Congratulations to Chris Mann, who came in 4th on the second season of The Voice. He’ll be taking over the lead in the Broadway touring company of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, Phantom of the Opera.
Chris, who had released several solo albums and starred in his own PBS special Chris Mann In Concert: A Mann For All Seasons will join the company on November 25 in Ft Lauderdale, FL.
From Playbill:
Laurence Connor, who also directed the returns of Miss Saigon and Les Misérables, staged this new production of Phantom that began its U.S. tour in November 2013 after a 2012 U.K. premiere. The tour retains the late Maria Björnson’s original, Tony Award-winning costume design
Joining him on that date will be Katie Travis as Christine Daaé, Storm Lineberger as Raoul and Anne Kanengeiser as Madame Giry. David Benoit will return to the role of Monsieur Firmin, and Morgan Cowling will assume the role of Meg Giry.
They join current tour cast members Jacquelynne Fontaine as Carlotta Giudicelli, Edward Staudenmayer as Monsieur André and Frank Viveros as Ubaldo Piangi.
Chris could barely contain his excitement yesterday, as he tweeted:
