Adam Lambert Arrives in London

Why do I find the UK airport videos more disturbing than Japan’s? They were right up in his face and did you see one guy kept touching his back. Kinda weird for me. It’s good he has a day or two off before the radio gigs. Let’s him catch up on his sleep and take in some sights. The Tower Bridge (I think that’s what it’s called?) is stunning in person.

On a shallow note his pants look kinda low at one point.

Staying on topic….Did they ever announce the big surprise that was suppose to be told when he got to England? I have no idea what it was but I think MTV of England had tweeted about it two weeks ago. Saying awesome news but they couldn’t tell anyone at the time. Has it been revealed.

I can so see Adam bringing out his British accent. When I got back from England the first time, my friends and family commented that I would say certain words with a little accent. It wasn’t on purpose. You just can’t help it.

If they had allowed him to walk past the barrier where people were waiting as they did in Japan, this wouldn’t have happened (but many people know who’s to blame for the incompetent way a lot of Adam’s things are being handled internationally). As it is, they got one of the airport staff to tell people that Adam had already left, when he very clearly hadn’t, and tried to sneak him out while the airport staff distracted the fans but someone saw him and a few of the others charged.

The guy touching him is a young boy, probably about 15.

By the way, yes, it’s Tower Bridge but I didn’t realise it was person!!!

I hope so. It’s amazing how so many were so controlled in Japan yet the few that were in London were so uncontrolled. Security was very lax. I hope it’s something that Adam’s people are concerned about. Not only were some of these people touchy feely, some of them got on another elevator and followed Adam. They obviously didn’t have any sense of space for Adam.

I’m so excited Adam’s in the UK. Can’t wait to see all the interviews. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if he met with Queen, or even got to sing with them while he was there. But I know that’s just too much to hope for.

I think I heard somewhere they asked fans not to come tot he airport. But I could be wrong.

I said this yesterday but my wish is that they set up a meet/greet with Bowie. But don’t tell Adam and just walk him into the room. They as the film is rolling we can see Adam go all Fanboy…hehehe. I think that would be so awesome.

As for the G-A-Y gig. From what I can tell it is a huge thing. It’s not like him playing at a gay club cuz he is gay. As limi posted huge stars play that gig. And he is the main act…yay!! But I do think that from what I have read that is the big news that UK MTV was talking about a few weeks ago. Though it could be something else since the G-A-Y thing isn’t until april 24…haha who really knows

The airport arrival has always been public knowledge so it was open for any Adam fans to turn up .. I think that the small number there may have had something to do with a bit of confusion as to the day he was arriving .. it had been thought for a while that he was due to arrive on the Thursday but it appears that that info was incorrect or there were last minute changes in his schedule as he arrived on the Friday

I think a few people had made arrangements to be there on the Thursday (even gone as far as book accommodation etc) but then the details of his arrival were changes so perhaps they couldn’t rearrange plans to be there on the Friday at such short notice.

We’re reknown for our sarcasm and snark and a lot of journos (especially in the tabloids) seem to like to take the snarky slant to their reporting .. but I’m sure he’ll cope, he’s intelligent and qick witted and more than a match for them so they will probably like that .. plus he does seem very charismatic and so will probably win most of the press over

Hi guys! Well I’m not worried about Adam one bit! Seriously- he can handle snarky reporters. He knows how to be quite snarky himself when he wants…

It’s true he won’t be welcomed as crazily as in Japan- where the media (that we saw) was flailing over him and calling him “Super Vocalist” and the new (and better) Elvis Presly… Ha ha- not that I didn’t enjoy it or don’t agree (damn it- he is a super vocalist and better than Elvis in my opinion), but when these superlatives were reported as facts, it felt a little strange to me… I’d rather he win the audience over fair and square, without crazy media-hyping… but that’s just me…

BTW- did you guys see Monte’s tweets about his wife and daughters on the cover of this pregnancy fitness magazine? They are gorgeous!

Adam really isn’t known there like in other places so I’m not surprised we haven’t heard anything on him yet. Of course, I am confident that will change after this week and his week in April. He’s got a ton of radio promo on Tuesday. I’m wondering how he will be able to do them all, unless some are call-ins. I don’t think anything will be the Nova FM stuff though.

American Idol doesn’t get the viewership here in th UK like it does in some other countries … it’s not shown on one of the main channels and the scheduling is always a bit stupid .. where they somethimes split the show into two parts putting other programmes inbetween .. so you watch an hour of it and then some dross like “Paris Hilton’s New English Best Friend” then they show the next hour of AI

The PR team and fan club sent out information asking fans not to come to the airport. Obviously, some of them still showed up. Also, there was confusion about which day and what time Adam was actually arriving due to the change of schedule in Japan.

The group you see following Adam were the fans who broke off from the larger group and followed him downstairs. There wasn’t a huge group at the London airport(like in Japan), but it was definitely more than a handful.

