Kris looks a little worse for the wear these days. Straighten those shoulders young man! Walk proud and tall! Like Adam. Kris is a total doll though. He shows that despite Adam’s attraction for him, he is confident in their friendship.

They know who they are, so one is not offended by what the other says…

Why does Kris have two guitars?

Can’t tell from the photo but most likely, one is electric and one is acoustic. However, there are lots of different styles of acoustic guitars and strings, and they make different sounds. Musicians typically have several guitars, and switch up depending on the song the “sound” they’re going for.

I’m a hack (really really bad) bass guitar player and I have three guitars: one electric bass, one acoustic bass, and an acoustic regular guitar (because I keep telling myself I’m going to teach myself to play)!

Hummm, you may not have noticed, xuziqueue that Kris is carrying both his electric and acoustic guitar. Straight and tall Adam is carrying his cup of coffee. LOL They both look good to me. Kris is getting a fair amount of covereage in the paps, as he well deserve. He didn’t have a faux “coming out” of interest to the media, so it is expected that Adam will be “all that” for at least a minute. The publicity isn’t hurting either of them or American Idol by association.

This photo I think is them probably going into the studio to rehearse for the tour…not to work on their solo stuff…

In a radio interview Kris’ mom did, she said she was literally falling over all kinds of different guitars when she was in his hotel room — I guess he got some sort of endorsement deal with a guitar maker (or makers)?

Why does Kris have two guitars?

One is acoustic and one is electric. He played both on the show. You get different vibes with both. Hopefully, he gets to play them on the album (in the past some Idols who could play still used session musicians instead for various reasons).

Great to know they are both working on their albums. Might mean early singles. RCA used to have an Idol policy of not dropping singles too much prior to the album (when you listened to Clive explain the reasons for that (the Idols already have exposure/interest so why waste money dropping a single), it did kind of make sense), but the fact that they dropped Cook’s early may mean that they are treating Idols a bit better (because you can expand your audience with a single and generate more steady sales).

Adam seems to be always ready for the camera.

I wonder if Kris will ever outgrow his plaid shirts.

Ah thanks for the answer, ettacandy. I totally forgot Kris played the electric guitar ever and was completely unaware of the possibility he might have multiple acoustics. As a piano player, instruments that have strings are totally foreign to me.

It would be totally cool if they collaborated on a song somewhere down the road. They showed on that duet they did on the finale (and in that last Ford video) that their voices mesh well together. It would have to be on a song that fits both guys’ range, but I think they could put out something great. I don’t know if they would do it now — they probably want to focus on their own debut albums — but maybe down the road.

Since the Idols are displaced from their “homes” for the time being I wonder if they are all staying at residence hotels near the AI rehearsal studio. If this is the case I am sure that Allison and Adam are also partaking of this perk since I think it would be pretty hectic to stay at “home” with the paparazzi hounding them all the time and people knowing where they lived.

At least “school’s out” for the summer for Allison. I’m sure all 3 are going to be busy little Bees for quite some time. Speaking of Adam’s shirt, I was listening to his version of “One” the other day in the car and I think that would be an awesome duet for Kradam. Unlike on the show, there’s nothing over the top about Adam’s iTunes version and I think it would be a cool statement on tour. Just those two and Kris on his guitar would sound awesome!

Anybody remember the fun we used to have about Taylor parking cars and being part of the catering staff? LOL. This picture is totally giving me the same vibes. Maybe Kris has been assigned roadie duty for the summer. 19 isn’t made of money you know. The supporting Idols have to support! Danny has truck driving experience, so he can drive the bus. What’s Anoop’s degree in? For some reason, I think math. So, he can work the cash box at the concession stand. Megan is good at flailing about, so we can assign her dancing Pop-Tart duty. Matt’s probably still got the mole, so he should probably be the other Pop-Tart. Sarver used to work with oil rigs, so maybe he can assemble the stage. Scott likes chocolate, so he can cook. Lil can work the bag check and Allison can take the tickets. Adam is in charge of hair and make-up.

I am pretty positive that Adam wouldn’t and won’t say anything that would jeopardize his friendship with either Kris or Allison. Lifestyles aside, these three have so much in common career wise, right now, that I bet the are thrilled that they have good friends to commiserate with.

