Oddly, I watched the premiere episode of Glee online the other day (just search for it!). I can see Adam as a superstar on one of the opposing teams. The scene in the premiere where the “oddball” group goes to see the “superstar” group is pretty funny.

Is Perez generally reliable on the rumors? Because a Glee cameo sounds completely fantastic–I remember before the finale reading an article where all the Glee kids (especially Lea Michele) were raving about Adam.

That looked like a pretty lush studio- absolutely everything was swathed in heavy fabric, not the egg carton looking sound material. And there were real lamps with real shades and it was all just beautifully accessorized.

A couple of days ago some of the cast of Glee Twittered that Adam showed up at the same studio they were at. And now this, it’s looking pretty plausible!

It’s gotten RAVE reviews and Fox is pimping it like CRAZY this summer. I predict Adam’s appearance will coincide with November Sweeps.

That was my reaction too! LOL Feeling Good was one of my favs, as much for the “tude” as anything. Especially from that first “…fe-e-lin’…. Gooooooood (dum-da-dum-da-dum-da-dum…)” midway down the glowing passion pink staircase!!

Adam Lambert’s new album challenges ‘Idol’ producer

The first single, “Want,” went on sale at digital music retailer iTunes on Tuesday. Lambert co-wrote nine of the songs, working mostly with Madonna’s guitarist, Monte Pittman.

“American Idol” producer 19 Entertainment issued a brief, businesslike statement attributed to Lambert in which he is quoted as saying, “The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on.”

“It doesn’t surprise us, but it doesn’t make us feel good,” Hi Fi Chairman and CEO John Hecker told Reuters on Tuesday. “For some reason it’s scaring Goliath, and I don’t know why.”

He said Lambert attended a post-production session last month, as “American Idol” reached its climax, and that the singer was “blown away” by what he heard.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this in the highly controlled “American Idol” organization. The winner and the runner-up from each season, along with some other finalists, score deals with a Sony Corp label through 19 Entertainment, which is owned by media firm CKX Inc.

Somebody is seriously lying here. This story is going to attract some serious investigative reporters if it gets any more out of hand.

Monte needs to weigh in since he co-wrote most of these songs. I think that might clear things up.

I seriously don’t think Adam or 19 E is as concerned about this as the fans are. They are ignoring it, only Hi-Fi is speaking and that’s mainly due to fan backlash – that’s how I see it until 19E speaks on it.

I know someone said this before me, but I’m guessing the “Adam attended a post-production session” is Hi-Fi’s way of twisting what was a visit by Adam to see if he wanted to put any of those old songs on his new album. He obviously didn’t and now Hi-Fi is going to cash in on them. And they’re going to make it sound like he was there to get this “album” of demos ready for release even though that’s most likely not what was happening.

There’s a separate thread for Hi-Fi’s latest press release. Wish we could have heard a little bit more from his recording session in this video.

When the episode of Glee aired a couple of months ago it was go good I was really disappointed that is doesn’t start until the fall. It was sooooo my middle school/high school years. Adam will be totally perfect for a cameo.

Yup. Well, I guess we were kind of spoiled because of the online clip yesterday. However, we got to see Adam sing “Yeeaaaaah” for a bit. Completely out of context from anything. Still, it’s nice to see the enthusiasm there.

The E! Reporter sort of insinuated a Madonna collaboration, but that totally felt like a “yes, I jumped to this conclusion” moment.

All that article tells me is that the Citizen Vain stuff will be on the new (old) album. And if Adam “attended a post production session,” it was to hear some of the product (maybe “Want” and a few others) to determine if it was something he/19 wanted to buy/use or fight over. Fact gathering, if you will.

Nothing seems too untoward to me, but the reports aren’t coming in terribly complete, and even if accurate, Heckler keeps adding more info, detail, and terms of art with each telling, making the story more credible.

At times like these, I try to view seemingly “contradictory” statements of “opposing” parties as true first, and see if a rational storyline will form around the “facts” without insisting that one is totally lying and the other is telling the complete story. Adam’s statement about session work came at a time when “Want” was announced as an imminent release — so his comments address that release and others like it. I’m not at all sure he knew, or even imagined, that Monte Pittman (and CV?) had ok’ed release of their songs or that Pittman had no rights, or if rights, no objection.

I doubt we’ll ever know the whole story, and since controversy keeps the story in the press — Heckler’s strongest (and free) promotion vehicle — I expect he’ll strive to keep the pot stirring and hot. When the album is released, then we’ll have a better idea.

For me, all this does is muddy the waters — because I’d like to have full Citizen Vain songs….

I hope Perez has his story straight this time because it would be really cute if Adam were on Glee.

I don’t know what to think about Hecker’s latest version of the story. First Adam was going to mysteriously “share in the success” of this and now he’s going to reap huge financial benefits.

