American Idol alums, Ace Young and Diana Degarmo got cozy on the couch of the Maria Osmond Show. The new talk show airs on the Hallmark channel.

Ace and Diana talked about their romance and engagement, meeting “naked” on the stage of the Broadway revival of Hair, and performing over the summer at the Andy Williams Theater in Branson, MO.

After, Ace and Diana performed “Us Against the World” and “I Will Be There”.

    Just a few observations:

    1.  As an idol loonie I am so happy for the first idol couple – they are precious.

    2.  I think Diana may hold back a bit so as not to outsing Ace.

    3.  Ace is still one of the most beautiful men to come off idol.

    4.  Marie can’t even move her lips.  Made me uncomfortable watching her talk.

    these fame whores.

I don’t believe “Bey and Jay” would ever appear on Marie Osmond’s show, so I don’t think they’re trying to be anyone but themselves. I, too, noticed Diana singing “down” so as to not show up Ace. His voice is much less versatile than hers.

Oh and praise to whichever god finally intervened and convinced Ace to cut his hair. He’s rocking a very nice buzz cut these days.

just a joke, not being literal.

Ace would look so much better if he did something with that hair.  Ace and Diana are so annoying, I can’t imagine having to sit down and have to talk to those two more than fifteen minutes

Ace’s 4 big brothers might have a family business that he can go into….when he grows up.  I can see him being successful in retail furniture, for instance.

Aww, I think they’re cute together.  It’s obviously real, unlike so many fauxmances you see these days.

@Niall, I agree about the hair.  He looks better with it short or just a little curly.   That said, I gleaned from twitter that he did it to donate to Locks of Love.   That’s admirable.

As a long time fan of Diana’s, I enjoy seeing her so happy. She always seems joyful when she’s with Ace. I’m 100% supportive of their personal relationship (and can’t wait for the cute babies that are on the horizon) but I hope Diana starts making her own career the priority soon. She almost seems too content to limit herself to a joint professional career with Ace and I think she’s too good for it.

I hope they do their own things, too.  I can see the advantage of doing stuff together right now until that happens. I am sure if Y&R wanted to bring Angelina back or if  she got a gig on Broadway she would take it.  Or if Ace got a gig he would take it.   Seems to me they are focused on planning a wedding and making music right now.

Their relationship is too cheesy for me. It also feels forced. I doubt any couple can be that bubbly 24/7.  Ace needs a hair cut, STAT. Diana looks cute. Its sad how love has blinded her into doing duets with Ace. She can do better for herself. You can tell she is holding back as to not embarrass Ace.

Lee and Jonna kinda are this public with their relationship. Twitter, People mag, and they were on a HGTV but I don’t recall people saying they are annoying. If Diana and Ace want want to use their relationship for PR for whatever reason…let them. Even if it’s a little annoying to some lol

There have been a lot of acts that have done well emphasizing the married couple.  Lucy and Ricky, The Stillers, George and Gracie, and the list goes on.  If Ace and Diana are comfortable and feel it is advantageous to be a couple who am I to argue with that.
