Little update on the SNL calendar.

December 5th would be awesome for Adam and Kris b/c it is right after their albums drop and in time for holiday buying. Of course, the 19th would be terrific, too. But have either been approached? Because Adam said no when Laura Saltman asked him. Isn’t Carrie (or Daughtry) more likely? Not sure how this works. I can be excited about it, tho. They wouldn’t both appear. tho. would they? Would it make more sense for Kris, as the AI winner? Not sure how this works out.

I love TfM, but I want Adam’s new single from TBD to drop! And for anyone that says it doesn’t sound like Adam:

1) It’s not glam, it’s for the soundtrack of a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE. The fact that he was picked to sing it is HUGE.

2) His vocals are amazing. And he is going to get TONS of exposure, so in conjunction with the video playing before MJ’s This Is It, his new single, his album dropping, Details and Out Magazines, and some major PR junkets, I could not be more excited and less concerned about TfM. Its its not your cuppa tea, you have plenty more chances to hear other songs (AMA’s!). And if you do like it, there will be more songs a bit more in that vein on his album (well, maybe not exactly, but there will be a couple of introspective tours, he said in EW, and some power type ballads.

I do not watch DWTS, but SYTYCD’s Top 20 are revealed tomorrow. I did read mj’s spoilers, so I know who most of them are, but woo hoo! And we find out about each of them tomorrow night, too. YAY!

No way would both Adam and Kris appear on SNL together. It would be one or the other and they shouldn’t have to be linked together on such a major platform like that. Carrie has been on twice already so I don’t know if she would be asked for a 3rd time. There was a long list of her promo schedule floating around and SNL wasn’t on it, not yet anyway.

I’m hoping Kris tweets later today about how the shoot for his music video went. Assuming everything went ok, the shoot would’ve ended about 45 minutes ago. I figure he’s probably exhausted and will probably sleep for awhile if he can. But fingers crossed that he tweets later today about how everything went.

i guess so, but maybe only after the results show which is tonight. I saw some performances on youtube. It was a “diva week” and i think the mentors were Whitney Houston and Clive Davis. Some contenstants did a pretty goog job some others with the “small” voices had difficulties due to the theme and the twins were again a source of laughter, i think.

Yeah, girlygirl, I hope that Kris Tweets about the video shoot as well. How it went, maybe better yet some timeframe on when it might come out…ya know, the little things. And what’s that you say? That was a very pretty vid indeed. I saw it earlier. This one has become a favorite of mine too in the live performance category. This afternoon’s show is the last one till the 11/3 show in Phoenix. Hope David can stay healthy during the break.

You have no idea, acts like John and Edward can be very popular. Not only in Great Britain. We have this guy Damijan Murko in Slovenia, he looks a lot like these two twins. He can not sing at all, but he tries to sing like one of our well known female singers.

DC was also on Nightline, Teen Choice Awards, MTV’s TRL Live twice (once w/Archie and then once when his video, Light On, was released), The Mike & Maty Show, and he performed at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall – serenaded Hillary Clinton. He also performed at the David Wright Gala at the Hard Rock Cafe — so lots of TV/press on that. RCA/19E also hosted a launch party for Fans at the Hard Rock Cafe when his album dropped. Fans went to Virgin Mega Store for a wristband, and then go to see DC and his band live that night. (Sad that this is from memory. Heh)

DC apparently indicated at today’s Georgia tour stop that the whole band is participating in the taping of Carrie’s special this week, and also that something else is being taped that is a surprise for January. Hmmmmmm.

Why would they put Kris on if Adam got the show? Because they are friends? Don’t they have separate careers now? Puleeze, let Kradam stay a freindship thing, and nothing more.

I think I was misunderstood, I never intended to say that it will be a show with both Kris and Adam, just that they could appear as musical guest on their own.
It would make no sense for NBC to promote an “American Idol” reunion.

Not surprised at all, the worst thing you could do in a show like this is be forgettable, the twins are not. Furthermore the X factor has a history of corny acts making it far agains the judges will.

A few years ago, I went on the NBC Studios tour in NY. It included a stop on the SNL set. I remember from that tour that SNL regularly takes weeks off because of the intensity of putting on each show. I think it was something like 2 Live weeks, 1 off week. But I don’t remember for sure. If this still holds true, then one or more of those TBD dates will likely be a repeat instead of a new show.