As to the song they released, I doubt Adam co-wrote Want because it was recorded by someone else as December.

Adam’s going to guest star in GLEE? That would be amazing! i love the pilot episode of GLEE and I think Adam would fit right in with the cast. I can’t wait. There’s so many things that Adam fans can anticipate for this coming fall. Adam, stop spoiling us! lol

I am SO excited! Adam looks so cute in the interview (lost weight, Emo hair, cool t-shirt) and so happy! RedOne looks happy. Adam sounds great. They both seem ultra excited. We get 5 seconds of Adam singing! (LOL) I think this album is going to be AMAZING!!! And as I did note in the other thread, if 19/RCA really want to stay ahead of the game, they might want to release a track during the tour (I am sure one could be ready). They could say, American Idol Finalist Adam Lambert releases the first track off his forthcoming album (name if there is one). X will be released in the fall (blah, blah). This track will generate excitement, throw Glamberts into a total tizzy (just watching this interview makes my heart race), and make everyone forget about our pals at Hi-Fi.

GLEE at Adam singing for 0.2 seconds (I’m desperate y’all), GLEE at Adam (maybe) being in Glee, GLEE at RedOne hugging Adam and that gorgeous Adam beaming smile, he’s so happy to be working on his music and it is so great to see!

I think the Glee rumor started from Glee castmates excitedly tweeting about Adam being at a Studio near them, including pictures of him. It must have ran from there.

So excited about the album! Really hope the first single comes out later this summer—November is such a long way off.

Also, it is great to see Adam just so relaxed and happy.

I know I’m an idiot and know nothing of recording contracts so this question is probably way off base but I have to ask. Why is there so much flack about these recordings Adam did before Idol? Didn’t David Cook and Carly Smithson have albums released before their Idol days? So what’s the big deal with this mess with Adam?

That poor guy. He’s dealt with so much controversy just because he entered a (as he put it) a singing contest. In his favor though….he is going to be a MAJOR star!!! I can’t wait to buy his first CD in the fall. Will not be buying any of Hi Fi’s attempts to cash in on Adam now that he is famous.

Even if it is rumor, rumor might just breed inspiration, because c’mon, it’s pretty inspired. I haven’t watched “Glee” yet, but heard it was off the hook. November sweeps would coincide with Adam’s album release unless (please God) it’s earlier … both are Fox owned or affiliated à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ it makes perfect sense. It’s a tease for future acting for Adam and a boon to “Glee.” Even if he does an under-five role, he’ll probably still kill the ratings (and they can promote the hell out of his album at every commercial and even do a tease of a music video à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ eek! I’m practically hyperventilating).

How awesome is it that we get to not only have new music, but music videos, talk show appearances, solo concerts in just a few short months?!?! (O.M.G.) Who the hell needs Christmas at that point?

Yup. And they actually authorized the albums. Matt Giraud had an old album on itunes too after the finale. Adam has the “larger than life” persona, so every little that happens to him becomes “larger than life” and the “end of the world” conspiracy theory too. As long as his fall album is good, I don’t see the problem either. I seriously don’t see this pre-idol album doing well anyways without much radio play and promotion by Adam.

stargirl, i think adam is (possibly) being paired with Glee because it is a perfect match given his history… NOT instead of kris or allison.

adam has a musical theater background and has talked repeatedly about being the “weird kid” in high school and how everyone should respect/embrace each others’ differences.

GLEE is a show about musical theater/show choir and the main tone of the show is about the “outsiders” succeeding and being respected. i love kris and allison too… if there was a tv show that fit their backgrounds like this i wouldn’t feel like adam was getting overlooked.

in conclusion, adam and glee = perfect match.

suebrody - they very well may release a track while still on tour – after all Archie’s “Crush” was released to radio stations on 8/1/08 and for sale on 8/12/08.

From this interview, it’s amazing more people don’t completely lose it when this level of pressure is placed upon them.

And about his dream of doing a film-version JCS with Adam? O.M.F.G. I would walk barefoot across the Gobi desert to see that. I’ve been praying that Adam would consider a role in “Jesus Christ Superstar,” most likely in a small, charity run, which would be EPIC without undermining his musical career. And whatever charity it’s for, fire up those spreadsheets! And a film version? Hadn’t even gone there.

I remember before the finale reading an article where all the Glee kids (especially Lea Michele) were raving about Adam.

If you look on the Upright Cabaret myspace, there are pics of Lea Michele performing there, pre her Glee job. I’m betting she at least knew of Adam from there, even if she didn’t know him personally. Not that people who don’t know him wouldn’t rave (obviously, we all do ), but just pointing out the connection there.

I loooooved the Glee premiere. Took me right back to my days in high school showchoir and all those fun memories. Looks like it’s going to be a fun show to watch, and I can’t wait until it starts. If Adam were to have a cameo, that would just be the icing on the cake for me, since I already love the show.

