He has a new song, debuted on ESPN2 tonite in a montage. It was one of the ones we got snippets of a few weeks back, but this is the whole song.

Anyhew, Adam looks much better here, and he and Katy make a cute couple. Yes I know they’re friends, doesn’t mean you can’t look cute togther. Not sold 100% on Adam’s hair, but am okay with the all black outfit and the degree of formality he had. It was not too formal and went very well with Katy’s look, the degree of formality she had and of course, the colour.

I caught the TII Live Streem and saw the interviews on the Red Carpet with Katy Perry and then Adam Lambert (and then David Cook).

First the Interviewer talked to Katy and she really plugged Adam’s Album right off the bat, said she was there because she came with Adam and then she spoke about admiring Michael Jackson’s contributions to music, live shows, etc.

Second the Interviewer asked Adam some great questions – He never mentioned American Idol at all and only asked about Adam Style in relation to Michael Jackson’s and how his hair is always different/great…and led the way specifically requesting when the album will come out.
Adam said very nice, intelligent things about Michael Jackson. Very comfortable out there.

Then…David Cook comes on and right away it’s ‘David from American idol” ¦

Big Difference in the way he treated David and Adam.

The red carpet interviews with Adam and Dave that aired on MTV and VH1 both included American Idol references (they asked Adam about his Black or White performance, and Cook about Billie Jean).

Waiting for a high res recording to show up, but for now here is a ghetto-style ESPN baseball montage with the new song (One Second to Change Your Life). The ESPN anchor said that Cook and his band tracked the song last night and shipped it over to ESPN for use in the montage. At the end they mention that the song was written about a professional athlete, but didn’t give details.

Adam looked gorgeous and so articulate in the interviews.

I saw both streams and both mentioned them being idols when they appeared. But they didn’t ask them about idol in those, I think the questions were about how MJ inspired them. And in another Cook one the guy asked him about being a new artist and his tour. Not many questions, but still good to see them.
Oh, and the interviewer asked David about being new in the industry and how his life had changed and getting those mics on his face, and he said he didn’t mind, if he didn’t want it he wouldn’t have signed up to this. LOL Which reminded me of the discussion we were having today.

He was taping Carrie’s Holiday Special last Friday(?) night, flew out to Indiana the same night for the EM:HE auction, helped freaking build a house on Sunday (looking good in a hard hat, I might add), flew to Kansas City for the Springsteen concert yesterday (we thought), somehow fit in time to track a song to send to ESPN, flew back to Indiana today for the house reveal and to meet the family, and then flew to LA this afternoon (with acrobatic airplane landing) for the TII premiere.

Glad he got this break from the tour so he could rest up.

But hey, Cook produced that in short order specifically for this, so not on the album, good! I want to like David Cook’s music as much as I like him, thus far this isn’t happening after AI, but I have hope still!

I am not going to get into who said what when where. I will just say that Adam and Katy (Kadam) make a very cute couple–she could not have been more complimentary of Adam–and it was great to see Cook as well (loved the way his hair and his scarf blew in the wind). And THIS is the Adam I love so very much. Classy and handsome, as Paula would say. Scruffy hair (but purposely), no make up (or little), black jacket and TIE (yummy). Quite the contrast between this and the movie cover (but that has its own thread. ha ha ha.)

VAlilac, I also said that in the last thread that it must have been very surreal for Adam. Boy has his life changed in the past six months. I can’t even imagine…how exciting.

It’s a song that didn’t make the cut for the album.

Hair aside (not that I have that much of a problem with it lol) I like Cook’s look. I don’t remember him wearing a scarf before, and it looks great there with the shirt.

I believe this was a discard from the first album. We heard a snippet of this song a number of weeks ago when his publishing company (Cherry Lane) accidentally posted the songs (30s snippets) on their website and promptly pulled them again on the same day. Cherry Lane licenses their artists’ songs on TV programs, commercials and the like, so the speculation is that DC’s song ending up on ESPN is Cherry Lane’s doing. But that’s only speculation.

Adam had a WeHo boy time and through things like Wicked, Upright Caberet and Zodiac, he has like one degree of separation to a ton of famous people. Katy though was closer to Adam than others, kind of friends of friends thought, but not real friends like Alisan or Danielle have been for Adam. No stink because why would there be? Yes, Katy stupidly put Adam’s name on her cape, but he didn’t know she was going to do that and had nothing to do with it. And she was musical guest star, not a judge.

More currently and importanly, they looked really good together, I thought. The matching black hair and blue eyes and all black outfits, I approve.