LOL He was also at the Glamour Magazine 2008 Woman of the Year awards – where he was invited as a special surprise to sing to Hillary Clinton who reportedly had her friends voting for David during the season while she was busy campaigning. He also met Condoleeza Rice at those awards. Both Hillary and Condoleeza fangirled over him.

Also the Teen Choice Awards – where he presented and also won an award.

Against the Redskins, huh? Well, even though I live in DC, I am still an Eagles fan. So, yea for the Chiefs. (The Redskins should move back into the District so that the people of Washington can actually attend the games more easily. Jackasses)

But, I will root for the Nationals over the Phillies, up until the point where the Nationals are out … which was quite early. Their season was barely hatched, in fact.

Heh, Sassycatz. I just moved to DC and went to a Braves game, er, Nationals game against the Braves. [My bad. Smile.] I was surprised at how empty it was, as it was a lovely, lovely evening. Then I found out what the attendance had been like, and was no longer surprised.

I’m looking forward to hearing what DC is doing on Carrie’s show. I’ve never been one to buy her music, but I love them together, and the more I see of her sense of humor, the more I like her.

I read on DCO that Cook would be taping something now that would be aired in January … without the band. Maybe an acting gig? (He’s a big fan of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” but who knows. It depends on what is aired in January.)

Also, someone mentioned there that there was word mentioned on the cellcast that “the powers that be” are happy with tour sales and are planning for bigger venues during the next tour. (This is all just word of mouth, however.)

Re: X-Factor – There is no doubt about it, the contestant are all pretty mediocre, not really up to the standard of American Idol, or even previous seasons of X-Factor (last year contestants were pretty good, just a pity that the winner Alexandra Burke wasn’t the best singer that year). I however like Lloyd Daniels’ version of Bleeding Love, a poor singer no doubt, but I can see him doing reasonably well in a recording studio.

The show is certainly more flashily produced than American Idol, and looks better. I’m wondering if American Idol will do something similar, although I do hope no dancers for AI.

Ha! I went to a Nationals-Phillies game at Nationals Park. I’m from the Philadelphia area and was raised rooting for them, but I’ve lived in DC for a while and the Nationals became our team since I’ve been here, so I’ve decided that *they’re* my team. Anyway, I was appalled at all the Washington area residents who were rooting for the Phils during the game I attended. I shouted out to them, “Phillies fans,” you suck! Because, if they were really Phillies fans, they wouldn’t root against their home team, which is the Nationals NOT the Phillies. The Nationals actually pulled out that win, 8 to 7 and I was thrilled, even though many in the stadium did not seem so. When my friend and I got in the elevator to leave the stadium, I said to the crowd in the elevator, at NATIONALS stadium, “that was a great game! So, glad the Nationals pulled it out!” They snarled at me, but I looked in their eyes with defiance, “root for your home team, you louses, like a “Phillies fan” would !”

That would be awesome for the west coast peeps to have more chances to see DC on tour who may not have had the opportunity before now. A lot of them came as far as some parts of Washington state and California etc. for his concert for the Azalea festival here on 4/2 because they were afraid that this might be the only time they would get to see him on this tour.

David is a mean touring machine. Heh

Speaking as a diehard lifelong Philly fan myself, most of the Phillies fans likely simply drove down to DC for the game(s). They do the same thing when they play the Orioles. Or when they drive up to NY for games against the Mets or Yanks.

Speaking of the Phils, they’ve jumped on the Dodgers early tonight in Game 3 of NLCS (4-0 after 1st inning. YAY!)

Anyway…anyone have a good idea of how long it’ll be until we see Kris’ and Allison’s videos?

I am not saying that there were no actual Phillies fans — from Philadelphia — at the game, but you just had to be there. The whole stadium seemed to be inundated with them and this was a Thursday night — a work night — and threatening rain! No way were they all from Philly. In fact, many of them were hybrids. They had on Phillies jerseys with Nationals caps or vice versa. Even I had on a Phillies jersey. (It was the World Series jersey from last season that my family had gifted me at X-mas.) But, I rooted for the Nationals all the way. Washington is full of people who will pretend they are not residents even if they’ve lived here for 20 years!

That would be very cool. My first thought was that it could be the AI boot song, but since they don’t start booting semifinalists until February or March, maybe it’s not. I’ll just be happy to see him on TV again, whenever and whatever it is. Youtubes can’t compare to a 32″ TV screen and good stereo speakers.