Oh yeah, I’ve been all over that, thanks! I said early on it was perfect for him and to hear it was his dream role à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ gratifying!! If he does anything in theater, he’s got to do that. But film? I hadn’t even imagined that. I loved the Norman Jewison version. A little ’60s/’70s, yes, but inspired for its time and it takes a page from “Hair,” which we know Adam adores.

Seriously, there are so many controversies about Adam right now, I don’t think a “ya’ll” or “nuttin” is all that serious. Maybe he was in a cutesy mood, maybe it’s a line or quote from some play he’s done before. Adam’s always been appreciative of his fans, so I’m going to take it for what it seems, no hidden messages.

Cindy, the songs I listed are Digital Glitter. But I think you’re right Pitman was Citizen Vein and those songs include The Circle and Rough Trade, both rocking awesome songs.

I’m a writer by trade and articulate as hell, but I do tend to slip into more slang-y vernacular when on twitter. So I think it’s no big whup.

who knows what kind of reaction madonna might have. i dont think this is that big of a deal. it might be good for her to be continued to be talked about as a “music icon” and a “dream duet”… seeing as how the rest of her life has overshadowed her music these days. and the last person she would blame would be adam… he has done nothing but gush about her.

i want to go back to the rumors of a missy elliot collaboration. that sounds like more fun to me. madonna and lady gaga are both in the dance/pop genre… Missy would bring a different vibe to the mix.

I definitely think it is Adam just being in a silly mood but at the same time, acknowledging his fans for being here. To me, the key words in his twitter are “no matter what.” i.e, most likely thanks y’all for sticking by me no matter what comes up, thanks for being there at all times. I think Adam is very proud that his fans are truly the best fans any artist could ever “Want!” :wub_tb:

Loved that little interview.

He and RedOne seem to have a good rapport – lots of respect going both ways by the looks of it – from the little we heard Adam ‘s voice is sounding great (no obvious signs of wear and tear from the season, the tour rehearsals, the recording etc.), and Adam looks REALLY good (happy, relaxed, somehow younger!).

I shall bask in that and pretend that all the HiFi nonsense isn’t happening. So there, Mr Hecker. :tongue2_tb:

Come Home is one of my all-time favorite Adam songs (he seems so touched by it at the end; I feel like he’s about to cry), along with Dust in the Wind, and my absolute favorite: his cover of Five for Fighting’s I Just Love You. If you have not heard that one, GO TO YOUTUBE AND LISTEN TO IT RIGHT NOW. It’s haunting. I admit that I’m a sap but I love Adam’s ballads and more heartfelt songs (e.g., Feeling Good, ACIGC, MW b/f it is became ubiquitous, RoF, etc.) than his rocker ones. Of course, I love all of them.

And don’t hate me, but…I downloaded What. *ducking* Why? I love his voice, I don’t think he is going to lose lot of money off that, I love that it is keeping him in the spotlight and I was jonesing for some more Adam. That’s why I bought the craptastic NB. What I *really* want/need/am lusting for is his first *real* release, which I think will be a RedOne collaboration and I expect to come out no later than 8/1.

Oh, and I do think that the above is an Adam tweet. He also tweeted about not having his guyliner tattooed. He is having fun with this, and yet won’t really speak to any *issues*. And unlike Matt G, I don’t think he has time to, say, go to Disney World, though Matt’s pictures and captions were really fun.

How can you *not* feel Adam’s emotions at the end of Come Home? Don’t you wish he had been able to sing that on Idol? *sigh* I had so wanted him to sing a couple of songs he had sung when he was with Upright Cabaret (like this one), and I hope they DO get released at some point if it’s possible…

I have no problem with “y’all” but one of my pet peeves is seeing it misspelled. It’s a contraction of you and all, thus it’s “y’all” not “ya’ll”.

But don’t feel too bad, Adam. SO and I even saw “y’all” misspelled on a sign at Dollywood!

I never realized it was there (well, I did, but I didn’t even think of it till I listened to it this morning and then of course remembered that Adam had sung it). It sounds more the way Kris would sing it, I think, stripped down like he did with songs like Heartless, I guess. I am not even sure how to describe it. But I thought you might be interested in it…

I hope the Glee thing is true, rather than just rumor. That would be awesome, not to mention, it does sound EXACTLY like what 19 would do for him (cross-promote with another Fox show – and in the fall, conveniently around when his album is set to drop.) And if he got to kick out some awesome vocals in the process…ahh!

I think Kristen is a little more reliable than Perez Hilton. Likely the Glee cameo is just a rumor. Though it doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

Archie appeared on Hannah Montana a few months ago. I have a 9 year old daughter lol.

I realize it is a southern slang, but since it is a (slang) contraction, it should be ya’ll, not y’all. But then again, maybe that’s how southerners spell it (y’all).

“Y’all” is the correct, or at least accepted, spelling.
