A correspondent from Jimmy Kimmel Live was set loose on the red carpet before the Michael Jackson documentary, This is It, premiered Tuesday night in LA.   It’s pretty hilarious.

He interviewed Adam Lambert and David Cook, and you can spot Nigel Lythgoe in one of the shots. Enjoy!

Is it wrong for me to say that I thought this was funny?

  • 4evrmomof4

I have to say, no matter how ridiculous the interview, Adam is always sweet and gracious. All kinds of dirty thought, though, come to mind about ‘wearing Adam.’ must.stop.thinking.about.this.am.at.work….

  • 4evrmomof4

    I like this:

trevorthomas I really respect @adamlambert for taking chances! Check out this photo-shoot: http://j.mp/4qjSRo I really hope the record is as wild!! 3 minutes ago from web

  • Squirrely

Adam is scrumptious – I want to smack that tushie too.

David was looking sexy body wise, although his beard in no way resembled peanut butter, he did seem a bit scraggly from the neck up.

  • 123abc456

I thought this was funny and David and Adam were good sports about it.

  • suebrody

I didn’t like the interviewer at ALL. He was so snarky. Adam and David handled it with their usual aplomb, however. (I am wearing Adam. Hysterical.) Adam looked HOT and Cook was as adorable as always (except the comb over, which I blame on fatigue and the wind ;) )

  • suebrody

James Dean!Adam. One of my favorite looks.

  • heartforadam

Adam just looked so confident and happy being interview on the Red Carpet that evening. Wonder how many media outlets he gave interviews to. I also like the ramdom “Adam.., Adam….,” from the bystanders.

  • Squirrely

Is it wrong for me to say that I thought this was funny?

I didn’t watch much after David and Adam, but I did find the 90210 guys reaction to the funeral comment funny.

I kind get what the guy was doing – to much hoopla around MJ’s death.

  • 123abc456

How can you look at his hair when he looks this good? http://i37.tinypic.com/25k1n3q.jpg

It took me a while to make it to the hair, lol. They both handle themselves very well, I think. No matter how silly things get, lol.

  • zzatrms

Someone needs to market a perfume called Adam.

  • Truthiness

I thought both Adam and David were being very gracious and quick, so good on them. The interviewer was of course obnoxious, but that’s the point. And I did think he was occasionally funny, though mostly obnoxious.

I really dig David and Adam both, so I’m glad I got to see them both and both looked pretty good, some respective hair issues aside.

  • jill16

Adam is adorable, as always. He’s carrying a box of Dots candy, a fan must have given it to him.

  • gingerly

I actually had to go back and rewatch to notice David’s hair in the video. I guess I was focused on the smile…Both David and Adam are great sports and Larry Birkhead was hilarious with his “I got a new zit today.”

  • glamatheart

Love Adam and David! They always handle themselves so well. Personality wise, they are my two favorite Idols ever along with Kelly. I didn’t find the rest of it very funny – I thought the guy from Kimmel was pretty annoying.

  • BeckyMD

Adam is adorable, as always. He’s carrying a box of Dots candy, a fan must have given it to him.

Good eye!! He’s natural for commodity ads – holding the product with a right angle to the camera so that the front-face with name is showing…

I didn’t like the interviewer at ALL. He was so snarky.

But that’s the point. This guy isn’t a real interviewer or “correspondent.” He’s a comedian the Kimmel show sent out to this event to basically lampoon it. I, must admit, I laughed pretty hard at one comment the guy made that was pretty tasteless. Just couldn’t help myself. I’m almost embarrassed to admit which one. But, it involved the part with that guy — dressed kind of like Michael — in the still from the video at the top of the thread. Heh.

  • LindaT

Very funny! It reminds me of “Triumph the Insult Dog” on Conan — very snarky and un-PC, but still hilarious. Makes you laugh and squirm at the same time (“Will this be better than the funeral?”)

Kudos to Adam and David for their poise and for playing along with the “interviewer”. Good sports!

