Ryan Seacret interviewed Adam Lambert and Kris Allen on his KISS LA radio show this morning.

They talked tour, upcoming albums and crushes.   Yes, interviewers can’t seem to get enough of the crush thing!

Of course, the death of Michael Jackson came up.   They were in rehearsal when the news broke–and it was promptly canceled–with nobody able to concentrate on singing afterward.

About the Bowie medley Adam is performing on tour, he says, “We have it orchestrated with a lot of modern elements.”   “2009 Bowie,” Adam calls. it.   Kris will perform the Beatles’ “Hey Jude”–a song that didn’t get cleared during the competition.

Ryan read Adam’s latest statement on the Hi-Fi release of his pre-Idol material, and while Adam stopped short of telling fans not to buy it, he made it clear he’s pissed.   “The songs aren’t finished,” he says.

I think Hayden is an Adam fan! She was totally fangirling over him throughout the interview.

I think Kris is so cute when he said that he love the Rolling Stone cover that he carried to the studio. (I’m not sure if Ryan was joking when he said Kris was carrying the Rolling Stone issue with him)

  • AC

haha.. that girl calling for Kris was cute. It reminded me of Allison when she was interviewing Kris! hehe..

and i think it is legal issues that Adam can not say don’t buy.. and the fact that Hi-Fi will not STFU about it so it is best to ignore them =)

  • LaTasha

Wow that Radar guy is a really good interviewer; doesn’t ask the same old boring questions. And asking Kris about his pecs; GENIUS. =)

  • Sunn

and i think it is legal issues that Adam can not say donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t buy.. and the fact that Hi-Fi will not STFU about it so it is best to ignore them =)

Probably yes to the legal issue. But I, never the less, got a clear indication of a “not to buy” instruction.

I never intended on buying anyway, I would hate to put money in their pockets more than I would love to have the album. HIFI is on my blacklist for the foreseeable future.

I would however, not argue against any other fan buying the album if they wished. It is after all a free country.

  • elw

Adam is very clear in this interview regarding the HIFI release of his old songs. Hi is not happy about it. I WILL NOT be buying anything that HiFi releases, I can’t wait for Adam’s REAL album.

  • weareallinnocent

I agree Adam is pissed and the fact is for legal reasons he “can’t say” don’t buy it. “Can’t say” sure isn’t a ringing endorsement or encouraging purchases though! I’m assuming they don’t want to prolong the controversy in the press either. Again, “whatever.” I’d already decided not to buy, so this is a non-issue for me.

They both do a great job in this bit. The callers, not so much. LOL All just fangirling to the nth degree! What was the use of those calls?! Oh well…

  • annabelina

The Radar interview was awesome! So many great parts … Kris getting embarrassed about his (hot!) pecs, Anoop deadpanning “Um … no” to the Indian Revolution question, and the “straight news” jacket switch with Adam. Hilarious.

  • lola

Now that Adam has talked, I can now say that he is not happy with the way things are going with Hi-Fi. At any rate, I also read Hi-Fi’s response this morning and I would like to commend the indie label for not putting Adam in a bad light. They know that Adam is under the control of his new recording label and they are not taking it against him but rather against the major record label.

  • Ellie2

Have you all seen Hi-Fi’s response to Adam’s latest statement?

Hi Fi responded to Adam’s statement this morning, saying, “As we’ve already outlined, releasing this music was always the plan. That plan was changed by 19 Recordings after Adam won America over with his extraordinary talent. It’s a shame that his management/record company choose to disavow their client’s work and discredit him as a songwriter. As an independent company whose role it is to help put this out, we at Hi Fi think this is an absolute slap in the face to Wilshire Records. That small indie music company, run by an experienced music producer, Malcolm Welsford, thrives on finding, nurturing and championing new talent, and now they find themselves at a tremendous potential loss. Adam’s songwriting partner, Monte Pittman now finds himself at a tremendous potential loss. Via the press, in the words of the musician they dedicated so much time and money to, they are being told that their work with Adam should never see the light of day.”

