Yeah, I’m kinda laughing over here. Now maybe there were more people at the press conference and this photographer only shot pictures of these four, but it’s kind of amusing that the only four people shot were the director (who’s been slaving away how many years of this project?), the male lead, the female lead and Adam. And as you say, 16 shots are of Adam and only 8 of John Cusack! Too funny.

Usually, it would be unusual (!!?!), but in this case, I truly think it’s because they are gearing up for an Oscar campaign for Best Song. They want Adam associated with the movie as much as possible so when the time comes and it is nominated (very likely) and Adam is scheduled to perform it on the Oscar telecast (also very likely), the movie can actually glom on to Adam for extra publicity — at the very least for the DVD release to follow. And if the song wins, they instantly become an “Oscar-winning” film! (From what we’ve seen of the special effects, they certainly have a much better shot with the song!)

(Oscar songs are kind of on a par with Christmas songs — write a half-decent song and you are almost guaranteed air play on at least one (or two) days a year! Same with a movie song which only has to compete with a limited amount of eligible songs. And if you have (what appears to be) an eligible song like TfM with a singer like Adam? Just watch for all the full page ads with him in Variety as it gets close to nomination time!

Not entirely true. As long as the song is the FIRST song in the closing credits and meets all other eligibility requirements, it can be nominated. It’s been researched ad nauseum since it was announced Adam was performing the song… LOL.

You’re actually right on all counts — in a way they have gotten pickier, and yet, they have just done away with an 80+ year tradition of having 5 Best Pictures nominees. They are definitely flexible when it comes to PR and ratings . . . the Academy has to “support” itself like any other institution and if it needs to “adjust” the rules to that end, it certainly will. (With all the buzz and a potentially younger audience, it’s gonna be really, really interesting to see how they play this one!)

Wow he looks really handsome! I thought that was a photoshoot. The clean look REALLY suits him. In some shots his skin looks kind of iffy, but not necessarily bad. You can see his skin is flawed, but it really doesn’t detract from his looks. If I were his PR person, I’d ask him to swear off make-up. It really does him a disservice.

Those pictures are almost turning me into a fan! But boy looks good, even I can admit that.

His jacket has rivets all over it! And love the Chanel necklace – must’ve cost him a pretty penny.

seriously…. he looks good. He has really pretty eyes but since they’re small, the harsh black eyeliner he usually sports only serves to close them off, making them, yes, pop out, but also look closed off. Sometimes I feel like his eyes get lost in the eyeliner, and light colored eyes are rare… He’s one of those people that when he smiles, his eyes are reduced to near slits… the black just doesn’t work for him. If he is going to wear eyeliner, at the very least, he shouldn’t put black at the bottom… maybe a light gray.

alright. Enough make up tips. Just saying though. There are a lot of eye liner color options, and black really only washes people out, especially if they’re fair-skinned and is too harsh for most eyes.

Yeah, but People isn’t exactly averse to publicity (which is why they created Sexiest Man Alive in the first place!) And Adam has already proven that his being on the cover can sell lots of magazines. I’m thinkin’ they might just go for it cos really what do they have to lose? It would make them very PC, they’d have a gorgeous man on the cover, and they’d sell out all their copies . . . advertisers probably wouldn’t complain about that! (And neither would we!!!!!)

People already named Adam one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor’s so I wouldn’t be marking them off as unsupportive (nor homophobic, as your post suggests) just yet.

Adam is still pre-album and look at all of the media coverage (magazine covers) he has already gotten. He is going to be everywhere at least for the next 2 to 3 years.

Well idk, to me those new pics at the top show him at his best – far less make-up and eyeliner than he normally wears – I think he looks very fresh and natural. And totally gorgeous. Very very few men are this beautiful, and very manly at the same time.
The only time I don’t like his eyeliner is when he puts on a strong black line heavily on his LOWER lids, and doesn’t smudge it up (I actually like the smoky smudged look), that style is too harsh and makes his eyes look squinty and smaller.

And – how about the stunning jacket he wore for the premiere! I wonder where he got that and who designed it. Anybody know?

I’m in the Dominican Republic. I have an International Visa, and sometimes some sites take it. Other times, I get rejected because “the billing address does not match the delivery address” (bummer), but I was lucky on AO.

My fav pics are Adam on the black carpet. I love his edgy glam look. Urban warrior chic indeed. He sure likes the pyramid studs. Didn’t the BVoU have them as well. Although personally I didn’t think it was that ugly.

He seemed a little nervous to me but he always does well when being interviewed. A few seconds of interview is better than nothing. But are there press junket interviews?

