ideas?

I don’t think that Adam is done promoting 2012 — it doesn’t open until 11/13/09 and there are two more press events scheduled. I think that Adam may be involved since he was a big part of the 2012 “Black Carpet” Premiere press.

But, I hope he doesn’t tweet about the song being on iTunes until they 1. fix the US site and 2. at least have it on the UK iTunes site.

TFM’s launch was pretty seamless as I recall and I would expect FYE to get the same treatment…plain and simple. It’s annoying. I’m feeling a draft from all the finger wagging so I for one will stop discussing it.

T4M also went on iTunes unannounced and no ads. The ads went live on the US site after it was released. Fans found it in Japan first and after US fans noticed it charting they watched for T4M.

But the iTunes part of this is really messed up. Still doesn’t show up on and artist = Adam Lambert search.

Oh yeah, and the dancers will be wearing some light bondage gear.

When everyone said he looked like he lost weight, I was thinking: Yep, that’s probably ’cause he’s dancing his ass off every day in rehearsals for the AMAs!!!

Whatever he wears, he’ll be FAB- this is soooo exciting! Seeing him on live TV again in a real performance- not just 90 seconds of a song!

you can get it for free directly off of itunes. Go to itunes, go to movies, on the right hand side of the movie page you can find theatrical trailers, hit it and then go to the 2012 icon…there is a whole page where you can download the music video and the rest of the trailers for free…its easy

I didn’t call the RCA president, but I DO think it is appropriate as an Ipod customer (which you have to be to even complain), to complain if your favorite recording artist’s new single isn’t searchable under his name. And that is exactly how I presented it when I called. I’m not worried whether they think I’m overinvested-as a consumer I just want them to do things right.

I don’t think that Adam is done promoting 2012 ‘” it doesn’t open until 11/13/09 and there are two more press events scheduled. I think that Adam may be involved since he was a big part of the 2012 ‘Black Carpet’  Premiere press.

Agree! I think he will begin promoting FYE after 11/13. And this is why I thought they didn’t release FYE on iTunes 11/03, because Sony’s premiering 2012 on 11/03 and Adam was with them.

As soon as you follow him they are being removed again – he shot up to 98,000 followers and then it started falling again…. very strange

There was something going on with Twitter and these new list thingys as I couldnt add Adam to my music lists. Now though, he’s getting followers numbers back – I never stopped following him, so not sure if peeps have had to unfollow and then refollow. And he’s now gaining numbers on the listed part of his profile.

if you log out and log back in I think that’s when it shows you are no longer following him.

I didnt have him knocked off my following list, and he has been added to my listed thing now, which I tried to do several times at the weekend. But his followers numbers are going down and his listed numbers are going up.

NOT happy with how Itunes has handled this situation and I dont think it was a god idea to let the single be sold in three different places, especially since the Itunes charts are important…
they fixed the problem because if you do a search under his name the single appears, however there is no banner (Allison has one though) and that stupid sng Want has more popularity than FYE…what gives? I noticed it is cheaper than FYE so thats probably why…how could Itunes let that happen?? They are supposed to be promoting his single…

Yep. So this is kind of par for the Itunes (stands for “Idiottunes”) course, more or less.

Regarding iTunes, it is strange they don’t work harder to get the bugs out. For example, I downloaded Time for Miracles when it first came out and I can find it on my computer, but not on my iPod. It is not listed by its title, the singer or even 2012. So what’s up with that? I know there is a way to put it in a collection, but in the meantime I should be able to find it if I want to hear it. Silly!

When an album is new, you’re just going to see that, unless, I guess, people opt to not ‘Complete My Album’ and end up with 2 copies of the song.

I thought that had zero effect on rankings. I thought it went as a return, but when you completed your album it went as a sale. Therefore zero sum effect.

I’m happy this finally is up on iTunes. But why doesn’t iTunes try to feature it a bit so that it gets a ton of hits. And why not include Adam’s album for pre-order. Presumably Adam will have more iTunes pre-sales than Kris seeing as Kris had the iTunes pass. FYE has to reach #1 on iTunes, fans better work for this. It’s super important IMO so that the song has max. visibility to the general iTunes buying public. I just bought it.

My guess and I know Jive and RCA are nothing alike but Kris’s album was available for pre-order just this past Tues on Nov 3 which is two weeks before his release date. (I know I know Itune Pass but that something different and confuses my theory) Adam’s then will probably be available for Pre order next Tues Nov 10 as that will be two weeks before his album is release (I know I Know It is Actually 13 days because they move the original release date from the 24th to the 23rd. Come on work with people)

Everyone was freaking out over TFM not doing well, nobody even knows that song exists outside of the Idol fans. I’m sure they didn’t spend all that money to make a music video just so they can have something nice for us.