Please tell me this isn’t the only piece of Adam on Oprah. It’s so short. And it just…ends. Still, Emo Hair!Adam. Who looks like he just got out of bed. ;) But hey, he’ll probably be on again, and it looks like Ellen booked him for the end of November/December, so YIPPIE!

I didn’t like the interview b/c I thought this was a relatively serious occasion, and this didn’t seem (to me) to be the time to be so snarky. JMHO. However, I loved him w/ the impersonator at the end, who kept pushing him away. I also liked the PYT chant in the theater. :)

Oh, well. It was another chance to see Adam and David, so I am happy (not much from the Utstream or anything, really, on the Red Carpet).

  • Q3

    Love the Adam-Oprah video.

    Also from http://www.oprah.com/media/20091016-tows-adam-lambert

We asked which reality TV star you most wanted to see on The Oprah Show, and American Idol’s Adam Lambert came in number one! Adam opens up about Idol, his new album and what it’s like to become a rock star.

The Adam segment is reported to be 5 minutes long — this is only 2 minutes and cuts off abruptly at the end. So unless all the Adam fans who where in the audience can’t tell time, there is about 3 minutes more. I don’t think they would put the whole thing online early.

  • sma11ie

I haven’t been watching Jimmy Kimmel ever since NBC turned into the Conan-Fallon one-two bunch (love them). What happened to Guillermo? This guy was obnoxious but I gotta say mostly hilarious– I definitely laughed at the inappropriateness of his comments– but I really enjoyed Guillermo hehe.

Have you guys seen DC & TA live? I saw them once, back in April. I get to go again in a couple weeks! EEEEEEEEEEK. *flails*squeeeeeees*thuds*

And I will so go see the amazing, compelling Adam if he plays close to where I live. I guess I’m willing to travel to see the truck driver with the peanut butter beard (“thank you”….LOLz!) but for some reason the Glittery Alien doesn’t have quite the same hold on me. Hmmmmmmm. I bet if I saw him LIVE, he might. He just might.

For now though…yes, the rough truck driver one with the peanut butter beard, the college degree, the guitars, the voice, minimal makeup when required who cries when he feels like it in front of millions of people. He’ll do.

  • katymac

Uhm, Adam is just right? I guess he would be if you’re a man, or asexual or a pre-pubescent girl not looking for any trouble. If you’re a red-blooded woman, the rough, college educated one will do just fine.

Oh well and here I thought I was an adult female who realized that both men are about equally attainable to me, that is to say not at all. And I happen to like both men for their respective talents and looks. Despite whatever unfortunate things with respective hair and bellies might be going on at the time. Personally I think it’s all good. Different strokes for different folks and what is just right for one person, clearly isn’t for another, and that’s as it should be.

Otherwise we’d all be wrasslin’ for the same tickets, magazine covers, albums or whatever, and that wouldn’t be good. So vive la diffrence!

  • claudette

Hee. Shouldn’t have laughed, but it was funny. Cook and Adam remind me somewhat of each other. They are both great with interviewers and comfortable with being themselves. I thought both looked super cute.

Adam is intelligent and has a fairly broad degree in life, so I’m not going to mark down his grade due to the lack of paper (and attendant debt.) :-) Not to mention, he rarely misuses words. (Sorry Cookie but you are quite the master of the malpropism. It’s part of your charm. Hee)

Yes, I’ve seen them five times – hee! Last two shows were fabulous, I am in withdrawal currently.

  • kathrynTX

Awwww poor poor tierbee! Cook withdrawal is wicked. Heh. Wicked. Adam was in Wicked. BUT so HAPPEEEE you have seen them 5 times! I’ve been recovering from a &*$##*(& broken kneecap since MAY, so I couldn’t travel to any shows! But I’m better now and bought tix to the gen admin show standing room only I DON’T CARE! I couldn’t sit at home knowing they were just down the road.