Well I hated the BVoU, as is well known, but I liked his jacket last night. It wasn’t something any Golden Girl would wear, so there’s that right off. Liked his hair last night, not as fluffy as at TII, but not total side part.

It is just so astounding that Adam was doing press for this right next to the two leads and the director, who has likely been working on this film for YEARS. It makes no sense, but I’ll take it. And during the live-feed last night they were interviewing Emmerich, but yelling for Adam.

My god. It ought to be against the law to be so incredibly good-looking.

Thought people might want to know that they had a really nice bit about Adam on Scott and Todd WPLJ in NY this morning (#1 station in NYC area) They talked about how people were calling the station trying to find out when they could here more of teh album. They seemed to really like the album and mentioned the Amazon UK links. THey said that Adam had hooked up with all the best songwriters, and that ” you are really going to like the album”. Then they played the snippet of “Whaddaya Want From Me” and also “Strut” mentioning Kara and Pink and Max Martin. They said that they haven’t heard any more and that the label is being very tight with the music and even though they are close the label they haven’t heard more. They did not mention FYE or play it which I thought was strange since they spinned it 5 times Monday. They then went on to discuss the cover a bit, “It’s different” which they aren’t as jazzed about ” You can go either way on it.” Female DJ mentioned that he was wearing so much makeup etc. But they seemed to really like the music. All in all, I thought it was very positive and this is the biggest station in the biggest market (I think? Unless LA is bigger) in the country so I think its good.

MJ, I apologize if this is off topic. Other threads seem to be a bit dead and I thought people would be interested.

He is such a “CUTIE PA-TOOTIE”!!! Love him just as he is!!

Morning, all. I was one of the ones who watched and watched and watched and…pretty much nothing, but it was kind of fun, esp when people were yelling ADAM, ADAM.

I seriously think he looks hot in these pics. Look at his SMILE. Who has a cuter smile? WHO? No one. While I wanted one of THESE on the cover of the album or single, I can see why they aren’t edgy enough. But I will put one on my CD from AO anyway. Of COURSE I like the pics with the black jacket and gray t-shirt, but the others are more festive. This was a big deal event, and I am so happy he got to be part of it.

I noticed TfM has moved back up on the pop chart (Allison is ahead of Kris! I attribute to Allison being on the home page of the “what’s hot” email, at least in part).

Is Adam at the top of the amazon singles chart? Really? If so, wow. Get with the program, iTunes.

Search for Adam Lambert then expand the search to See All. It’s there at least it is for me.

FYE is showing up on the US iTunes store. When I clicked on the cover icon, the store said the item was not available. But when I signed into the store, I was able to click on the Buy Album and actually buy the song.

I expect the song should be completely available on iTunes USA in the next few hours. You can try to buy it if you want to, since the release date says October 31.

Sounds complicated. Sounds screwed up. But I think it’s there. Somebody alert MJ and dhunken.

They could have worded Adam’s appearance more accurately. They said Adam was spotted at the 2012 premiere. He was actually asked to walk the red (black) carpet as part of the producer and director, cast and key crew members for press interviews.

You can see his publicist pulling Adam out of the press line and into the theatre, telling the press that Adam needs to go. Thus, not getting interviewed for the livesteam. That’s when the press were yelling, “Adam, Adam, Adam”.

Hmm, maybe everyone’s deserted this thread, but this is the appropriate place for this comment, so…

I just wanted to say how much I love watching Adam navigate these events–as many have pointed out, he’s such a natural. I always think that Adam’s taken to fame like a duck to water:
He floats on top of it, nice and easy, bobbing lightly and totally in his element, and every now and then he splashes around a little and gets little glittery drops of fame all over him, shiny and sparkly, and then he grins, and shakes himself, and it all just runs right off him again (water off a ducks back) leaving him calm and natural and just as he was before. LOVE this! You’re so right – I’ve never seen anyone be always so bright and shiny, articulate and intelligent. What a natural talent! He makes poor John Cusack (whom I’ve always liked) look SO dull LOL

Since there are going to be a lot of red carpet premieres in Adam’s very near, near, and distant future just remember this handy spelling tip:

premiere = the first, debut

premier = leader, the best, the ‘top’  (i.e. Adam)

(MJ: I’m grading your paper on the curve so giving you a pass. Since you spelled it correctly in your text, I’m assuming the headline was a typo.)

For next week’s lesson, we will be discussing the proper spelling abbreviation for MI-cro-phone stand (think ‘nickname for Michael’ ) . . . again in the interest of what we hope wil be many, many future references.