Hi Fi’s statement continues: “We apologize for what has become a tiresome tit for tat, particularly on a day that we mourn the loss of a truly original, game-changing entertainer, but unfortunately, each statement released in Adam’s name contains a different story. We remain steadfast in our assertion that we seek only to share the music Adam wrote, according to plan, so his fans know the depth of his talent and see that he will be handsomely rewarded for his work.”

Hi Fi claims that it has a signed recording contract with Adam dated Feb. 12, 2008. The label has already made one of the CD’s tracks, “Want,” available on iTunes.

Ummm…suggestion for Hi-Fi…if you don’t want the tit for tat to continue, then shut the hell up!

  • GeminiDolly

    Loved the Radar interview. Hilarious.

  • BlissTheAssassin

    Love the radar interview.

As for the latest response. Hi-Fi your just getting boring now, just leave it you’re not going to sell many records if you keep this up.

  • AC

They can’t say Adam’s name directly because that would alienate even more fans to attack him. However, by releasing yet another statement would piss his fans off.

Also the statements of people “losing” money.. No one is losing money because without Adam being on Idol, no one would have bought the cd anyways. there is no potential loss, there is just the potential gain they want to take advantage of.

I love how Kris slowly puts his arm around Adam/his chair. He has such a great sense of humor, and is so confident in who he is. He is just so relaxed and cool in this interview.

  • lilbrusc102

Love the Radar interview….Jacket switching with Adam, Anoop’s Indian Revolution, Kris’s pecs….fun stuff!!!

Aw, the fans freaking out when they called in during the Ryan interview was cute. Ryan seems to have a good rapport with the guys.

  • GeminiDolly

hahaha @ Kris when he puts his arm around Adam. ::dies of laughter::

That’s such bullshit, that they “remain steadfast in our assertion” and Adam’s story keeps changing. As far as I’m concerned, so has theirs. The whole thing is absolutely fishy. I don’t doubt that Adam may have signed a contract initially without proper readthru, but isn’t it FABULOUS that these things don’t get released until Adam actually gets somewhere?

Why not before if they were from when they were actually written. This is just so dang fishy and why release something we’ve seen on the internet(for the most parT) a million times, minus “Want” and the other one with no credits to Adam.

These people are idiots and keep contradicting themselves. I wish they would STFU and realize really quickly that they aren’t going to make nearly a lick off this as they probably are intending to

  • jack5791

I love listening to Kris. I don’t blame Adam for being pissed about the songs…I would be also! It’s too bad they can’t really respect his wishes. I can’t imagine they would even make a lot of money off of them…

  • Ellie2

These people are idiots and keep contradicting themselves. I wish they would STFU and realize really quickly that they arenà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t going to make nearly a lick off this as they probably are intending to

I agree. Their story changes daily. Every time they release a statement Adam has more and more involvement in the “album.” They need to stfu and realize they are only pissing off the people who might have considered buying the album at one point.

  • LaurelG

I want to like Ryan Seacrest. Really I do. Because he seems so affable. And then he goes and pulls some seventh grade crap like he did in this interview where he embarasses the hell out of everyone, including himself, by asking some “but what was were you thinking in the bathroom?” type question. It only serves to reinforce my suspicion that underneath his surface charm, he’s basically an insecure jerk.

Massively insecure. In ways that Kris and Adam can’t comprehend. Case in point, the TV Guide interview. That was priceless. Those are two “very secure in their own skins” guys. Love them both!

  • Mary102

OMGz! The TVGuide vid was hilarious! LOVE the Kris arm around Adam bit! Ahh! How can these guys get even more awesome together.

Seriously — reality show, Kradam, asap.

  • PattyH

Do they really expect people to believe this crap?! Isn’t it odd that they have always wanted to release his music but didn’t actually do it until he became such a phenomenon!

  • LisaE

I liked the Radar interview. Best line: “I look like a midlife crisis right now.” And he did! lol. That’s not an easy look to pull off (regardless of what Adam thinks)!!