I know we’re only kidding and all (but some in the mainstream media have tried to make a big deal out of the “crush.”) It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. Like we have crushes on everyone we think is attractive. Most of us would be crushing on someone new every day. I’m sure Adam told Kris he thought he was cute the same day he told him he was gay and then it was end of story.

I think Kris’ knowledge that Adam found him attractive added to the depth of their friendship. I would imagine Kris may have been a little intimidated by Adam at first à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ very small town Arkansas boy, unassuming college student, meets bigger-than-life L.A.-savvy, glam god with KILLER talent, but that knowledge that Adam found him that interesting would have made him comfortable in their “clique” (as Danny said).

I wouldn’t be surprised that on “down days” on the tour if they have a little time Adam won’t be taking everyone out shopping…There are more than a few idols that could use some help with their wardrobe skills. Also, I bet at some point we see a pic (while on tour) of Adam and Danny having a manicure and pedicure because Danny said he really liked that stuff (one really smart thing he has alluded to). I also wonder if Allison and Adam are going to be jetting home to LA once every 5 weeks so that Adam’s hairdresser can do her magic touch on their hair.

I never thought of it before but they must travel with a make-up person. And this year they will definitely need more than one….Adam himself is pretty high maintenance and Lil and Megan seem to like to “doll” themselves up.

I was kind of wondering about this also. I know Adam said in a written interview (maybe it was even the RS one) that he had sublet his apartment.

In general, I’m a pretty cynical, sort-of snarky person. But I have to say I’m cheered by how many genuine friendships seem to evolve out of these people spending so much time together in the AI bubble. Kris and Adam are the latest — and probably the greatest — example of this.

Back in the early years of this show, they didn’t get a make-up person until the finals started (so the first three shows, the kids were on their own for make-up and wardrobe). I remember the other contestants saying that Kat McPhee helped them out because she had experience with stage make-up (make-up for television is different than make-up for a night out). Sometimes, this show is so cheap. Thankfully, they came to their senses that they are producing a TV show so maybe they should make the Idols look decent. LOL.

Since this has been asked twice, I will attempt to answer it. I strongly suspect that it is a typo for “black bag”. Typos like that happen when people are typing quickly two like sounding words. Plus, it looks like a black bag.

Yes. AI puts them up somewhere. It’s normal procedures for businesses to pay for accomodations when they make you travel from your home to do things. During the tour, if they overnight somewhere, they will also be staying in hotels.

Ditto Susan M. I have been married to a good man for 14 years now. Have I met attractive men in the last 14 years? Yes. Have I done anything about it? No. It’s called being a mature adult and honoring the committment I made to my hubby. I think both Adam and Kris are mature enough to handle themselves appropriately and I believe Adam values his friendship with Kris enough to not say or do anything to hurt that.

Actually it’s the same day as the Atlantic City, New Jersey tour date.

They do have hair and make-up people traveling with them on tour. Jason said the hair people on tour weren’t as good as those on AI, so his dreads were a mess by the end of the tour.

Lil can still work that security bag check, though. Can you imagine the stern faces she will be able to give people who try to sneak in bottles of water? Never mess with a Mom. Of course, last year they gave Chickezie that job since he used to work for the TSA. Man, you should have heard all the complaints on this board from people losing their toenail clippers at the AI shows. But, you have to ask, why do you need to clip your toe-nails at a concert? Eating a pop-tart is bad enough without an extra serving of calcium. Anyway, as a result, the show has lots of toe-nail clippers so everybody can give each other pedicures on the tour. Except for Kris. Those bags don’t get loaded on the bus by themselves, you know.

Adam has enough hair for six normal adults…..and many bald men envy. It also tends to have some natural curl or wave. I am sure that his wash and wear look is much easier than having to use the straight iron to style his emo look.