SOOO I finally got to watch the Kimmel vid. BWHAHAHAHAHHA! Adam is a doll. The guy from Kimmel is an idiot. I laughed at all the wrong/right places! Mr. Cook and his peanut butter beard…love you, boy-o! Yep, that doctor comment took me by surprise and I did LOL!

INNYWHO. What’s this about being a “red-blooded” woman and there’s something wrong with me if I find Adam attractive? I think you meant to add “straight” to that, at the very least. I find him very sexy and attractive, whatever HIS preferences. I’ve got mine too! I’m a red-blooded woman. Adam is SMOKIN’! I’d kiss him in a second! haha there I go, fantasizing again. Ah well.

As for Cook and his hair and his belly and his beard…whatevah. The man is terribly, terminally, crazy attractive. IMHO.

Yes, I’ve seen them live. (whispers “more than 5 times”)

And 3 times was from the front row. Ah … still speechless.

And I talked to Neal, Joey, Andy, Kyle, & David and got Dave hugs (several), and when Monty joined also talked to him and a pic with dip ‘n dots. All of them are very cool dudes.

This, my dear kathrynTX, is the understatement of the year.

This poster still in a trance from the “aura” that is David Cook.

  • fearbear

Of course the beauty is always in the eye of the beholder but I appreciate that Adam always takes the effort to look good, to look like a star. I like my stars to look like stars and Adam definitely looks like one. Cook looks like a slob, especially in that premiere, just yuck all over.

  • wellhesback

See it really is in the eye of the beholder because to me Lambert’s hair looked just awful and his clothes looked ill fitting. And I think Cookie looked great. Good thing everybody likes different things.

Oh and wordnerdarchie – I’ve been lucky enough to see David Cook & his band in concert twice this year, but I didn’t “meet” them. I’m so jealous.

  • fearbear

^^Yeah, to each his/her own. And if you really think Cook’s hair looked good in that event then there’s nothing much we can agree on definitely because that was just really bad even by his usually ick standards, LOL.

  • wordnerdarchie

Many people have bad hair days, especially when it’s windy. That still doesn’t detract from the rest of the “eye candy”. And I like me some sweet cookie. Yum.

Gah! Lucky you! The best I got was 3rd row but I did get to meet David and hug him which was pretty effing cool.

And if you really think Cook’s hair looked good in that event then there’s nothing much we can agree on definitely

LOL, I think it is clear that you won’t have much to agree with when it comes to David’s fan since you don’t like how he looks or his music… that doesn’t leave much common ground (unless you like Oreos?) To each his or her own. Your slob is my hot looking rock star :) … I don’t usually even notice the hair, I don’t make it past arms/smile/eyes. (BTW, I think Adam is cute… but I do think his hair at the premier was bad in its own right – much like a small furry animal was deposited on top of his noggin)

I like my stars to look like stars…

Personally, I like when artists I admire stay true to themselves, in whatever incarnation that takes. And usually, that makes them more attractive to me.

Adam’s do was a little too mon chi chi at that This Is It event, but I expect him to experiment and change it up so whatevs. The sparkly chameleon thing suits him. He seems to have fun with his look, which makes him hella fun to watch.

Cookie, OTOH, is more of a minimum fuss jeans and t shirt kinda guy, which is fine by me. He was having an epically bad hair day coupled with an unfortunate choice in new haircolor at the MJ event, but he looked pretty damn sexy from the eyebrows down. Anyway, he usually cleans up well (with a little help from a stylist) when it’s appropriate to the event. To be honest, though, I don’t think he’s ever looked hotter than he did in a plain ol black t shirt (from the Gap I think LOL), jeans, and bare feet, guitar slung on his hip, hair all bedhead-ish and messy, belting out my favorite song at the concert in Searcy. Seriously, I love these two concert vids so crazy hard. I wish I was there. That’ll do, rocker boi. That’ll do.