  • BestAI

Ryan’s question about who would drive them crazy… since they wouldn’t respond and when Ryan turned off the mics and thought who that person might be, then Kris said, “totally”. I bet Ryan said Scott. I’m getting that after the LKL interview, and he questioned Scott if he had a recording deal, like Scott acted like he had something in the works.

  • LeeTravers

Listened to Ryan – this man is seriously creepy. And LaurelG is correct – Kris and Adam are secure in themselves – their rapport and humor indicate that. (Noticed during AI, Ryan would fairly often make insinuating remarks about Lambert – makes you wonder what RYAN’s problem is.)

  • nuttin2lose

Regarding the new hifi statement .Potential tremedous loss?. How is this going to happen.?. they are still going ahead with it or are they not?. no one stopped them. i am thinking they were hoping adam wld endorse it. which he probably wld have if only they had shown a little bit of courtsey in the matter like letting adam/19/RCA in on it. instead of the careless “they know now”. and maybe waiting till after his real album drops. i wonder when monty will talk.

  • BestAI

Adam has to be so sick of the “gay thing”. I mean Ryan? C’mon Ryan. Adam tried to put him in his place (with snark), “I sing too.” Who said “shut up”. Probably Adam — more snark.

  • Squirrely

I think it was Ryan that said shut up

  • unique28v

Also the statements of people à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“losingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ money.. No one is losing money because without Adam being on Idol, no one would have bought the cd anyways. there is no potential loss, there is just the potential gain they want to take advantage of.

    lol. exactly.

On another note, why on earth are all three going to be released in Nov. before thanksgiving? Its going to be like a competition all over again.

  • suebrody

Well, if Adam says the songs are unfinished, hint, DON’T BUY THE ALBUM BECAUSE IT IS UNFINISHED, then I am sure as hell not buying it. Thanks for bringing it up again, Ryan. Oh, and thanks for reminding us that Adam is…gay. GTFO! No way! Oh…way. Nice reply, Adam. You go.

I love Kradam. I seriously do. These guys have such respect for one another. It’s really touching, in a non touch-feely way. I wonder if two other contestants have felt this way about one another (Kelly/Justin/horrible movie?!). The David’s were close, but the age differential and life experience was so different that they weren’t experiencing things together the way these guys are.

The KRADAM Hour. They need to put on this show.

Ryan can be such a tool sometimes…and he’s never seen the Tour? Is that possible?!

  • unique28v

    very cute interview

  • BestAI

Ryan can be such a tool sometimesà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦and heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s never seen the Tour? Is that possible?!

I bet he’ll catch this one because he seems to have a crush on Adam!!!!

  • Mom in the Suburbs

The Radar reporter switching jackets with Adam bit–I’m so jealous! I want to try on that studded jacket. I also want to sniff at the jacket the way that reporter was doing at the end…Wonder how Adam smells? Okay, it’s official. I’ve lost it.

  • Natasha

In the interview with Ryan, Adam and Kris sounded like two grown men dealing with a 9 year old. Man, oh man. When the first thing that was brought up was the gay issue Adam did sound like he was getting a little annoyed. Seems like he’s pretty pissed at Hi Fi for throwing unfinished stuff out there with no input from him so they’re not getting my money.

As to who would drive them crazy I’d guess Danny. Danny comes off as such a boob on-camera that I can’t even imagine what he’s like off-camera. I know I wouldn’t want to be on a bus with him and Sarver. They seem like they’d be pretty tough to take but that is strictly my opinion and YMMV.

  • unique28v

Regarding the new hifi statement .Potential tremedous loss?. How is this going to happen.?.

I’m assuming Want isn’t selling the way they thought it would.

  • JazzRocks

I have to agree with the middle-aged woman caller who said to Adam “You do it for ME Baby!”

  • AC

I don’t think Ryan actually said a name about who they don’t get along with. It seems like he just muted it to seem like he did

  • BestAI

Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m assuming Want isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t selling the way they thought it would.