Adam’s hair is fine by me, but I don’t like the Y.H. awards pompadour so much. Slightly off topic–in this pic and in recent pics, it looks like Adam’s steadily lost weight. He looks good! I’m one of the fans that like his slimmer, more boyish look. I did notice that a few folks at RStone’s comments were insinuating he still needs to lose more weight, use better make-up, improve his looks for the fans, etc. Some of these comments are rather personal. Imo, from this pic and recent ones, he’s looking quite good and seems to be working on his look for the tour and album. I’m a fan of his talent either way, but that’s mho as far as his appearance lately. He looks great and doesn’t need to lose any more weight!

I think he probably has more control over his own diet now. From some of the pics we saw from behind the scenes, it looks like AI was feeding these guys lots of pizza during the show. Also, I think the chef at the mansion wasn’t able to make special meals for everyone so everyone probably got the same food. Last year I noticed that Cook lost weight during the show. I think I’ve noticed other contestants in previoius years lose weight during the course of the competition. This is the first year where it looked like the idols put on a bit of weight. I do think it has to do with the mansion living.

Either way, Adam looks great.

If you watch the 20/20 promo video that was taken backstage at the YHA Awards, Kara not so subtlely asks Adam if he has a stylist (answer: no) and informs him that she “knows a few people that would love to work with him” – in particular one that does the “rock look” which Adam loves. So, fear not those who didn’t care for his YHA ensemble (I was among them).

I’m also thinking a “good hairstylist” will encourage him to grow out his hair. It’s simply a better look for him. But the notion that the guy is overweight is so absurd. He’s not bone skinny, but he’s soo far from overweight. lol.

btw, TMZ posters are mean to absolutely everyone. You are not going to find a kind word there, I don’t care which celebrity they are talking about. I studiously avoid the site and the show so as not to give them any encouragement.

Tess, I think this is a cute image — Adam taking the idols shopping — but, honestly, am I alone in thinking his taste in clothes is awful? That Young Hollywood awards outfit was terrible. He looked like he borrowed the bottom half from a road company of Kiss Me Kate. I think Adam is the one who needs help with his wardrobe skills, seriously. You know the saying, you should wear the clothes, the clothes shouldn’t wear you. He should dial it back a little, he’s a nice-looking guy otherwise. Yeah, I love the way Kris dressed on the show. He has a fondness for cute t-shirts and ripped jeans, which is fine by me. I also loved those pants he wore for disco night and the sparkly top he wore when he performed Heartless.

I read something where one of the AI stylists said that they kind of had to fight with Kris to get him to wear the outfit he wore when he performed No Boundaries. He thought it made him look too much like a model! Heh.

Re: the picture, and whether this was them going for tour rehearsal or recording studio, my understanding is that Kris had tour rehearsal yesterday, but not Adam. Adam is there today.

With one interview in RS, Adam has fed the fires of multiple fan fantasies.
1)There is the gay man fantasy.
2)There is the (potential) for a female fan to tempt him into having a ladies night
3) And those Kradam fans, well, this is just a little slice of heaven.

I think the fan fiction is going to be off the charts now. I have to say, this turned out to be one fun season. I can’t want for the tour and the albums.

As I keep saying, give me a guy without a lot of vanity with his appearance! No insult to entertainers like Adam, who really have great fun with the dress-up. But it took me a looong time to get my husband out of brown shmatas, into a leather jacket, etc. he’s a little more into the attire thing now, but…..call me old-fashioned. I kinda love guys like Kris who go for the ultra-casual and don’t spend lotsa time primping with the mirror…… :tongue_wink_ee:

A good model? Hugh Jackman. Oooh lah lah. But the guy is totally focused on his wife and kids, his wife (10 years or so older than he is, by the way!) is very good-humored about it, and they’re both an inspiration.

I’m going to possibly open a can of worms here, but about the fanfiction, I’m afraid to read it! I was a huge L. of the Rings fan (hobbits!) and discovered that many ladies enjoyed something called “slash.” I’m not judging this at all, but I also was not so much into that aspect of hobbit-relations, lol. So before I start digging around in the fanfiction, someone do tell–is this anything like “slash”? That is, do Adam and Kris get, uh, rather close in this fanfiction? I’m totally cool if it is, but I’m not planning to read it, much, LOL. I like them both and think they’re both cute. Please don’t get me wrong! But I’d like to know before I click on those sites. :rolleyes_wp:

I read something where one of the AI stylists said that they kind of had to fight with Kris to get him to wear the outfit he wore when he performed No Boundaries. He thought it made him look too much like a model! Heh.

