American Idol season 8 alum, Adam Lambert is in the midst of an overseas tour. While in Hong Kong a few days ago, he debuted a brand new cover, “Shout” by Tears for Fears.

The singer famously covered another Tears For Fears tune–”Mad World” on American Idol when he competed in 2009. It was Adam’s ballady Gary Jules cover of the tune that secured his place as a contender in the race.

Next up: Adam arrived in Singapore today for a March 8 concert in the Southeast Asian country.

Watch the performance after the jump.

Thanks for sharing your experience, HKFan:)
    Such a great night!

The top that he wore was a Chinese bra.LOL

Definitely cheese – but must say – on the album version – the end of the song – just unreal.

I’m hoping we get the whole song one day, because the second half of it is fantastic.

I admit I was a little worried when Tommy took over for monte. He’s quieter and less of a show man but he backs Adam well. I forget that he is a good musician.

I am not sure I like Adam on this song. I think e sang it a little to high.

Oh my, after watching this again I am so loving it. Adam gave the song a completely different vibe than TFF. I mean this was soooo sexy. I love his voice in this lower, rockier tone as much as his tender tenor. He is such a sexy beast, thanks for posting this great vid!

HKfan! So happy you got to go and had a wonderful time. Thanks so much for the recap! I had also read that the crowd was about 3500. From what I’ve seen it looks like everyone was so responsive and knew the songs. Lucky!

I agree, it had a different vibe to it and as with most of the songs he performs, with every gig, they just keep getting better.

gah… lucky girl… I can imagine Adam enjoying the nightlife in Singapore… have a late breakfast afterwards, then checking out and setting up the venue… and then the concert in the evening…

HKfan … Great recap.  Thank you very much.

    Tomorrow is the Singapore Concert.
I’m excited, nervous, anxious and worried.

I know Adam will be fine.  He is getting better and better every concert. Imagine …  the last one in Finland with Sauli there.

He is going to blow the roof off.

  • lovetheusa1776

Agree – like the tougher, slightly nastier, take on the song – perfect lyrics for him (“you shouldn’t have to sell your soul,” “kiss them goodbye”) – he definitely let it all out in Shout.  Sexy is damn right.

    Very blah

    Enjoy asif:)
I’m seriously regretting not coming over there too now…..

Just remember to breathe and enjoy yourself.

Is it too late for you to go? Lol, I guess so, sorry I forget it’s actually tomorrow morning EST, don’t know I am thinking tomorrow night. But at least you had Hong Kong.
I have watched this cover several times now and can’t believe how much I like it. Adam is so powerful and confident like never before in his vocals. I just listened to GNT Live again after a long while and his voice is even richer now if that is possible.
I love, love how spontaneous and self assured he is on this tour. GNT was fantastic but it was so much more scripted and now he is so loose and comfortable. It’s killing me we won’t get a TP tour here but still hoping.

  • lovetheusa1776

Hoping for a tour here, too – or at least a few concerts.  I’d pay a lot to hear him rock out like this – riveting performance – the controlled power of his voice is extraordinary.