I think we had a conversation last week about Adam using the Tardis. This was during the pants-heard-around-the-world. Where I thought Adam must be using the Tardis to get all his world promo stuff done while selling platiunum and gold in other countries. But somehow only getting in done during his 15 mins. So he is definatly using the Tardis it is the only way.

One of the fans there at the airport had her little boy dressed like Adam, and he told the little boy how cute he looked. I tried to find the link to the picture, but it didnt work. I’ll try to find it.
UK fans relate that the SonyUK promo team have made a good start booking him on G.A.Y which is a major gig that all the major stars have appeared at.They have also introduced him to Dan Whooton and Dean Piper who are the entertainment editors of the 2 most popular newspapers. Most people outside of the American Idol bubble don’t know of Adam yet so the first visit will be the first time they have seen/heard him. UK fans said that they do think though that Sony UK know what they are doing by having FYE as first single. When Katie Perry, Lady Gaga and Kesha made it there, it was on the strength of their singles which the radio stations played all the time. Adam has been plotted on the same course. UK fans said that they fully expect Adams single to be on the Radio 1 playlist next week and are really excited about hearing him on the radio and hopefully seeing him on tv.

Yes it is my opinion that her album sucks. And just like I can express my opinion, and you can express yours- so can Adam. That’s pretty much it.

And one last thing- Adam’s album may suck in some people’s opinion but at least it is creative (or attempting to be creative if you insist you don’t agree that it is creative). SuBo’s album doesn’t even attempt to be art. Just a bunch of inimaginative covers.

yup Subo is a bit of a joke over here in some quarters . she seems to be more worshipped in the US than the UK where she is the butt of a lot of jokes and skits

A large proportion of the UK population and media will probably agree with Adam’s comments about her (that’s if in fact he did actually say them)

Subo’s doesn’t sing in a classical music style, nor is her album classical .. it’s middle of the road covers of pop tunes, and the odd musical theatre tunes or “standards” .. she’s easy listening .. she would’t qualify for any classical chart or award

I was kinda thinking that as well mr. You can count me as didn’t like it either. I like all kinds of music but really couldn’t listen to that. Wen I listened to Wild horses it was wierd to me Wild Horses sounded (and I am talking everything but the words i.e. the cadence of the lyrics and some of the actually music) like I dreamed a dream. It was weird for me. It sounded like she was singing IDAD with WH lyrics IMHO…oh well to each their own I guess

I LOVE THIS…BO was never one of my favorite songs on his album…but how can you not love and connect to this performance..AWESOME…the vocal embellishment from 2:36-2:41 is spine tingling!!!

Anyway- I really don’t like posting very negative stuff- so I’ll lay off SuBo- my real basic point was that Adam shouldn’t be criticized for expressing his opinion (again- if he was even quoted properly). He’s entitled to his opinion just like everyone else is.

I don’t definitively know what did or did not happen at the UK airport, but I never expected there to be the crowd that gathered in Asia. The UK is home to so many legendary, worldwide musical stars that I would imagine they’re a bit jaded by now — and not in a bad way because it’s quite the compliment from a country with such a rich and epic musical history that they have any interest in Adam at all! The fact that Adam is causing a stir there at all is exciting to me as his fan, and the fact that he’s going to be among a bunch of very esteemed artists in a month or so to have performed at GAY means they think a lot of him. That’s awesome.

the album/single hasn’t been officially released yet … the US version is available on UK iTunes and in the shops but it hasn’t been promoted so any sales so far are besically from word of mouth on the net or from AI viewers in the UK who know he has an album out.

I just spent a week in London and conducted an informal poll in every shop/restaurant we were in. Not one person had heard of Adam and I pretty much asked people in all demographics. I figured I did my job of planting the seed so that when people hear him on the radio the will say, “Ohhhhh. That is who that American was talking about. Of course everyone had heard of Simon Cowell and I talked to one shop girl in Harrods who said she was in love with Simon and that he came in often with his girlfriend. She pointed out that he was quite short but still attractive. Anyway, it’s pretty easy to become visible in London once you get yourself out there looking pretty. I hope Adam does well!

luval, there is 5 hours time difference between East Coast and England, and 6 hours -rest of the Europe. So it’s 2:30 AM in London.
I am going to call tomorrow my friend who lives in London and is also Adam’s fan. She should know everything..:)

I really don’t know how Adam is surviving all that travelling and constant jetlag. I went to Europe many times and I had only 6 hour jetlag, but it was taking me at least 3 days to go back to normal, and I didn’t have to give an intelligent interviews..:((

Adams style is not one thing or the other. He mixes and matches. That coat he is wearing is from a new designer in Japan who made it just for him. He dresses for each occation. He is not just a rocker to wear only leather jacket. He has his own personal style which he experiments with daily. Ther will be some days you will hate what he is wearing but it is still him exspressing himself through clothes.

Accourding to sony Adam will be touring this year they just haven’t figured any details out yet.