Another review of Archie’s “Christmas from the Heart”…

Anyone who watched him on Idol had to know two things as soon as David’s Christmas CD was announced. He has the vocal ability to do justice to the songs of the season, even if it isn’t here yet. And he’d give those songs the respect they deserve.

Even with those lofty expectations heading in, fans will be impressed by young David’s ‘Christmas From the Heart.’ 

I read on DCO that Cook would be taping something now that would be aired in January ‘ ¦ without the band.

I will love to see just David without the band for a change. Could it be the new year thingy he was talking about at one interview? I hope not though, because I want more David Cook.

Video of the actual banter hasn’t surfaced yet but he supposedly said “we” were heading to LA to tape Carrie’s special and “he” would be filming something that would be seen in January so I’m thinking no to the NYE thing whatever that is because I assume the band will be there for that. I hope he knows that little nugget is causing many of us to go nuts with speculation…oh wait I’m sure that’s why he threw it out there hah. The only thing I can think of is some type of acting gig since he did mention a while ago he was reading scripts and stuff, and TV shows do tape that far in advance.

That’s where the true level of post-”Idol” success can be measured, says Sandra Deane, AOL television editor. “People have unfair expectations of the Idols,” she says. “The bar was set really high because of Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, and that kind of thing is lightning in a bottle.”

… it’s working out nicely for Hicks, who landed at No. 10 when Forbes published its list of the top 10 earners from “American Idol” in 2008. Thanks to “Grease,” record royalties and his solo gigs, he earned $300,000. It’s quite a distance from David Archuleta at No. 9 ($1.3 million), but it’s nothing to sniff at.

‘American Idol:’ Adam Lambert outselling rivals, friends

… If you look at the Amazon sales charts for this past week you’ll quickly notice something shocking: pre-orders of Lambert’s still-untitled album are #9 overall in music; meanwhile, Allen and Iraheta are not even in the top 100. Why is this? You could attribute it to a number of factors, such as increase of media exposure for Lambert and a song in the upcoming film “2012.” Lambert is also the only one of the three to not have a full song available online (his is only a clip), so more people may also be downloading singles from Allen and Iraheta and waiting on the full album for later.

In addition, Allen and Iraheta are also being defeated on the charts by fellow “American Idol” alum David Archuleta, whose “Christmas From the Heart” ranks 22nd.

Watched a couple of the X-Factor performances. Lucie was pretty weak. She just can’t handle those big, diva songs and that’ll kick her in the butt, eventually. Olly was surprisingly good. His singing isn’t the best in this competition, but the combination of the song, the production, and his – should I say it — dancing really impressed. He can be an entertainer given the right material.

BTW, I finally got a chance to watch the SC video of David Cook’s I Did It For You – niiice! Here’s Lie if you haven’t seen it… looks cold out there. Like the leather jacket, beanie, lips (oops)… Like his guitar stuff at the beginning. He did that I think in… Richmond? I had no idea what song he was going to do, lol. Purty. LOVE this song. Should be on my radio (sniff).

Just saw that fox24.com interview with Cook. Same old, same old re his being on Carrie’s Christmaas special and the schedule for touring and recording the next album . . . but holy crap! Did you see the size of the bleachers behind him? How big was that arena? Looked huge! Hope he filled it — or got close.

Also, someone mentioned there that there was word mentioned on the cellcast that ‘the powers that be’  are happy with tour sales and are planning for bigger venues during the next tour. (This is all just word of mouth, however.)

Did anyone cite a source — like Dave or his manager or someone affiliated with him? I love the guy, but I really doubt TPTB (or whoever) are planning for bigger venues for the next tour already, because no matter what, they have to wait to see whether album #2 sells big first, don’t you think?

American Idol judges ordered to cut out the gay jokes

A long-running ‘inside joke’  between American Idol stars Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell has come to an end, now that Ellen Degeneres has replaced Paula Abdul on the show. Fans of the show know that there has been a weird, often inappropriate sexual tension between host Seacrest and judge Cowell for years, with Simon constantly cracking gay jokes. But according to sources, that’s about to change, because producers don’t want to offend Ellen.

I love the guy, but I really doubt TPTB (or whoever) are planning for bigger venues for the next tour already, because no matter what, they have to wait to see whether album #2 sells big first, don’t you think?

I would think so. I’m actually amazed that he’s been able to tour for this long and continue to sellout (or nearly sellout) some big crowds. However, if he’s not going to have any new material or new singles between now and next summer, I think that’s pretty premature of TPTB. OK it’s crazy for them not to release another single.