In one of the interviews Adam did at the beginning of AI, he only said he’d met Katy a couple of times through some mutual friends. But I think they’ve only gotten to know each other better and become friends themselves since AI ended; he’s said he texts her for advice a lot.

Cook won American Idol and got a lot of recognition for his idol performance of Billie Jean….more than any other idol who has performed a Michael Jackson song. Not really surprised about the idol reference.

Same here. I liked the song’s opening and I thought his voice was just golden in the beginning, but after that it sort of went nowhere (he has much better songs on DCTR and Analog heart, IMO). This kind of song isn’t Cook’s usual theme but it works well with the montage, so maybe he wrote it specifically for that. And I just love the fact, that he gets so much ESPN love!

They look gorgeous together! I love the support they have for each other. One of my favorite suprises on AI was when she had the name “Adam Lambert” printed on her cape. It was validation that Adam was amazingly talented and admired by others in the business.

All of the photos of Adam and Katy are beautiful!!!! He does love his women.

I’m missing all the rubber bracelets on David’s wrist. And I wish he had a date to this thing. A picture with Katy Perry, or even Adam, would have also been nice. But bottom line – David was hot on the red carpet tonight! He was looking very stylish and confident!

I wonder if Adam helped Katy put her eye makeup on, it looked real good. After seeing Adam in the red carpet shots, and looking back again at the Album cover, I like it more and more. Its just one style of Adam, something different we have never seen him look like. Always a surprise, I just love the cover, cant stop looking at it. Maybe thats why he used it, you know, getting people to stare at it, and suck them in.

Aww, with David’s schedule the past couple days I have to give him a *little* bit of a hair pass even though it makes me giggle a little. But honest it took me a while to make it that far north because I was distracted by chest, scarf, lips, ridiculous skin… then I get to the ol’ hair blowing in the wind. He does look so confident and relaxed; I like. Adam & Katy look great together, they do kinda look sibling-ish. Adam looks a little tangerine-y but otherwise cute. Which yeah, if Adam decides he wants kids, and if he decides to have them biologically, that will be interesting with his hair colour of choice and his possible baby’s natural hair colour. Of course genetically I always found it interesting that Adam had ginger hair, which is one of the most recessive hair colours, from his father when his mother has dark hair, dark hair being dominant. Ahh hair, what a continuing source of interest your non-simple dominance is. Ohh Oxford and hypotheses’s about red hair? I’m so there!

I don’t think anyone knows if they showed it before this premier or not. We’ve heard that it would be shown before the TII movie in theaters. They may not have shown it for this event though. Since it was the LA premiere, they may have done a special intro without trailers.

We probably won’t know either way until the morning news cycle.

Exactly, which is probably why he isn’t wearing a rug. It’s just his own hair. I find it interesting that so many people are so obsessed with his hair (fans and non-fans). I’m guessing that Cook probably just shakes his head over all the hair angst. This is a guy who grew up around a brother who suffered from real hair loss due a serious medical condition. That probably puts a lot of things in perspective for him.

Idol related, in the print article they mention David and Adam being there and they quote David and Paula’s tweets about the movie.

Katy Perry isn’t quite as pretty as I thought. That close-up of Adam isn’t too cool either. LOL David Cook has been dealing with his hair issues for years now. I remember seeing a KC TV video of David Cook during the Idol tryouts. David had the mic and was singing LOAP. The wind was kicking up and I nearly went into shock. The hair on the right side of his head blew back and he was nearly bald. My love for Cook’s voice was strong so once I recovered from the sight, I was fine about it. The show’s hair stylists worked wonders. Windy days still give me concern for DC. But he’s still a good-looking guy with phenomenal skin and a terrific smile.

Oh, and to Truthiness, I have very dark brown hair, nearly black. My husband is of Polish descent and was very blond as a boy. My son and daughter were both tow-heads. I have brown eyes. My husband has blue. My daughter is a blue-eyed blonde. The recessive gene came through big time. lol

Thanks for the pics. At the time of Michael Jackson’s death, DC’s version of Billie Jean got a number of spins—nowhere near enough to chart anywhere, but a noticeable amount. It’s great that people still remember it, over a year later.

I don’t like that orange look people in Hwood go for. But maybe it looks normal to them because everyone else looks the same? And from going to JustJared and looking at all the HQ photos you can tell when people are wearing like tons of makeup and you can see all their flaws.

Does anyone know if the Time for Miracles video aired, or is that only for the theatrical release? TFM was #75 on iTunes immediately before the red carpet show. Now it’s down to #84. The downward pressure is certainly the result of new music Tuesday releases, but if the song was part of the premiere and got press coverage, we should start to see it fighting its way upstream soon.