The AMA appearance is going to be a big deal, maybe they are planning a big roll-out for that. That will be some huge publicity for him and introduce him to a completely different audience.

There is no evidence he was hacked. It was most like twitter having weird problems. Not unheard of. Best to assume all is well unless there is a statement to the contrary.

I rated it and there was 136 ratings and a message that said, “Be the first to write a review” I wrote a review, refreshed, and the same message came up and my review went poof! I rated it again and it was still at 136, wrote another reveiw and the same thing happened.

It sure is…It is going back to what it looked like hours ago…Now FYE has only 3 bars (when it had all but 1 bar filled) and all the charts are messed up…Rhianna was number 1 but now she isn’t anymore… Its a mess

Still no FYE on iTunes Canada and the European countries have it? WTF? We are like a major supporter of Adam after the US. I am so pissed at the handling of Adam’s FYE by iTunes.

I see it now it is over on the right hand side under sponsored links. Maybe Itunes is doing this because of the F-up today.

I think there has been some kind of big internet glitch today. I was here and then couldn’t get back. Haven’t been able to get to my hotmail acct until just a bit ago. Went to a site for feline diabetes that I always go to and the Webmaster there said she couldn’t get to her gmail acct. Didn’t try my gmail acct, but did see other people there posting that they were having all kinds of problems with different sites today too.

I thought that it was my computer at first, but then saw everyone else saying the same thing.

So, twitter and all kinds of other stuff, including itunes could have been affected. Am curious to find out wth is going on though. ????

What is posted on Reuters is not an article or story. It is a press release put out by his PR team. That’s why there are emails and phone numbers at the bottom for contact information.

I just checked itunes on my iphone and FYE is still listed under albums, not under singles. It’s #29 on the pop album chart. Better yet, LLWD is listed on both the pop single and pop album charts. (By the way, Kris’s actual album is sitting at #8 on the pop album chart.) What a mess!!!

FYE #141 in albums and TfM #150 in singles at iTunes. Clearly they need to fix their definition of “albums” in iTunes.

After iTunes was crazily all over the place for a few hours, I think they went back to rankings from early today and have been frozen ever since. There’s probably people working on the problem as we speak, burning the midnight oil. They probably figure they have till morning east coast time to get it all squared away, I mean who would be up in the middle of night looking at iTunes rankings? LOL.

I could be way off on this possibility, but it seems that itunes has gone wonky before when there is a CD that is having huge sales…in this case Carrie Underwood.

So I listened to the three Kris interviews. The first one, from AK, of all places, was terrible. The djs were totally out of the loop, but the other interviews were pretty good. My question is why Adam isn’t doing any of these interviews. I am not pitting one against the other, but it would seem Adam would do some radio interviews to promote the single AND the album (or maybe the AMAs and GMA, etc.). Any clues as to why TPTB haven’t lined up for any, at least that we are aware of?

FYE is now #44 on iTunes Songs Chart (overall). TFM moved up to #144.

FIBOU is #95. LLWD is #108.

Wow, I am in a dilema! I tryed to download FYE from I tunes Canada
as I have done before for TFM. It worked for TFM but FYE (the little circle went round and round and…..nothing there. I went back to the page and tried to download it again and it tells me I have already downloaded, but I look and ….nothing in my music library under any category, so I try to download again, circle goes round for couple minutes, and they have charged me, now, for two downloads,. and still
…Nada I went to I tunes support but could not find a applicable category???
Any Ideas for this computer illiterati???

Just in case there is anyone here who really is curious about Clay – he currently is recording his new album – difficult to say exactly where because he travels around so much. Last known he was in Montreal. He is between fund raisers for his charity – the National Inclusion Project. The sold out annual Gala just finished two weeks ago, where one of the most active auctions was for a day with Clay in Raleigh. The winning bid was $46,000. Another bidder got a dinner with Clay for $41,000. We are all very envious. Although the plans for the third annual charity golf outing in Florida isn’t until early February, lots of plans take time. Clay does devote a good deal of time running the charity, which is his baby. Then there is his actual baby, Parker, who takes his precious time as well. Mama Jaymes has been quite busy producing the new album for Charice, so Clay has had a good deal of baby duty. A beautiful, hardwood rocking horse has been purchased for Parker, probably for Christmas. I understand it was $5,000. The new album is expected in early 2010. I know you will hear a good deal about it as time draws near.

@Justjude iTunes has really good customer service. When you are in your music library. Go to Store/View My account/log in/Purchase history.

See if you were charged for it. There is a button to for Download now.
