don’t be fooled by chris golightly..he may seem like the innocent orphan that wants you to feel sorry for him for your votes..truth is he just wants to get ahead in life using his story for your sympathy..i should know he has done that trick on me and he got me good..he may say he’s changed and is more truthful now but i don’t believe him..he is a very good liar and a con artist..for somebody who was an orphan he should appreciate what people do for him..but all he does is think about himself..he’s a hypocrite..he auditioned last year and lied his whole way through the auditions..but best of wishes if you want someone like him to be your american idol..

Me three! Honestly, no matter how much people complain about her inability to speak clearly, I think she is very skilled in identifying talent during the audition rounds. I will miss her positivity too.

I was surprised to see a commercial dedicated almost solely to one contestant. I don’t ever remember that happening.

I think I’ll have to approach this show with a big sense of humor or else I will end up cringing and hiding a lot. ^____^

Exactly. S8 was my first time watching and I didn’t really understand what the was about. Now, I’m coming at it from a different perspective and I think I’ll be able to laugh, cheer and celebrate each week w/o getting attached to any one contestant or caring if they ever have a career after the show is over. The show is the end goal in and of itself.

And this guy could easily fill one of the back story type slots they so love. As long as they highlight his back story, I think his personality will determine more than anything else how far he gets.

ETA: Michelle’s upbeat cheeriness in her speaking voice grated on my nerves. But she’s really cute and looks like she might be able to take on the roll they wanted Lil Rounds to have (which she never managed to fill) last season.

Michelle looks just like Simon’s favorite from X-factor a few years back (don’t recall her name). She has great, multi-textured voice and is good looking too. I predict Top 5 finish.

The “orphan” guy has one of those voices where he sounds really good singing the SAME NOTE over and over again.