Aw, no worries fearbear. Just joking with you. Cook’s never going to be a fashion plate and I’m sure he’s totally fine with leaving that to the people who are into it. As to the music, we all like what we like. Liking one musician doesn’t take anything away from another musician, IMO.

I just got home from the private viewing of “This is It” earlier tonight at the Regal Theatre in NYC. There were simultaneous viewings of MJ’s movie around the world. We were watching the red carpet events/interviews in NYC, although our view was of one woman interviewing.

TFM was not shown before the movie tonight, nor were any 2012 trailers. Ortega announced the movie, then there was the standard legal warning about not copying, etc., then the movie started.

The movie was an awesome documentary of MJ’s work. He was definitely in good enough shape to dance right along with the principle dancers. His voice sounded strong in parts too – in others he said he was trying to save his throat, and was a bit weaker. The production was incredible. The most memorable parts of the movie for me were his interactions with the crew – very caring, loving yet firm and demanding so the result was perfect. What an awesome man.

BTW – Adam’s hair looked a complete, frizzy wreck on the massive screen we were watching. IDK what happened to it. His hair usually looks good. He also had not much makeup on, which was a different and nice look for him (if it weren’t for the frizzy hair!).

Paula looked gorgeous.

I don’t know, that’s what I was asking. I thought it was supposed to be aired at the premiere, but maybe I got that wrong? Can anyone clarify if the video aired tonight, or is it not going to be screened until the film is in general release?

I didn’t think so, but I guess I’m not sure. Ortega announced the movie was being shown simultaneously in 15 places around the world – various countries, and NYC and LA. On the live feed from LA we saw only the Nokia Theatre – no others – and I didn’t see Danny on any of the interviews. I know several movie theatres started showing the movie just after it finished with the premier, so maybe he went later??? Now you have me curious too, girlygirl!

Admitting I know nothin ’bout nothin here, but I’m guessing that Adam, David, and the other celebs were invited to be part of the premiere as in “walking the red carpet & being interviewed.” Probably also included special seats, etc.

The Nokia is a huge venue and there were probably plenty of other folks who garnered tickes, like Danny and friends, who didn’t walk the red carpet.

My guess is they were all at the same event, but I’m sure we’ll find out from reliable sources soon enough.

Agree totally with this. It would have been a mistake and even in poor taste (maybe) to advertise a big-budget disaster flick that had nothing to do w/ MJ, at this premiere.

Good point! The red carpet activities started at around 7:30 p.m. EST (we were watching the live feed in NYC), and ended just before 9:00 p.m., so certainly not enough time for everyone to be interviewed/photographed on the red carpet. I didn’t see Ryan Seacrest, but I did see Cory Monteith and Kevin McHale from Glee (yay!), along with Paula, David Cook and Adam.

Since everyone is talking about David Cook’s hair, I would like to clear up one thing. I was in the front row at the Lancaster concert, just feet away from David Cook. The wind was very strong, blowing every which way and definitely blowing his hair back away from his face. He has plenty of hair! It is just very fine and tends to clump together when wet or too much product is used.

For the red carpet, I wish they would have just washed and blow dried it and let it blow in the wind, if they had time. It was very handsome in Lancaster, all fluffy and windblown. You could see his hairline, he has a high forehead but his hairline has not receded all that much. Again the wind blew his hair every which way and he looked beautiful as the pictures prove. Trying to sort of stick it down makes it look less than it is.

So it was a 29-second trailer with Adam singing? Or a slightly extended trailer with more than just a chorus? Looks like TFM is going to disappear into the ether, unless enough people stay for the credits after Nov. 13 and care. At least the mv is prominent on the actual movie website. Sigh.

yep, no adam on screen. the trailer was a little bit different than the very first one that leaked. adam sounded great in surround sound but it was honestly so fast that i doubt it really registered with people that it was him. it did say at the end “Time for Miracles performed by Adam Lambert” which was kinda neat to see on the big screen… but disappointing that we didnt get the video.

i agree sidewalkstory, it was very intriguing. i loved hearing all of the songs and the stage production that went into some of them was absolutely stunning. it would have been an epic concert. i was also surprised at how funny parts of it were. MJ was QUITE the perfectionist!

Oh, the funniest part of the movie – they had a Bandzilla moment and MJ complained that the earpiece was so loud it felt like someone put their fist in his ear.

Reminded me of when Adam took out his earpiece.