Have you guys seen DC & TA live? I saw them once, back in April. I get to go again in a couple weeks! EEEEEEEEEEK. *flails*squeeeeeees*thuds*

Can I join you in that *flail*squeeee*thud*? I just got tickets for my second concert toooooo. FINALLY we meet again, Mr. Peanut Butter Beard and band that I adore. November is gonna be a LONG month.

To each his/her own, exactly. Okay good to know, he’s still a slob to me.

Personally, I like when artists I admire stay true to themselves, in whatever incarnation that takes. And usually, that makes them more attractive to me.

It’s great if they stay true to themselves of course. But does staying true to oneself mean not washing and combing your hair before coming to an important movie premiere? Unless your true self is a slob then I guess it is. Looking like a star is different from acting like a star/diva – it doesn’t mean you’re changing your true self if you take the effort to look nice for a movie premiere, true self is on the inside.

Well, I only started watching AI and reading this blog because of Adam, so I may be a little biased, but this straight red-blooded (what does that mean, anyway?) girl would prefer Adam in my fanatasies over anyone else at this point in my life… but yeah, I also understand those who aren’t attracted. NGL, the first time I saw him, right before he sang “Satisfaction”, I was all snickery and thinking “whoa- this guy with all the makeup and blow dried hair, who is absolutely sooooo gay (yes I am ashamed to admit that I was being steriotypical…bad me!) thinks he can pull off a Mick Jagger? Yeah right!” And then he opened his mouth, and since then he’s become the sexiest person alive in my eyes!
So attraction is a funny thing, and can come from different reasons!

ROTFLMAO sick with the SWINE FLU. Was that a Babe reference, sunchick , or am I hallucinating??

And for the record, I think Adam is great looking, but I hate all the shit he wears on his face. I prefer my stars to look genuine and natural. And above the age of consent. (I think some of Archie’s fans who love his “clean” and “non-slob” looks are going to be very upset when he finally declares which team he plays for.)

And I’m not even gonna comment on Cook’s hair because these latest shots just confirm my earlier criticism, but aside from his hair, I think he looks great here. He clearly just jumped out of the shower and/or off a plane, but at least he was’t a no-show because he was having a bad hair day!

Cook looked like a star to me…but more like a movie star. For a guy that means that he took the effort but didn’t go overboard. I agree with Sunchick’s post. But then again, I’ve always liked the guys who wear less foundation than my mom and I don’t think that will ever change.

Def a Babe reference, BootStar. ;)

But does staying true to oneself mean not washing and combing your hair before coming to an important movie premiere?

That particular event is an exception. He had a wicked schedule, came right off the plane from EM:HE, and appears to kinda suck at doing his own hair unless he has a really good haircut (see video above as an example of a really great haircut.) Some stylist recently did him very wrong going too solidly dark and too short all over without trimming the locktopus bangs. It was crazy windy. He overcompensated with product. The bangs work better when it’s longer and spikier all over. Highlights and lowlights add texture and help too. Blah blah blah… Bad hair cuts/color happen to everyone, even stars, even Mon Chi Chi! Adam, hair grows. The rest of the movie premiere look is perfect. The point is, you have indicated that David never looks good, always looks “dirty” or whatever, and as such could never look like a star. I said that David usually looks his best for big PR moments, and I wouldn’t want him or expect him to glam himself up like Adam every time he steps out of the house because it doesn’t suit his persona. Jeans/tees/plaid David is often even hotter for me for you anyway. When he’s on the road in between haircuts he wears hats. They look good on him. Whatevs.

That particular event is an exception.

Exception to what? I was only referring to what you said about artists staying true to themselves – I was just saying that looking like a star doesn’t necessarily equate to not being true to yourself.

Fearbear, seriously, nothing personal, but I no longer feel like I’m having a worthwhile discussion when you respond to one sentence out of context rather than the entire collection of thoughts contained in a longer post. It’s the good stuff inside the giant skull with the occasionally questionable hair that really counts anyway, so I’m gonna leave it at that.