I think Hifi is discovering the power and loyalty of Adam fans. If anyone has ever been on any American Idol blog sites (including this one), Adam always has the most fans by far. Die hard Adam fans always attest to having his back. Don’t know what it is about Adam, but his fans are a force to be reckoned with. I think Ryan Seacrest discovered this (he mentioned it in an interview) when Adam was in the bottom, Adam was deluged with flowers, balloons, gifts and letters that same week.

  • HannaB4

I love how they smelled each other’s jackets! Last season when Jason Castro wore my jacket after a concert while signing autographs (it was colder outside than he expected), after he gave it back to me at least 20 people asked if they could smell it. hahaha
    Great interview !

  • Ellie2

Hey, that TV Guide interview is up with the audio and video in sync this time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poHyGriST8Y

  • Mom in the Suburbs

babybelle32 Thanks for the TV Guide link! Perhaps the best joint interview ever by Kradam, and I’m not even a Kradam fan. Just love how Adam responds with the warning about the media rumors, “They’ll run with that” when Kris talks about having a bromance crush on Adam, and how they react to each other over the whole headphone splitter gift from Adam’s fans (so they can listen to music together and “cuddle” LOL). Absolutely hysterical. I’ll always be an Adam fan, but Kris as a human being wins at life. They are a terrific comedy duo.

  • annabelina

Man crushes are in! Bromai! Lmao!

  • sidewalkstory

I would like to commend the indie label for not putting Adam in a bad light.

Really? And how would they sell records if they are knocking their own product?

Besides, they are not knocking Adam for the same reason he is not knocking them – lawsuit!

  • AC

Oh, and about Kradison releasing their albums all before Thanksgiving.. it’s not necessarily a bad thing that they release it all around the same time because they all have somewhat different market bases. They just better make sure that they all advertise them well!

I think the last time that people were ever so “crazy” about the top 2 was Clay and Ruben and there’s got released within a week though. Instead of hurting the sales, I think it actually drove up sales because they both went to number #1. The marketplace for cds are different now so you never know.. but having it on sale before “Black Friday” is good because people will be able to pick it up as gifts.

  • Mary102

I think Ryan Seacrest discovered this (he mentioned it in an interview) when Adam was in the bottom, Adam was deluged with flowers, balloons, gifts and letters that same week.

LOL! Before I came here, I frequented EW’s Idol pages, and the level of comments right after that show was like “Daughtry-elimination” level, and Adam wasn’t even eliminated!

When the spec hit about whether he was REALLY in the bottom 2 (or 3), I couldn’t help but say, well, it certainly got AI the buzz boost in the middle of an otherwise predictable season, didn’t it?

  • dsp

This may be a stupid question—–do they each release a single first and if yes then when would that probably be if album to be released in Nov??

  • ShariG

Great interview. It is fun to hear someone interview them that knows them, knows the show, and respects them both. I was glad that both guys got some direct questions and some time to talk. I think when Kris is with Adam he sometimes steps back and letsd the older more experienced Adam take the lead. When he is by himself he is great at the whole interview thing. I do think that they both did a great job in this interview. Can’t wait to hear Kris sing Hey Jude on tour.

  • kijico3

    Is786idol….thanks for the link…loved it! I wanna smell Adam’s jacket too :smile1_tb:

  • clearone

Geez Ryan, nice try in getting Kris to admit he was uncomfortable rooming with a gay man. Sorry about your luck in that Kris wasn’t uncomfortable and you didn’t get a scoop there. Try as I might I will never like Ryan.

….and pffft!!! to whoever has sold Adam out with HiFi. You won’t be getting any favours from him in the future!

  • LaurelG

Great interview. It is fun to hear someone interview them that knows them, knows the show, and respects them both.

Great interview for Kris, maybe. Not for Adam. In my opinion, Ryan showed a real disrespect for him with some of the initial comments and questions about the “crush” and the bathroom thoughts. I actually have a fair amount disrespect for Ryan right now, given his obvious attempts to goad one or the other of them into saying something contraversial or titillating. Ryan’s an asshat.