And Dorian Holley was Michael’s vocal coach. He is the same coach that Adam got to work with during Idol. (Dorian was in the movie.)

yeah he did a bit, but i thought that was one of the funnier elements. i LOVED when he was going up for a test ride on the cherry picker and he kept yelling at him to HOLD ON FOR SAFETY.

oh and every time MJ said “this is why we rehearse” or “it’s all in love” or stopped to correct someone on some intsy minor detail. it was great. no one can argue that MJ had a vision and was meticulous when it came to executing that vision.

Finn, there was only a short clip of the movie trailer with bits of Adam singing, no Adam. What little you heard of his singing sounded amazing on the big screen though. I don’t think there was even 1 minute of the movie trailer. Adam sounded especially awesome at the very end of the trailer, all 10 seconds of him. haha. I thought they’d at least show a glimpse of his face.
Otherwise the movie TII was very enjoyable. Excellent choreography. Michael sure was the “king” of pop. Would have been an incredible show. Sorry there were no clips of a full dress rehearsal. What a great loss of a truly wonderful performer. Adam’s peeps should try to get ahold of a couple of Michael’s backup singers and dancers for his concerts. Those guys and gals are fabulous, including that female guitarist Orianthi. His female backup singer Judith Hill is great. She sang at his funeral.

Just got back from seeing MJ’s movie! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It is a must see movie on the big screen. My theatre totally messed up all the previews so we didn’t see any clips! BUT, MJ was fantastic! Don’t miss it. Disappointed in not seeing ADam but MJ was an entertaining genius. Puts the “wierd” comments into perspective. He was AMAZING!

Ok its going back to the hair lol .I didnt like Adams or David Cook, But for David Cook its to much hair product makes his hair flat no body,and bad hair cut,and too dark of color,and bangs too long.With his fine hair he needs stiff hard, dry products.Or just washed really clean with nothing on it not even conditoner.
Adams to spikey and pointed everywhere too much,maybe too short for him.,and didnt like the pointed thinner cut bangs.Hanging straight down his forhead His old hair cut and stlye much better,So he needs to let it grow out .but Adam’s hair was the dry look ,what David Cook needed, I wish i could get at David’s hair.I could make it look really good. I thought the pictures of Adam and Katy were stunning, especially the one MJ has on the blog entry. I agree that Adam can look a bit artificial in some photos but overall I think he comes of very handsome.

As for Cook, I don’t really see why the hair matters so much. He is a musician, not a model. Usually what strikes me in pictures of Cook is his eyes, they always look very kind.

David Cook looked great on the red carpet, first time I’ve seen him in that kind of shirt and with a scarf, he looks sexy and suave. His hair looks fine in the tv interviews, he looks very handsome and happy.

Man o man – Adam and Katy, what a whole lotta pretty and Cook looked very nice, just more windblown than the other two but still nice. Cannot Wait to see this movie!

Danny was at the premiere but didn’t walk the red carpet. Danny was in LA for the new Sophia’s Heart Youth Center at the LA Dream Center. He sang at the media event at LA Dream Center and then hung around with Jason Kennedy from E. Looks like he ended up at the MJ premiere and also a madona charity event.

Seems like for last night’s premiere showing, there was introduction by Kenny Ortega and red carpet shots instead of real previews and extended trailers? I guess we’ll see after today’s regular showings.

OK – so definitely disappointed at the lack of TFM presence before TII. Now, why on earth did they spend the time and money (at least some of it) to actually create the mv? I don’t get it. Just to show it online on myspace? I don’t imagine it’s gonna be sent to MTV or VH1 (if they still show vids). I just don’t get it.

Ok, I just watched the ustream and livestream vids, and I have to take back what I said a little bit about DC’s hair based on the photos. The locktopus looks pretty tragic in the still photos, but watching the vids, not so bad! He looked so good overall that I wasn’t distracted by the hair at all. Of course, he snarked on it a little himself, saying something about everyone trying to hold their hair down or whatever in reference to the wind, in that charming/self-deprecating way, but seriously, when you see the video, it’s not nearly as bad as in the photos. Those darn photos though!!

I’m not a fan of the ugly snakeskin boots either. Much preferred the iconic Elf Boots from last year. And, of course, the yet unphotographed unlaced boots from the Carrie taping.

Kyle & Andy have super tight pantz, too. Only Monty & David resist. Now, I did get a show with dressed up Dave in gray dress pants that were thigh-clingy and that was nice. But everyone else has quite the show of thighs. Hee!

See what you did? I tried to behave about all the manly thighs on display at my last two shows and now… well, now I have to mention them. (BTW, Ryan Star also had on very tight pantz).
