You misunderstood me. I meant Adam’s fanbase was more diversified in terms of its demographics.

I don’t think Adam’s fanbase is more diversified/demographics, and I would venture a guess, & say Archie’s fanbase was more diversified with tweens, teen, moms, dads & grandmas/granddads. He’s more “clean-cut” all American Boy kind of guy.

One thing for sure A.I. fanbase all feel their’s is the best but they go one step further than most music lovers, by searching anything about their “idol” & often dissing other good artists just to validate their own, spaming & bugging radio stations & voting for everything they find – any stupid little survey, contest, etc. , for hours on end, day after day & then they are proud “their” idol won something or other.

I thought NB was Kris’s first single. I must have missed the memo. It was played on radio, etc. wasn’t it.

The WINNER’S single is always played on radio. Kris’s first single was LLWD.

I voted VH1 to and I never heard or saw that either. That’s why I was kinda whatttt?

David’s peeps always told us only call an request in our area. So i only called here and I travel for competitions and I would call in if I was in another city that I listen to their station. But that is all.

It wasn’t his fault, but perhaps she did some harm. I am sure she encouraged many of his fans to do the same thing.

Longtime Archuleta fan who voted on VH1 when Crush was offered there — and I never heard that story despite having hung out on the various boards. So if the woman encouraged other fans to do the same, her efforts didn’t get too far.

Ha Ha I think Adam’s wins cause I don’t think David’s peeps ever got a “warning warning back off now” note. lol

And I take nothing away from Subo. She kicked everyone’s butt this year. That includes a lot of artists more established than Adam and a number of former Idols as well.

So, basically, Archie has a clueless fan who insults radio reps and Adam has an evangelizing one who approaches strangers on the street. It could be argued that Adam’s is slightly less toxic than Archie’s but, the fact is, they’re both a little nutty. Every fanbase has them. I think we’re all in agreement here.

I gotta say it again, David’s “DSB” was amazing. He can sing anything and sorry I don’t see a DJ talking that way about David. He is amazing and can sing anything. lol

One of Archie’s fans (about a year ago) posted a note on vh1 that she contacted a radio station & demanded to talk to someone “in charge” about the fact that they weren’t playing Archie’s song. That radio rep got so angry & then after trying to be diplomatic, (because she was being berated) came out and said that they think he sounds just like anyone else & didn’t think he had anything special to offer & even went so far as to tell this Archie fan that she can go to any HS musical & find tons of people better than him. So I guess there’s a lesson to learn, which she didn’t learn, because she blogged how she will continue to contact stations, etc. So I feel this fan didn’t do Archie any favors. It wasn’t his fault, but perhaps she did some harm. I am sure she encouraged many of his fans to do the same thing.

Actually, I think Adam’s fanbase is a little broader than Susan’s. lol.

I find that funny when she’s sold 3 million in the U.S. and more in the world compared to his 417,000 more or less. All those sales can’t be written off as gifts and souvenirs. Not saying they are all rabid fans, but clearly she has a lot of fans of her singing and her story. I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of them would show up on Oprah too. Adam isn’t the only singer who has fans.

I agree. Not everyone watches A.I. & really don’t know who he is. Even if they watched some of the shows he was on, they still wouldn’t know him nor care. SoBo is not the kind of person who would have “rabid” fans not like A.I. fans have been known to be, certainly not here in the U.S. I also doubt folks call in radio stations either.

As far as Adam having a wider fanbase, I doubt that every much. SoBo was a sensation on YouTube & in total has about 100 million hits on there. After she became the YouTube / Internet sensation, she was interviewed a number of time. Her sales have hit a record not seen in decades just in the US alone. Her fans aren’t rabid & some might have purchased a couple as gifts, but not to the extent I am sure that Adam’s fans have. One of Adam’s fans bought 47 CDs, took a picture of them & posted it on the internet, noting that she approaches people on the street/in stores & mentions Adam to them & if they don’t know him, she hands out a CD for free saying to listen to it, she/he will be amazed & to spread the word! Now that is dedication. Yes, that’s one incident but since he sold something like 417K or so compared to 3M of Susan Boyle, I think people are talking more about SoBo & still buying her album. In this grin week of sales, she is still #1, selling 131,330 & 50K more than #2.

The Black Eyed Peas recently performed on Oprah. Their album and single sales went up.

Beyonce and alot of stars go on there for one reason, and it isn’t radio, its SALES!

Yep, sales are sales. Not many artists would pass on the opportunity to be on Oprah.

And my local Tower Records store called me on Friday to say they finally got FYE and asked if I wanted them to save me one. I figured I didn’t need it to be saved, because I would come immediately on Sunday (the beginning of the week here), but decided not to take the chance- and tis a good thing- because when I came on Sunday – THERE WERE NO COPIES LEFT!!!

mr., where exactly are you located? Tower Records went out of business and closed all their U.S. locations in 2006. They still have an online presence but no retail stores in the U.S. And since his CD hasn’t been released internationally yet, i’m curious.