I’ve not visited any fanfic sites (I’m ok with fanfic about fictional characters, but not real people) but I can absolutely guarantee that there is slash galore. But maybe some of them are kind enough to warn you ahead of time?

I’ve never heard of a piano being called an acoustic piano. I’ve always heard “piano” and “electric piano” or “keyboard.” I guess a piano is acoustic though since it has strings hit by hammers.

I’m thinking that the original poster being a piano player and not familiar with any other string instruments wouldn’t think about having more than one guitar since most people I know who have pianos only have one.

I think Krisà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ knowledge that Adam found him attractive added to the depth of their friendship. I would imagine Kris may have been a little intimidated by Adam at first à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ very small town Arkansas boy, unassuming college student, meets bigger-than-life L.A.-savvy, glam god with KILLER talent

I have to disagree with this image of Kris. He may come from a small town, but it’s not as if he’s never left it. He has been to Africa and Thailand doing missionary work, which, I’m guessing, would be pretty far out of the comfort zone for a lot of us. He’s more worldly than people are giving him credit for. Aside from that, Adam may be the bigger-than-life glam guy on stage, but off stage, he seems to be a pretty easy-going guy who just happens to like clothes and make-up.

Honestly, I would be pretty surprised if Kris was at all intimidated by Adam. He seems pretty grounded, and I bet Adam’s not the first man he’s ever seen in make-up. (Thailand, anyone?)

I agree with that Callitags. I think Kris is a lot more of everything than people give him credit for. I don’t see him too intimidated by anyone. Plus, they lived together for quite a while. You get to know a person pretty well under those circumstances. The fact that it made them tighter as friends says a whole bunch about both of them.

I’m annoyed with the characterization of Kris as shy college boy and Adam as some kind of seasoned hotshot. Kris is savvy and talented and Adam is savvy and talented. To me, Kris knows who he is. Adam, altho a fantastic talent, had to find that self identity. That must be hard, when society tells you it’s wrong to be who you are. Adam puts up a brave front. Remember when he said on an AI clip that he might have crumbled under the pressure if he had tried out earlier? I give him all kinds of kudos for finding himself and being brave in a really harsh world. To me, Adam and Kris are all kinds of brave for different, but admirable, reasons. Maybe that’s one of the things they have in common, these kindred spirits?????

Just want to add: Kris traveled to Burma, Morocco, Mozambique, South Africa, Spain and Thailand (acc. to Wikipedia).

I think Kris and Adam are from similar backgrounds. I don’t know the actual town Kris grew up in (I don’t think it was Conway), but I think Adam grew up in Rancho Penasquitos, which seems like a suburb-type section of San Diego with a population of about 54,000, or, about the same as Conway. They each have one brother, their mothers get along great, etc.

Funny, but offstage I don’t see Adam as being bigger than life or an overpowering personality. He’s a performer who turns it on when he goes on stage, and offstage I think that while his look is offbeat, his personality is less offbeat. He seems more talkative but otherwise pretty similar to Kris in a lot of ways. Cool guys, both.

The AI7 Tour had a stop in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre. Here are the videos I took. Unfortunately, I missed recording 2 of Jason’s performances, 1 of Ramiele’s and Chikezie’s entire set (and he was surprisingly good too).

This year, there are two stops in Canada: Vancouver and Hamilton (which is just beside Toronto).

I believe seasons 4 and 6 had tour dates in Canada but not season 5. Not sure about seasons 1-3.

Nah, I don’t think you’re a Pollyanna. There were some incredible people. I esp, like how they put friendship over competiton at times, like the save of Matt G., the way Kris and Adam helped out Allison (acc. to Allison), the way Kris and Adam basically refused to compete against each other. Pretty awesome.

There couldn’t be a more perfect pair to be #1 and #2 this year. Great personalities, great music and great friendship. I’ll bet they will be life long friends. This was the best season of Idol ever.

LOL…Kris Allen is not some uneducated hick from the Arkansas sticks. He’s from the greater Little Rock area, and obviously grew up in a typical middle class American household.