And frankly he asked the same generic questions about the tour and albums that the other interviewers have. So, I guess I disagree. As much as I like to hear these guys talk, I could have done without this interview.

  • Susan M.

Sorry, Ryan was weak. As usual. I too, try to like him, but he just does such a great imitation of being clueless. I cannot fathom that he is, but why does he go there? Like yesterday’s FoxLA reporter asking the month-old, retread, beyond weak questions, when there are a million other things to discuss? What’s that about?

Maybe it’s an L.A. DJ thing. I have a long commute and listen to several stations on the morning drive and so often they just toss out headlines, tabloid style, to entice listeners. Ten times out of 11 the headlines are total red herrings and have nothing to do with the actual story. Seacrest is a master at that. But c’mon, Larry King has said he thinks Ryan would be his best successor? I am completely missing that.

  • suebrody

Given some of his questions (even the leading one: Hey, what have you guys been up to lately? or something like that), you would think Ryan *and* his listeners had been living under a rock for the past month. Feh. Please tell me Ryan won’t be the next host of LKL. RSL. Ugh. Noooo. I guess that’s morning radio for you, tho. The TV Guide and Radar interviews were much better.

I want to hear Kradam on American Top 40!!! :)

  • redsetter10

I’ve officially lost what little respect I had left for Ryan with the questions he posed at the beginning of this interview. Did he really have to pose the bathroom questions?! He was trying to make something very sordid out of the whole set-up. I think he tries very hard to embarrass Adam and seems to get some sort of simple minded pleasure from it. I thought he handled that “bottom three” episode in a cruel manner too. Making Adam pick which group he should be in and them leading him to the “bottom three”. (You know, he could have been in the top three at that point.) And, Ryan acted like he got a real kick out of that. It just pisses me off. I’d avoid him. He seems to enjoy putting people down in a passive aggressive way.

  • revcat

Isn’t there a lot of speculation about Ryan Seacrest’s sexuality? Maybe he is not very comfortable with it, whatever it is, and therefore acts like a little kid around men such as Adam and Kris who are comfortable with who they are. Ryan seems kind of immature (he reminds me of the uncool kid trying to get in good with the cool kids). Its pretty unattractive for someone his age.

When someone asked Larry King who should take his place when he retires, he did say Ryan Seacrest which (to Larry’s surprise) evoked laughter from the live audience. That should give TPTB a hint.
    :thumbdown_tb:

  • CindyM

    I can’t believe Ryan…this is on his site…

    http://www.ryanseacrest.com/blog/whats-happening/adam-lambert-details-his-big-crush-on-kris-allen/

Kris Allen and Adam Lambert joined Ryan in-studio Friday to share behind the scenes American Idol details and news on their up and coming albums.

Immediately upon arrival Adam revealed that he had a crush on Kris when they were rooming together during Idol. “Oh God yeah, that got uncomfortable,” joked Lambert, but Kris said “it wasn’t weird at all.”

Ummm..yeah, if “immediately” means AFTER you asked the question. He’s ridiculous.

  • Ligeya

I think some fans think Ryan is spending most of his time reading news about Adam, just like they are. It’s obviously wrong, he has his life to live, million of jobs and probably some kind of personal life, that’s why he’s covering the most important subjects – such as tour, sexuality, relationship and plans for future.
I think it was good, funny, interesting interview, and I certainly doubt that Adam is pissed at Ryan because of some questions. I really doubt Adam is a gentle flower who can’t handle a couple of difficult questions.
And another thing – I don’t know anything about Ryan’s sexuality and how it affects his life, but I have to say – speculations about Ryan’s sexuality from people who some time ago were mad about speculations about Adam’s sexuality and said that what person does in bed should be their own business are really low and example of double standards.

  • Ligeya

    revcat

I think the fact that legend like Larry King thinks Ryan is a good replacement and is very persistent about give every hints anybody might need. Of course, audience might have some doubts about it, because Ryan is associated with entertainment industry and news, but he could do different styles as well. He did very good job replacing Larry King, and he had some difficult topics such as anymal cruelty. He was good with Idols as well. So he could be good replacement, no doubt about it.

  • http://randomizeme.wordpress.com arca

I have to agree with the middle-aged woman caller who said to Adam à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“You do it for ME Baby!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

I actually thought that was so EWWW -worthy … I was thinking – she’s joking – but she seemed serious. IMHO, 59 year olds shouldn’t be saying stuff like … at least not in public.

  • ruskimom

I can’t stop laughing after their reactions to their Michael J. performances

Listen to what Adam says immediately after the “that got uncomfortable” remark …. Ryan’s saying “yeah” and Adam says, “No, for everybody else, not for us.” That kinda changes the whole meaning of the prior statement and along with that point CindyM made above (i.e. that Adam was responding to Ryan’s question, not volunteering this information), shows how totally MISLEADING and INACCURATE this whole statement in the article really is. Plus, by “everybody else” I’m pretty sure he’s talking about other people generally, due to the media focus, not the other Idols because this issue only came up post-show after his comments in RS.

I think he tries very hard to embarrass Adam and seems to get some sort of simple minded pleasure from it. Adam has to be so sick of the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“gay thingà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . I mean Ryan? Cà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢mon Ryan. Adam tried to put him in his place (with snark), à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“I sing too.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ Who said à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“shut upà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . Probably Adam à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ more snark.

Loved the “I’m also a SINGER!”, lol. When Ryan dropped the “gay” bomb (heh) I think it was Kris who said “Shut UP!”, jokingly, as if pretending that he had never known. I don’t think either of them were being snarky, it sounded to me like simply more of their banter. And while I think it was dumb for Ryan to bring up the subject (want to beat that dead horse a bit more, Ryan?), for me the “reading between the lines” of that bit was “Well DUH! Why did so many of you people [viewers] not get this?!”

Also loved Adam’s bottom-line “they aren’t *finished*!” I would be soooo pissed if I were in that kind of situation.

I have to agree with the middle-aged woman caller who said to Adam à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“You do it for ME Baby!à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬

    I actually thought that was so EWWW-worthy à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ I was thinking – sheà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s joking – but she seemed serious. IMHO, 59 year olds shouldnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t be saying stuff like à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦ at least not in public.

I agree. Fine if people want to say stuff like that to their friends, but if you’re *talking to the person*, keep it to yourself. And I cannot stand the “it’s such a waste” comment (that I still see everywhere) – as Adam responded, why should it matter one way or another?!?

I think he tries very hard to embarrass Adam and seems to get some sort of simple minded pleasure from it. I thought he handled that à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“bottom threeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ episode in a cruel manner too. Making Adam pick which group he should be in and them leading him to the à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“bottom threeà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . (You know, he could have been in the top three at that point.) And, Ryan acted like he got a real kick out of that. It just pisses me off. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d avoid him. He seems to enjoy putting people down in a passive aggressive way.

Ryan tries to embarass Adam? The same Ryan who praised him non-stop on Larry King, who basically said he should have been the winner on Conan and other shows, who said Adam is absolutely unique for Idol and etc? Give me a break.
The issue of sexuality is old for Adam’s fans, who read/listen/obsess over his interviews, it definitely new for Ryan and most of his listeners, that’s why he asked about it.
As for this moment during Top 5 result show, it was Adam who made situation awkward for himself. He made a choice, he was wrong – not a big deal. It’s easier to blame cruel show and cruel Ryan than to see the truth about situation.

The issue of Adam’s sexuality is new to Ryan?! Come on. I thought his line of questioning was juvenile.

He asks this questions not because he personally so interested, but because it was important news about Adam, and he couldn’t skip it. Yes, interview would be better without this topic, yes, I understand, Adam is tired from questions about sexuality (everybody ask him about it, not just Ryan). But to say that Ryan asked this questions because “Oh, he hates Adam so much and wants to embarass him OMG” is just wrong. It’s obvious that Ryan is a biggest Adam’s fangirl, he always supported and praised him.
